Isn't it interesting when the viewer is not mistaken for an idiot, and everything is not chewed on him?

Well, yes, let's go completely into the depths, here we see organizations of the infected organizing genocide, what do you think in a world where prejudice against the infected is already great, will other countries begin to put much more pressure on the infected? And will other countries be ready to conduct a dialogue with those infected from the Republic of Ingushetia?

What ambush are you talking about? We have a desert here, you will not have enough people to surround it on the road to Longmen. The city itself is gigantic. Therefore, excuse me, but your brilliant strategic ideas are nonsense, impracticable from the point of view of human resources.

Not only have you failed to defend the show, you manage to make the setting of Arknights look even more contradictory.

Infected are hated. Infected now commit mass genocide and terrorism. Nobody wants to do anything to the infected anymore? Commence dialogue? Bwahahaha. They're okay suppressing them when they dont do anything. Once GENOCIDE is committed, it's time for dialogue? LMAO

Desert? Ah yes, like deserts are known for being the most obvious place to camouflage large terrorist groups on the move. They are just invisible to the naked eye as they circle around large, nay giant, cities. Terrorists totally have the logistical capabilities of handling enough food and water to support violent infected with no clear discipline that they can intentionally choose a longer route around a massive city in a desert.

Even if you forget the complete and utter ridiculous notion that is your idea that Reunion will take anything other than the shortest route, Reunion which has shown to have clear disorganization at the level of commanding officers (Mephisto, Crownslayer), must have such airtight intelligence control that no organization could possibly figure out a large terrorist organization would take to Lungmen. If it wasn't obvious, that was sarcasm and it would be laughable if no intelligence organization capable of identifying Misha as their target was not able to determine which route Reunion would take.

If anything is nonsense, it's your entire reply which not only fails to address the point of my post, being that of the plot, but also manages to fail itself on every possible level in its own strawman argument and somehow make the show look even more contradictory in the process.

0)Lungman's guards were much more involved in the suppression. Rhodes helped them out as an extra squad lol.

1) The Infected Are Oppressed Worldwide
2) Reunion rebelled in the border town, which is visible on the map, and since the refugees flee to Lungmen, and not to Ursus, it is clear that the other cities of Ursus are far away.
3) In the desert, the terrorists mixed with the refugees.
4) Seriously, they don't have resources after taking over an entire industrial city?
5) Those who entered the Longmen are engaged in agitation among the locals.

What sort of mental acrobatics do you have to do to reach that solution?

My entire post has one mention of ambush and you've somehow constructed your own fantasy debate against it. When has ambush == surrounding? lmao

RI helping Lungmen guard with the suppression of the infected? LOL or do you mean 'suppressing Reunion' which the anime shows the lungmen guards completely failing at? Either way, it's completely besides the point, being why aren't any military forces, police forces, organizations fighting Reunion aside from the time when they've already entered their cities.

Who are you even talking to? Clearly you have absolutely no reading comprehension or have no intention of actually making discussion since you ignore every point I make.

-- Since you completely changed your last response by the time I replied, I guess it's no longer about ambushing anything, but my point still stands that you fail to address any of the points I made

how do you propose to set up an ambush in the desert and how do you propose to find terrorists in it?

this is what interests me
(and please keep it simple, english is not my native language)

However, that is not an explanation or reason for the CURRENT doctor to have extremely weak and confusing motives and fly about to Lungmen on an international terrorist hunt without clarifying his/her own motives, goals, or desires.

The dude literally woke up with no recollection of the past, learning how the world works (just like us) and their current goal is to help Amiya/Rhodes Island because they helped the Doctor who has already seen what the Reunion/RI is trying to do in the evacuation. They have no other choice but to stick with RI.

Inorichi said:

The jump in logic from what they say, to what they do makes little sense. The only thing that's explicitly stated is RI is a Pharma company, which contradicts what happens on screen with RI being more capable than actual armed defenders of the most populous cities.

This point could probably be confusing like you said but the world of AK is pretty harsh and unforgiving which will make sense later on as to why. It is common for organizations to have defense department (which the story is mostly focused on). Just don't compare AK world with our own world and apply the same principles (ex: child labor is common)

Inorichi said:

Learning more about Lungmen after they get there is absolutely fine, perfect. But not explaining "Why are we going to Lungmen?" Then ignoring the entire overarching plot and moving onto a side objective regarding Misha for 1-2 eps is just poor narrative structure.

It was already explained in the "briefing" scene after Doctor's extraction that Reunion's next move would be to take over Lungmen which is why Kal'tsit was already in Lungmen talking to Wei before we even arrive. Reunion movement was a sudden uprising and it started exactly when Doc woke up. I don't know how this is a "poor narrative". Then again the story takes multiple rewatches/rereads where you might learn new things which you may have not picked up on first watch because of how you were unaware and how everything works right at the beginning, take Attack on Titan for example.

Having W appear in episode 3, cutting out all the information about Scout's squad, removing her dialogue about what she got from her interaction with Doctor and Amiya, and using still frames so nothing shows on W's face isn't about impatience or gratification. It's poor series comp.

Agreed, also my biggest complaint. Idk why they scrapped that as it was pretty important and is tied to Darknights Memoir. The whole interaction was quite weird with just Hi and Bye~. Maybe due to ep length limitation. They could probably redo and add the scene in Darknights Memoir movie/ep if it ever gets adapted but it still won't be good.

Am I the only one that thinks a pharmaceutical company choosing to chase and hunt terrorists across Terra is not the logical next step? Even having read the source material there are still elements of the narrative that are poorly constructed and/or portrayed in a way that they are hard to comprehend.

It's very clear that Reunion is going / has gone to Lungmen. Anyone watching the show knows this. But aside from the fact that we are watching the main characters, the protagonists, who are in active conflict with the antagonists, Reunion, what narrative purpose has been presented within the show that actually leads the cast, as a pharma company, to Lungmen? Helping the infected can be done in Iberia, Kazdel, Ursus, or whereever. No reasoning (afaik) has been clearly presented for the organization as a whole to 'hunt' Reunion.

It's never been stated or suggested that cities are incapable of defending themselves. Lungmen do have the LGD who, albeit partially incompetent, are an existing defense force. Isn't Lungmen one of the most, if not the most wealthiest nomadic cities? Why is a pharma company with part infected helping in defending Lungmen rather than merc squads, aside from the necessity for the protagonists to be in the vicinity to take part in conflict with the antagonists?

RI gets involved only in infected related issues around Terra, either to help or "deal" with infected group like Reunion. They always try to reason with them first if ends up in conflict RI doesn't really kill infected unless absolutely necessary. Currently, Reunion movement is a severe threat and is of top priority. They can't stand idly by as they take over Lungmen as well. Watchers/readers relate to the Pharma company from our own world but it's a different case in AK world. Hence the running meme that Rhodes Island is a (P)Harmacist Paramilitary Organization. Also RI has many outposts and base stations setup in different nations of Terra (both medicine and heavy armory for defense) that helps the local infected. The views, ideologies, principles are different from here on Earth, it'd be better if they have some disclaimer like this in the beginning of every episode.

even the little connection and realization W has with Doctor in episode 3 is completely cut from the anime. That would have, at least, started to build the foundations of a mystery alluding to the plot.

Idk what you mean by this as it isn't cut from anime, ep sub difference maybe? W did say that she knows Doctor, she agreed and came to Chernobog only to have a "little reunion" with the Doctor. But leaves abruptly which made the whole scene feel rather unnecessary and weird for first time watchers.

Inorichi said:
Given the still shots for easter eggs in the base and the length of the heli + landing scene, I wouldn't think it's cause of any ep length limitations. So yeah, definitely the most confusing part of this adaptation and why they chose to cut it. As my copium has stated though, the timespan between the end of the anime and the blu ray is unnaturally long, and there is 5 mins of bonus content so, there is a slight possibility it may be fixed in the BD (but doubt it...)

Agreed.

I didn't really cover Doctor's char, but also a lengthy topic imo and less important than the plot.

The Doc doesn't get too involved even in earlier chapters of the game but has good development in future chapters so hopefully they focus more on them and build more personality.

Ah see. So this is exactly where most anime viewers aren't at, imo. This is very easy to understand given knowledge of the game, but when is 'all that above' explicitly stated in the anime? Reunion is a threat, but I don't recall them being stated as the largest threat or top priority in the anime. It also begs the question, which I stated in my last post.

Is Rhode Island just the strongest organization in the world, or only organization capable of defending innocents?

All the answers for these questions are heavy spoilers and they get answered as we progress through the story. We learn things via Doctor but the basic info that they gave us is already good enough to go through for now. Idk how far you are into the game but if you still would like to know

Inorichi said:

Are nomadic cities, especially ones like Lungmen, one of the richest, if not richest, incapable of defending themselves?

Just tell me if LGD or
are sufficient enough to stop Talulah, Patriot, FrostNova, Faust, Mephisto and CS lol. Wei and Chen underestimates Reunion movement as you can see from that meeting. Wei's got nothing to lose by taking up the contract with RI, he thinks his own military casualties would be minimum by using RI. Cities like Lungmen can only defend themselves well against other nomadic cities but they cannot fully prevent infiltration by reunion or refugees seeking for shelter as seen earlier, also how RI infiltrated Chernobog for Doc. Kal is worried that reunion might influence existing slums in Lungmen and then with the numbers they can take over completely from the inside like how they did with Chernobog as said in the meeting.

Inorichi said:

I don't recall it ever being that detailed when explained in the anime. Just Rhode Island helps infected. But ultimately, what I'm saying is either the information isn't there in the anime or it's not clearly relayed to a large portion of the audience without prior game knowledge.

It wasn't even explained in early chapters of the game. We came to know about that in later chapters, which explains the previous actions in early story and it all makes sense. Prior game knowledge isn't required as we were also in the same boat as anime onlies now. Which is why I said it helps in rewatching/reread and getting to know more stuff like this. People are just impatient just like how the other guy mentioned in a different thread. It's not a one-time watch/read story tbh and need to be attentive to a lot of things.

Inorichi said:
Yep, but not necessarily with the anime. It's only a running meme among the players.

I mean how long do you think it would take before people be like "lmao a pharma company with an army"?

Inorichi said:

Yeah, my bad. I meant Amiya not doctor lol. In the anime it's just W saying "ah so your name's Amiya" with a still of her face, when in fact W actually seems to recognize Amiya within the chapter.

Inorichi said:

Again, I don't get what you are saying or how you got mistaken between your own two statements as they are different to each other. It seems to me that you are trying to find more faults when there are none. If you read Darknights Memoir then we know that

LOL @ the random Texas Pocky, that was cute.

This episode tries to explain the purpose of Rhodes Islands and what their goal is.

They also mention there will be many conflicts, as the reason to why Rhodes Islands has combat forces even tho they're supposedly a Medical Organization.

More of this has been explained in the game.

The relationship between Amiya and Misha is well developed, but in each complicated situation a new ally appears to save the group, which is a pity. It would be better to develop the already known characters and reduce the number of new people.
