| Not sure what I just saw. I haven't played the game whatsoever but I thought I'd give it a try since the brand seems really popular. I don't understand how something can be quite this unique but so cliche it's cringy and foreseeable. Bad guy appears, breaks havoc, suddenly allied hero rises, enemy is like :O, but they completed what they were supposed to do and left. Now where have I seen this again... Animation was OK. Storyboard: did they use one?. Music/Audio are decent. IMO it was an average episode. I just hope it doesn't get bombarded by 10's by the hardcore game enthusiast audience regardless of the what they give us. Let's see what happens in the future episodes. (As a loli paradise it ain't bad though) |

| As a fan of the game, this was not a bad episode, but I’m still salty about my waifu Akagi’s distorted face in several moments of the episode, especially those derpy eyes. Unicorn, laffey, and Ayanami so cute though. CleveBro being CleveBro, though her screaming made me cringe sometimes. I hope we get to see more ships next episode, I wonder if we’ll ever get to see PR ships like Monarch and Ibukek. |

They do quarrel sometimes also. They have a standard normal sibling relationship iirc. In the game, Akagi is a yandere obsessed with having commander (i.e. the player assuming the role of commander) for herself within the scope of her love affairs, so it makes no sense for her to be sexual with her sister. |

| That was a really nice watch. So much service for the fans and those who've enjoyed the games and the girls. Laffey's introduction put a big smile on my face. Drunk Laffey is best Laffey. Cleveland and Enty also getting plenty of screentime. Rather surprised they bothered animating Norfolk, like every other minor shipgirl was mostly just in a still frame but she had actual animated bits of her clumsiness. Well I'll just be enjoying what I can of this even though I've dropped the game a while back despite putting like a year into it. |

| This isn't doing it for me like Kancolle did. Setting that comparison aside, I had a bunch of issues: 1. The writing was just god awful. 2. The vocal direction given to some characters is cringe worthy. 3. The blending of CGI could have been better (though Kancolle was significantly worse) 4. The character abilities made no sense. Last time I checked, boats do not fly. Every fictional series gets a single freebee - a no-questions asked plot driver that defies science. Everything else must be grounded or very well explained near the time it was used. Anything more is asking too much of the viewer and can be seen as a deus ex machina or the writer trying to write themselves out of a corner. Having not known what Azur Lane was coming into this, I was sort of excited. I've heard good things about it and I've had the app advertised to me on mobile to no end (though I've always ignored ads). What I got here was very disappointing. All I can say is that I genuinely hope this is a good adaptation for those who know more about the series. It may not be to my tastes, but I really hope it does justice to the source for those who really care. |
| I dunno about this one. I'll just say that this is NOT a good first impression for a game adaptation that apparently many fans were looking forward to. A lot of questionable CGI usage here and there, introduction of all these characters from the get-go, a proper lack of siegeway into the battle itself. They didn't take the first episode nice and easy, which would've turned out far better, tbh. |

| This first episode was...unexpected ? So far I don't like it (plot and characters are especially uninteresting), animation is kinda ok, the CGI was correct but that was still CGI. Nothing exceptionnal from the OST as well I don't like dropping shows, but I'm almost considering it for this one Maybe the next episodes shall convince me |

| FUCK YES they showed Bismarck, though it was only for like a second. Hopefully there is more of her in the future. I'm assuming there will be because I can't imagine not being in the anime. Overall I liked the episode and it was very entertaining for me, though I may be a bit biased because I have been playing the game for over a year now and I really like all of the characters. It is fun to see them in animated form and hear their battle lines in the show. However, there were two negative/weird things that stood out to me:
Neither of these things are in the game, and the second point is especially strange because neither Akagi nor Kaga show any siscon tendencies in the game itself and it feels like their characters have been warped in the anime. Either way, I think the show is off to a good start in spite of those negatives. Enterprise was cool as usual (and she was my first oath in the game), and based on that ending theme, it looks like my theory that the story would have the Japanese/German ships start off as enemies but then join together with the Allies to fight the Sirens was correct. |

| I play the game a lot and, to be fair, this first episode was way more than I expected. I'm not really into yuri and I don't mind it but they really went all-out with that initial scene with Akagi and Kaga compared to what is present in the game (and the giant animal thingy was never shown in the game as well.) I also liked how they handled the CG versions of Enterprise and Unicorn though I can't say the same about the other CG elements but still, they are not bad. I'm expecting them to keep this level of animation but I'll be surprised if they step it up close to the finale if it doesn't get worse. |

| as a fan of casually playing AL off and on since last year this shit was better than i was expecting mainly after how much of it's been under wraps with a few pv's here and there. while i agree with a poster stating the storyboard was a mess normally like kancolle would only show like a small fleet while AL on the other hand was like lets show every single early starter ship so that they can all get screentime lol the amount of actual fanservice was staggering for one episode with the amount of ships they showed. praying they go into showing some of the newer ones as well one thing about AL theirs a ship girl for every kind of person. just happy ma girl cleave is one of the mains shit also looks pretty good too surprised by the quality of the action |
