my favorite part is how the acoustic guitar transformed into an electric after the song ended

I like it overall but the visuals are underwhelming.
Their faces are off every other minute, and using the cheap fadeout during the all important live scene is a huge sin

Perhaps I am alone in this sentiment, but they really dropped the ball this episode. This has been a very literal adaptation so far, which is normally a good thing in that they are cutting little to no content from the manga, but in doing so they're completely missing opportunities to take creative license and enhance scenes to work in anime form better.

For a manga, of course they can't convey music very well. At best they can show the performance, and maybe some lyrics or inner monologue. That is what the manga did, and it works for that format. The problem arises when we're in an adaptation that is this literal, resulting in them lifting everything in chapter 15 and tossing it right in as-is with some animation on top. As a result, they actually end up draining the scene of any emotion or rising climax.

As we've seen up until now, their relationship is built on a foundation of music. This entire scenario in fact is centered around the song that Yori wrote directly for Himari to hear, with the purpose of showing Himari just how deeply she feels for her. So why in the world do we instead watch a flashback slideshow with Yori monologuing over it, while the very song that is facilitating this entire scene is relegated to the background where we can barely to take it in?

The lyrics are supposed to speak for themselves.

There is zero need for dialogue or a recap of the path their relationship has taken; that has already been established in preceding episodes. What it needs to be showing is Yori connecting to Himari through her music, and showing her how much she loves her through the warmth of her lyrics. The lyrics are the dialogue. Their relationship started through music, and it is now culminating through music (also literally in the song choice; the band's opening song is the same one from the start of the anime, and the next one shown is Sunny Spot, the current point in the anime). It would be a very moving scene to see everything 'click' in this way, and it would give more impetus behind Himari immediately running up to the stage right after the song to express how she feels to Yori. As it currently is, that build-up of emotion during the song is missing.

I think this is the problem I have been feeling with this show most of this season. It is faithful to the source, but it is not adapting for the medium. It is a romance anime, yes, but it is also a music anime. They need to take better advantage of the fact that they have the full effect of music and animation at their disposal.
