I just can’t get over how lan Zhan kept the wine and the flutes because they were the only things he had left of wuxian.

This episode went by way too fast but it left me in confusion, as did the finale episode of season 1). Usually I avoid forums because of spoilers, but apparently there are flashbacks in season 1 and I never realised that they were flashbacks (hence the confusion). I do wonder though why all the characters called Wei Wuxian by that name as opposed to the name of the guy whose body he's inhabiting, like they're doing in the first episode of season 2.

On another note, the novel this show has been adapted from has been translated officially into English, yay.

This also confused the everliving shit out of me. I completely missed the text mentioning it was a flashback and just thought it was just a weirdly done transition. Spent the rest of season 1 wondering how no one made the connection between him and the Patriarch, wondering why no one ever mentioned him. When everyone called him Wei Wuxian I somehow just blew it over as some weird Chinese naming convention. Then the end of season 1 came, left me confused as hell, and I eventually puzzled it out. I feel like an idiot in retrospect but it was mad confusing.
