a few more thoughts on the episode. noticed that Fina reacted a little when Yuna wants to take Shuri along with them to Millela. I think Fina actually wants the trip to be just her and the Bear. in the town.. Fina almost grab Yuna hand.. but a boy pull the Bear away, then people in the town want to give Yuna some fish. The fisherman are really grateful to her for solving the kraken problem. I do wonder if that kraken had a magic stone.. Black Viper had a large stone. So if kraken had stone it would be very huge magic stone. |

End of episode felt a bit suffocated.. not so satisfying for me personally. final score of 6/10 I gave It's quite fun.. but only to that extent, that's all. I thought sometimes critical assessment is needed in order to create the works in more better (in future).. It's not like I don't appreciate a work, but what the artist supposed to do is to create the best work to be able to satisfy their consumers, do i'm right? xDxDxDxD |

Weird energy for this show's final ep... "Hey Fina, wanna come with me on my next trip?" "Nah I'm gonna stay home and carve up monsters" "Oh...well I'd love if you came, but you do you" "Why am I so lonely!?" "You should take a break from harvesting." "Nah, I'm going to keep harvesting. Actually, I'm going to take a break." "Why would you do such a thing, you're already so useful!" ...but for the sake of shipping, I'll allow it. I kinda hate when Japan just puts Japan in fantasy universes. Like, why does there have to be a country that's literally Japan? Why can't it be a country that has food centered around fish and rice but is still it's own thing? Maybe Yuna could add some actual Japanese flavor to it like chopsticks or miso soup. A country's staples, traditions and culture are a complex tapestry of their past and present. Two countries in two different worlds wouldn't just be carbon copies of each other. That's lazy and uninteresting. </rant> Why's Noa just randomly visiting Yuna on her own? She's the lord's daughter. She's prime kidnapping material. This show really could have focused more on Yuna's kidnapping into this world but it has a lot of cute girls so I can't complain too much. I don't really need another season of it, tho- (Season 2 is already confirmed) Goddammit! Fine, I'll watch it if the season isn't too busy. It's very low priority, though. |

Now this is new... I don't recall there ever being this kind of yuri romance drama. It seems like they're really committed to taking this in a different direction to the original story. They're skipping over original plot at lightning speed while spending an absurd amount of time adding unimportant details that were not meant to be there. They have turned something special into a generic trash. I hope they're proud. (I wonder if they thought it would sell better this way: they start with the assumption that their audience has shit taste, so they churn out the shit they think their viewers want to see. Those of us who hoped for something original and refreshing do not matter. That, or they're just lazy fucks that think the original story is too much work to animate so they'll rewrite it to minimize effort. I personally think it's both.) |

For someone who was supposed to be so smart, Yuna not noticing that something is wrong with Fina was a bit of a disappointment. Other than that it was pretty heart warming friendship moment at the end, about time she started to make a traveling party. Overall was a pretty fun watch and will be looking forward to season 2. |

IMO this really should be tagged "Slice of life" at this point. The comic relief isn't enough to hold it up and the bear suit is so OP it makes Isekai Cheat Magician look good. |

i know it's supposed to be cute sisterly love... the kind of relationship Yuna couldn't make in the real world so now she gets to experience this kind of family for the first time and it's adorable... but why did the whole episode have to feel so weird, like the plot of some subpar romance flick T-T |

"All i need is Fina" Big UwU moment right there. Nice to see more relationship building with Fina and Yuna here, it's always nice seeing them together, Sad that more of it only happened in the last episode. Well, The show is done and overall pretty simple show, more on the wholesomeness side of things , nothing amazing but I found it to be enjoyable. Season 2 has been announced already which was kinda surprising. Solid 7 Kumas out of 10 Kumas for me:) |

And again, another wholesome show to add to this season's collection of wholesome shows. RPG based anime, slice of life version, and with lots of bears.. i could already tell that by the name of this anime xd Nothing much to say about it tbh. Yuna is a great character, OP and looks so cute in that bear costume, i feel the need to hug her xd Side characters were also nice, loveable, nothing wrong to point out at them, story is episodic but was surprisingly fun to watch. Good anime to pass the time and just chill. 7/10, waiting for the next season! |

Much handholding and a bear hugging confession. Surprise the harem already went the Fina route, tho feels the most natural. Had a rough start, odd va choice, and a few boring episodes, but the food & business episodes balanced out with extra adorable stuff. Lurina deserves more screentime in s2 for all that hilarity. |

LOL....I didn’t create the ending, that’s just how it appeared to end. I would be interested to know if it was more plutonic or if I was correct that it was actually supposed be romantic. Then again, many of these Isekai anime usually have a much lower age of adulthood and younger marriages. Remember she is in a game, Fantasy World Online. So does age in-game REALLY matter? lol. Plus she’s Japanese so I doubt the FBI would be coming for her. Haha 😂 I can’t wait to see what becomes of a season 2! I’m reading the LN and have been before I knew about the anime adaption. I have to admit considering that the LN was illustrated by 029, you know some of this story is going to be slightly unwholesome. LOL |

I think the ending can be interpreted as platonic or romantic.. depends on what kind of goggles you're wearing. They probably made the ending ambiguous to try and satisfy more people.. well, and if anyone try to arrest Yuna.. as long as it's in the isekai world, she will just destroy them. xD |

Hm, personally, I didn´t want this last episode to have this cheesy drama (still it wasn´t bad per se). But obviously they did it to touch viewers´ kokoro as a finale. So, a very good anime in what it wants to be. Nice for those who are looking for an easy going adventurous anime; cute and enjoyable moments yet there are even a few action scenes to add a bit of exciting moments. Reminded me a bit of Ascendant of Bookworm (though Kuma Bear is way more easy going and Ascendant darker). Atla such a beauty and very hot < 3 xD 8/10 --- PS.: Just realized some people are saying the very ending of this episode implied yuri? LoL wtf |

^ watched an episode of Hiroware, and it was decent. Well, but with my total exhaustion on watching isekai with male leads through the years, just got tired of them and can't push myself to watch more Hiroware. And the Bear's anime had a second season announced, so it seems the Bear has better success than Hiroware. |

So let's have a Chit Chat about something that has been bothering the dog outta me. As I read through these comments people are saying that she got kidnapped into this world. Now if I recall correctly in that black Viper episode she took off her gaming gear talk to her Grandpa(he threatened to stop paying for the apartment) got on the internet checked her funds and then went back into the game. How is she stuck in this world?? Because the black Viper fight happened after she got that bear suit. Then in episode 12 she explains to Fina that she is from Far Far Away and Fina is wondering about if she misses anyone from that world where she's from. So what's really going on?? |

A good anime. I would give it a 7/10 to be honest. I mean it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t the best either. Yuna has a good personality and I like that. The story was good at character development for Yuna, Fina and up to some extent, the side characters as well. The anime missed the part where Yuna even thinks about going back to Earth. There were almost no Earth flashbacks. Yuna’s Earth family/ friends weren’t even there… In the end we got to know how Fina feels. Nice. Wouldn’t mind a season 2. |

Same thing I was wondering; I was not under the impression that she was trapped. On the other hand, I kept wondering why after a while she stopped taking breaks from the game to appear back in her apartment. I mean, she'd have to eat and go to the bathroom in "real" life, wouldn't she? So ... the "trapped" idea makes sense, but I don't remember the anime establishing that that's what had happened. Maybe it was just supposed to be implied, or obvious to people who'd read the source material (unlike me)? I also don't see romance in the ending; they love each other and decide they want/need to be together, but I don't see how that necessarily equates to romantic love. Sisterly love, sure. An extension of Yuna's heart and caring for others into something more personal, sure: A closeness she didn't feel for anyone in the "real" world, so a key moment of character growth, both for her and for Fina. I also agree with others that this part of the character development seemed disappointingly rushed in this episode, though it's not *un*developed in the episode - and there were hints and leanings in prior episodes, too - but it would have been nice to have seen that character development in Ep. 12 take place over several episodes instead. Finally, I like how Yuna's situation raises questions about whether these characters are NPCs or real people (and whether that's even a meaningful distinction). I wish they'd taken more time to explore those themes, though. But I'm satisfied with the "feel good" focus - I gave the series 7/10, though like another poster said, for me it was probably not as strong as some of my other 7-rated series, but definitely better than my 6-rated series. In any case, it made me happy overall, so I'm glad they're getting Season 2. |

In any case, it made me happy overall, so I'm glad they're getting Season 2. So I'm not surprised the two of you were confused by this, because the anime screenwriters for some reason jumbled up the order of events, particularly in the first episode in a way that almost seemed purposefully designed to confuse people. I think even a lot of novel readers were left wondering if they'd changed the story from an Isekai to a VRMMO one. Episode 1 starts by adapting chapter 39 of the novels where she hears of the Black Viper. This is from LN volume 2, long after she's been transported to the other world (I should note here that while it's not been explained where/what this world is, it is not the same world as the VRMMO game she used to play as Yuna never shows any recognition of either the characters or the towns she visits as being from that game, so she hasn't just been trapped in her game a la Sword Art Online or Log Horizon). It then transitions to Yuna taking off her VR headset, which is all the way back to Chapter 1 in LN volume 1, on Earth. Yuna says "Time to start the game", falsely giving viewers the impression what they're about to see is a VR game when it's actually the fantasy world she gets transported to in volume 2. It then shows from the end of chapter 39 through 41, the aftermath of her defeating the Viper. All of this chronologically should actually have been shown round about episode 4. After this we have Yuna coming out of a VR session, again giving the false impression everything you've just seen took place inside a game when it's actually happening in whatever world she gets transported to, several months after this scene of Yuna in her Earth bedroom. She then calls her grandfather, before we get the one scene of her actually playing the VR game for real, where you can see that her game avatar has different silver hair & a different face. Then episode 2 continues on from this, when, after trying to log into the VR game she instead gets transported into the fantasy world by some unknown person, where the rest of the series takes place. So, to sum that up, the chronological order for the series is - scenes in episode 1 showing Yuna in her room on Earth & then starting up her VR game at the end - episodes 2 & 3 - scenes not in Yuna's room in episode 1 i.e. everything related to the Black Viper - episode 4-12 with everything after the opening of episode 2 taking place in a fantasy world, not inside a game & Yuna has no way of returning to Earth. There are actually a bunch of other things they reordered from the novels on top of this, but those could be argued to have actually taken place in a different order in the anime universe than the LN universe so I won't try to list them. I hope I've been able to explain the first episode in a way that makes sense, at least more so than the nonsensical way the anime told it. |

Yeah... all right... so, regarding the question of whether (or when) Yuna gets isekai'd, there are three noteworthy places in Episode 1: Early on, Yuna makes her first appearance and offers her assistance to the guild manager lady and the village boy Kai. Then it cuts to Yuna lying in bed wearing her VR headset, and she says "Right, game start" (sub) / "All right; let's get this game started" (dub) Since that follows without break or transition from the previous scene, it suggests that she ended her game session (took a break or something) and is now rejoining to continue playing. Based on this sequence of scenes, her declaration of "game start" / "let's get this game started" seems to be her way of saying "let's get this quest underway." In other words, it looks as though this "at home in bed" scene is in temporal sequence with the rest, not a flashback. With no other indication that it is a flashback, though, we would have to go with the "in sequence" interpretation since we'd start with the presumption that the filmmakers know what they're doing (until seeing more evidence to the contrary). Then near the end of the episode, after Yuna reports to the guildmaster that the Black Viper is dead and says, "So this means that quest is completed" (sub) / "All right; I guess that finishes up that quest!" (dub). The way she says that frames the scene as taking place in a game. Then it cuts to a shot of Yuna sitting up from her bed, flipping up the VR headset, and saying "All right, the event is perfectly cleared" (sub) / "Well, another day, another perfect in-game run." Again, following directly from the previous scene, this too looks like it takes place in direct sequence. At the end of the scene, after checking her stocks and talking to her grandfather, she resumes playing the game, declaring that she'll do so to help her mood. So far, nothing here suggests that she's anywhere but in the real world playing a game on and off. When her game session resumes, we see a character flying in while Yuna delivers a voice-over introducing the game - seeming to provide some episode-ending further context for the audience: "World Fantasy Online, the world's first VRMMO fantasy RPG." She goes on to say: "Right now, this is the world that I live in." (sub) / "And what's more, it's the world I now live in" (dub). This dialogue is the most ambiguous in the episode, but this all again suggests that she's playing a game, not living in an alternate world, based on what's happened so far (thanks to the editing), including the character we see briefly here flying in with the game startup: That character fly-in suggests that this is Yuna's avatar but either with a slightly different look or perhaps it's just an avatar for a secondary account that she also uses. Either way, because of the misleading editing, it's highly unlikely anyone would conclude that we're seeing anything other than Yuna playing a VR game. In that context, the final thing she says there about this being the world that she lives in makes it sound like she's a recluse who spends all of her time in-game, which is also reinforced by her very brief time away from the game during this episode. (And that context would also make sense of the possible interpretation that she might be using multiple accounts, or even playing multiple games/worlds.) So if the audience is supposed to understand that the scenes in-world are of an isekai'd Yuna actually stuck in the game world as a real place, and that the apartment scenes are some kind of flashback to her pre-isekai'd past life on Earth, ... well then, this is a colossal failure of editing. I'll post more analysis after rewatching Ep. 2. g- |

Okay... things become much clearer (in some ways) in Ep. 2, and somehow I missed that the first time around. So Ep. 2 starts out with another brief introduction of the game World Fantasy Online to the audience via Yuna voice-over. She's been playing the game frequently for the past year and receives her bear gear as a gift from the administrators. Clearly a flashback to a time before the events in the previous episode. After she answers some odd survey questions from the administrator-agent, the agent says thank you and then says, "Please enjoy the new world," as Yuna turns away from her and toward a space where there's a flash of light. Her nonchalance in the scene suggests that she's going through a normal entry procedure to jump into the game proper. Still, what the agent means by "new world" isn't explained here; it could be Yuna really being sent to a new reality; it could be that Yuna's entering a new world in-game (like a new server or new DLC); or it could simply be the agent suggesting that Yuna's game experience will be fresh with this new gear. But then after the OP sequence we see that Yuna is disoriented: she did not expect to arrive in an unfamiliar world in an unexpected location. Her appearance has changed (looking like she did in her apartment "in real life," with the turquoise hair), she doesn't have access to game controls, and she receives an email message from "god." On top of that, her character stats have been reset to level 1. To Yuna, it seems that the administrators are putting one over on her. But the evidence is mounting that it's possible she's no longer on Earth playing her game but is truly in a new world. And a bit later, Fina has to manually harvest the wolf, which doesn't disappear after being killed; this seems to confirm the transformation. But Yuna's frame hasn't changed yet (she's still acting as though she's in game and intends to look for other players), so with the (erroneous) frame established by Ep. 1, I can see why some people (including me) would have missed the isekai factor. In fact, around 12:50 in Ep. 2, Yuna looks in the mirror, sees her r/l reflection, and declares that she can't deny it anymore - she's been isekai'd. (I guess I was distracted at that point or something! Or maybe I took too long of a break after Ep. 2-3 before resuming the series and just forgot.) If Ep. 1 had had *any* indication that the apartment sequences were flashbacks - say, maybe showing us her then-in-game avatar looking different than her "present-day" in-world self - then the editing choices might not have been so misleading. But here we are. g- |

this is a nice, pleasant show. touches on friendships and yuna's good samaritan nature i thought this last episode was one of the better ones. it presented a challenge that yuna couldn't just OP her way through. i also thought the whole "god" aspect early on was intriguing, but then it just disappeared. this show is a 6/10. it's a very good 6/10, but i think it's still a 6/10 nonetheless my 6/10's are generally shows that have good aspects but also have some really bad episodes or stretches of episodes that make me consider dropping it. off hand, yuma bear only had one episode that i thought was bad (the ice flower? episode) and i never considering dropping it. i enjoyed it from episode 1 to 12. but it just lacked any type of conflict whatsoever. yuna's biggest problems were trying to find rice, miso, soy sauce, etc., or wanting to sleep, or not wanting everyone in the kingdom to know how OP she is. wow...what a tough life... and my 7/10's i feel are generally more "compelling" than the story in yuma bear. a 7/10 isn't a great show, but it's very likely that a some point in my viewing it was at that great level (whether it was certain episodes or arcs), before falling back down to just a "good" level. yuma bear was never in that great level to me. it was very consistently in that 6/10 range, with maybe a couple 7/10's, and one 4/10 or 5/10 (the ice flower) episode also, this totally started to feel like it was in the early stages of becoming a shojo ai at the end. that's fine. the two girls can love each other like that if they want i have no idea if there's more manga content they could adapt into an anime, but if there is i'd watch a second season |

So, this show was all about glorious japanese cuisine? Well, besides the stupidity showed in the characters which all had their brains removed by fluffy cotton-balls. Every girl was fawning for the cute abomination called Yuna, which resembled a bit a bear. Even her "real" bears were giving me diabetes. Overall her cheat-powers were not really fleshed out. It was too much cheat without any reason, as to why I was wondering why she wasn't just made the god of this world. Seriously, there was not one threat to her ever. Every bit of "struggle" shown felt like it was hanging on a very thin thread of narration. Anyways 6/10 wouldn't recommend... |

The dub version just finished, didn't it? I may go back and watch that version too; hopefully the translation and VA are also decent. A sweet & relaxing show overall (even if some people aren't capable of enjoying this kind of show or can't see past their biases to notice its strengths). g- |

RIP volume 5, the majority of which gets crammed into the first 10 minutes of episode 12. Despite the whole volume basically being about the logistics of dealing with the fact that Yuna decided to dig a massive tunnel on a whim it was stupid amounts of fun. |

In my opinion this is a very good funny and cute series. I'm waiting for season 2. Great final episode. |

Wow, that stuff between Fena and Yuna pissed me off. She OBVIOUSLY looks sad, and then when she OFFERED you to go with her, she said no. So stupid, it actually was making me angry. MAKE her take a break, she's like 10 years old she shouldn't be working that much and she's like your little SISTER and you keep blowing her off. |

And I also noticed that episode 2 and 3 should be episode 1 and 2 and episode 1 should be episode 3 and I'll tell you guys y because in episode 3 that should be episode 2 she gets the nickname the bloody bear and she got called that in episode 1 and she also defeats the black viper so how does that work that's why I say they should make that episode 3 instead of episode 1 |

Welcome to the MAL forums, @TheWhiteghost. :D That's a good observation about her nickname. We had discussed the confusing episode order, either earlier here or in another discussion, but yeah: Basically they were doing a flashback to her old life when they showed her in her apartment. The way they set it up and structured the episodes was definitely confusing, though. g- |

fun ride if nothing else. the actions were pretty meh, wonder if yunall have a somewhat 'serious' fight later on to up the ante since she was practically a ranker before she got isekaid. |
anime/manga version of steam would be awesome - https://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=1625396 |

Final episode completely ruined the show. Went from a solid 7/10 to a 2/10. Way to completely ruin the characters. |
