A season concludes the arc, the villain of the week is defeated, the problem of the day is solved.

A part 2 is a continuation of the arc from part 1. You can tell because it's a cliffhanger with nothing resolved.

It's still just the next episode. If me saying season instead of part 2 makes you incapable of enjoying the show then that's kind of weird.

The most amusing part of all these title arguments is that, fundamentally, the show is broken into two parts: "Hataraku Maou-sama!" and "The Monstrocity That Came After It."

Additionally, don't you dare bring Working! into this; that show was fantastic, and this doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence.

A clueless watcher would go, oh, there's a dupe title in here, Working'!! is probably the same as Working!!, the site admins must have accidently put it in, lets remove it from the watching list and make it

Nope. It's a way of serializing anime.
The 1st one was "Hataraku Maou sama!"
Then they release "Hataraku Maou sama!!"

if you look closely you will see here the exclamation mark "❗" indicates the difference between both the parts.

So 1st they released Hataraku Maou sama!

then they released Hataraku Maou sama!!

then they released the 2nd season of "Hataraku Maou sama!!"

So, that's why it's called Hataraku Maou sama!! season two.

And yes I agree it's different and kinda weird to do this. But as long as people talk about it it's a win for them.

And it isn't the only anime which did it. For example the series working. The first three seasons of this anime are:

OOPS, skipped the actual season 2. LOL

Literally just did this. Watched 11/12 of this one before I realized my mistake, so I just went ahead and finished the 2nd half first. Haven't watched the first half yet but I think I was able to get most of what was going on from context.

After watching the original run in 2013 needless to say I was very confused at the start.
