I didn't like what they did to that part of the Ogre.

It was much harder for Curren to overcome this trauma of "leaving her back" in the manga and novel, so much so that Nick threw himself among the monsters alone to show her that he wasn't going to abandon her.

Curren only went to the front when she saw that Nick was fighting like hell, and that he was going to die if she didn't.

And finally, this part also starts the development of the romance between the two.

I really didn't like it, it wasn't even close to the excitement that the manga managed to show.
Pretty much my thoughts too. I spoiled myself by going to the manga after ep1 but I feel like they skipped too much of the trust/relationship buildup. They also changed the focus from between Curran and Nick (and the party by extension), to Curran and Tiana (+party by extension).

As much as I was disappointed though, I think it still managed to hit the main plot points, and them rushing it like this means they can cover more content/arcs so it might be good? We'll see how it goes from here.

We're only on the second episode and their group is already on the edge, I wonder how their group will function, Curran seems to keep things to herself, I guess we'll learn more about her in the next episode guessing from the title

Quite good. It's refreshing to have another male in the team. I REALLY am liking Curran too. Hopefully it gets off the standard guild crap though. I don't want a repeat of reincarnated as a sword.

The realistic combat in this anime is a strong point, as it is easy to understand and follows logical sequences. Additionally, the character development is well done and each character has their own distinct personality and motivations that do not revolve solely around the main character. The only downside is that the dialogue quality could be improved, though it is still better than that of the average anime.

Not a bad episode, the party is slowly getting to know each other but I notice that there seems to be a rivalry/trust issues between Tiana and Curran.

Also, we know Tiana's back story but still don't know much about Curran and it looks like we'll get more information on whatever Curran's secret is based on the next episode's title. Lastly, Curran's pendant cracked and I hope she doesn't take it personally, maybe it will tie in her backstory and secret, looking forward to the explanation.

Gave episode 1 a pass as it was mostly backstory and set up, but I'm gonna have to drop this. Nick is pretty ugly at times, the action is a joke, the character interactions are dull and they have no chemistry seemingly by design.

chipmunk/squirrel people quite rare in fantasy shows.
Nick sensei I like him helping the group & talking trust issues in a mature way.
Everyone got teamwork issues, but mage a surprisingly major asshole. good they made up later.
Curran so far dislikes sharing anything.

cute sanpaku witch but this anime is terrible holy shit.
the way they interact with each other is so unnatural, corny and cringe in a non humorous way.
they;re playing this "huhu i don't believe in other people" straight. too forced.

When Nick undressed and see his well-trainned body and abdominal muscles, I thought it would be a hentai. Don't wonder, because studio Seven is involved in the series production.

Curran being part of a party which she is the only person to come out alive, the "Survivors" name is really apt for this party of outcast misfits.

Nick establishing the party rules to get a base, but given each of their backgrounds, trust is something that must be earned, not mentioned, as the party goes on their first quest of killing slimes and culling the miasma. But Tiana forcefully engaging a spell tbat almost hit Curran, this is the party's first trouble of synchronicity.

As an opener after dealing with the slime boss, Nick sits down with the rest to show trust, his way is by revealing what he's good at physically. The others follow suit, and Tiana apologizing to Curran feels unapologetically human. The last bit of dealing with with goblins, and Nick didn't reveal his strength, which is casual. Facing against the goblin boss of an ogre, and Curran finds herself in the sole way to be her best, by believing in Tiana.

Surprisingly enjoyable...? The most human I've felt of any Isekai ever, this is a surprise.

BTW... they went into a Fantasy sewer-looking cave, and end up coming out of a modern Raised-Platform with Windows on the ceiling and sides...

WTF is this building? lol... like Half Fantasy, half Modern. Actually... this reminds me of that one game I saw a Streamer Played... "The Back Room" (where the "floors" constantly change into different settings")

___ ___ ___

HAAA~CHUUU... all nice and warm. Until they start the forest fire, LOL. (but somehow the fire didn't spread, huh...)

And then they went to hunt Goblins. And ends up fighting a Ogre. (that's high intelligent, poor dude... just cause he's a "monster" he has to die)

BTW... so Dragon Girls doesn't count as "Monster" huh....

Imagine ppls killing "dragons" as monsters, then they evolves into Humanoid Dragon Girls, and it's all of a sudden, "Oh they're humans now".

___ ___ ____

LOL @ the ED with 2D fabric dolls.

Tho still quite confusing if this series is happening in one world where Modern and Fantasy is mixed together. (post-2000s Tech mixed with pre-1900s world setting)

Or is this like Bofuri's VR system, two worlds... aka Modern world with Technology and Idols, and Game world with Fantasy Adventure and Magic.

I mean it’s just a standard isekai, but so far it’s decent, I wouldn’t personally watch this it it wouldn’t air every week cus I just don’t enjoy isekais a whole lot, but this anime has some nice moments, curious to see where it goes

Well it's not isekai anyway.
Or I'm missing something but so far I didn't notice any mention about any of the protagonists coming from another world and being resurrected there. It seems to be a plain fantasy anime for now.

Isekai technically means ‘a strange world’ so in that case it would’ve an isekai, but I get the confusion.

Meh it's okay enough to waste your time on.
Plus there's probably not going to be some cringe harem stuff.
Ecchi should also be quite low.

What I don't get, if you make such a series why make it so RPG like and not simply fantasy?

More people are enjoying this show that I expected. That's nice for this show, I'd rather see the show get praised for the little things it does right, than the same old arguments again and again. That said the animation did take a dip, but I expected that for a show like this. People are right though, the ed song is great. I love the animation style they used. Its a breath of fresh air compared to other fantasy/isekai shows that just show still image clips from the show.

Our adventures opening up to each other, sharing their strengths and weaknesses, learning to trust each other... even adding little things like this adds enough weight to make this an above-average fantasy show.

Our adventurers finally form their party and aptly name it Survivors. We get to see them tackle their first few G-rank dungeons while also growing a bit closer and being able to chew away a bit at their mistrust of each other.

I'm happy to see that the anime is placing a heavy focus on the disillusionment and trust issues our party still has. I was worried they would quickly gloss over it and move on with the plot and just somehow make them trust each other and be all hunky-dory, but thankfully that was not the case.

We get to see them wanting to trust the other members of their party and wanting to be able to avoid doubting their intentions. They still have many issues to work through to become a tightly-knit party, but to see the starting bonds of trust being built bit by bit was great.

The most interesting aspect of this anime continues to be how it will handle these personal interactions, the psychological trauma of each party member, and their ability to trust one another, as well as perhaps once more gain some semblance of faith in humanity.

Looking forward to the next episode already. Been surprised by the quality of this anime so far.

Isekai means "Another World"

It was popularized by the "Truck-kun" trope and developed into sub-genres that simply means "a person from another world"

___ ___ ___

As such, if what I posted before.

1 - Modern Tech in Fantasy World or simply born and raised in this world without influences from another world by way of a 2nd conscience or reincarnation = NOT ISEKAI

2 - Modern tech on Earth, Fantasy adventure in Magic world = even if it was by way of a "game" (Bofuri, etc) or a portal/door (Isekai Restaurant, etc) it would have counted as a sub-Isekai. (sub as it's not a full Isekai cause MC can travel between 2 worlds, even if it was a game)

(or a new Isekai genre derived from Otome Game, Tsundere Akuyaku Reijou Liselotte to Jikkyou no Endou-kun to Kaisetsu no Kobayashi-san, that's currently airing, it redefines the Isekai genre as "commenters" from another world (Earth) that can talk and influence Fantasy world (game) without actually traveling between worlds.) (the game world is sentient and time there moves even after the game is closed on Earth, thus an actual world of partly free-will)

3 - Where as if it was a full trapped in another world by way of Game (Log Horizon, etc) or being summoned to another world (shield hero, etc), it would count as Isekai.

4 - Or by way of Death on Earth and Reincarnated into Another world even if the character is born and grow up as childhood (Isekai Yakkyoku, etc), it would count as Isekai.

(or mysterious reincarnation even as an object (Tensei shitara Ken Deshita, etc), it would count as Isekai.

5 - Or a reverse-Isekai traveling from a Fantasy world to Earth world (Hataraku Maou-sama, etc)

6 - And the mentioned fairly recent popular trope of "Otome" game where MC is transported mysteriously into the body of already existing character in a game world. (as either the MC, Villainess or even a side character) (Otome Game no Hametsu Flag shika Nai, Otome Game Sekai wa Mob ni Kibishii Sekai desu, etc). This counts as Isekai.

___ ___ ___

Thus why I am trying to figure out if this series's Modern clothing + Tech + Idols are in the same world as the Fantasy Medieval Adventure clothing...

Cause if this series happens on just ONE world, it's not Isekai.

God this show is so badly directed or something it just feels awkwardly paced. A few animation quirks and continuity boo boos added in. I think the animation around Curran's attack and the resulting Ogre club impact must have sucked out the budget for literally everything else. This dialogue is also barf.

That being said the ending was cute and I like the girl with the big hat.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

I was like what the fuck! They cut out the biggest part in her PTSD trust issue character building plot.

Also what a lame ogre fight. The fight in the manga was awesome. I thought episode 1 was just trying to speed run their traumatic backstory and now here they are Speedruning the healing and trust building.

I'm kinda pissed at how the adaptation is going.

Always appreciate having some realness with characters, instead of just the same old trope of a stereotypical backstory. REAL BETRAYAL HITS DIFFERENT , though they sur sped through their backstories fast...:P. So far I am seeing things that I love and appreciate: the actual RPG adventure; locales, rules and strategems, party setup, discussion of tactics, item collection, an adventurers guild, a tavern, the standard Inn. Monsters and their ways/rules seem acceptable as well too. I dig it. ^<^ ANd what a cute and enjoyable ending.
