Hello,
take a look at Medalist, the current season's most popular anime in Japan. It uses 3D-CGI for the ice rink competition segments and Kamisaki Hikaru's perfomance in today's episode 5 was indeed breath-taking. Medalist is a different kind of CGI compared to Girls Band Cry, probably a bit similar to Land of the Lustrous in being more focused on polished body movements versus expressive faces. Yet, Medalist also uses motion-capturing for modeling input from a former olympic skater lady.

Btw, this new series and Girls Band Cry have the same scriptwriter, Jukki Hanada and he knows what he's cooking! One could even rename Medalist to Girls Ice Cry...

Note: Medalist is not (yet) on Crunchy, but only on Disney and Hulu. Disney uses english dub transcriptions for sub (atrociously bad choice), so Hulu subs are recommended.
