We got some more insight into how Hyakkimaru fights and sees objects in this episode.
Also the demon dressed up as the village chief was pretty predictable but it was a fun episode.

and what was that last scene supposed to mean? guess the next episode will explain things

My guess is that since Hiakkimaru's dad made a deal with the demons to guarantee the prosperity of his lands, as the demons die the protection they granted him weakens and more misfortune befalls him.

Also, Hiakkimaru gets back a part of him that was taken by the demons during his birth every time he kills one, like with the skin. Since they are a part of him maybe fragments of his soul also return to him in the process, and that's why the monk looks confused at the air while Hiakkimaru is in pain after recovering a part of him.

Why he's totally mute or just ignoring Dororo?

Yeah, I realized that like a week ago/and I even read the manga/, I'm pretty bad at this girl and boy thing.

I still keep messing up her gender though, since when I first saw her she reminded me of Astro-boy and well...
In the original he is a boy. Not sure why they would make it a girl here.

1. Do you think you were better at his age?
2. He got a very rough life . I do not know if this version will related it, but it would be nice. They spend 1 or 2 episodes telling his stories in the original and boy it is tragic especially how his mom died. I do not want to spoil it, but I am just saying this: you underestimate him.

This series has been great so far I love the story. It would actually work quite well in a modern setting as well. I think Dororo is there to bring a bit of light in all the darkness even if she is annoying at times.

Another great episode! It seems like it will be episodic with a new demon every week but have the overarching plot of Dororo and Hyakkimaru's journey.

It seems like he'll get a body part back every time he defeats a demon, I'm really curious to know what all he's missing and how he'll adapt to regaining each one. This time it looked like he regained his nervous system, represented by the yellow in his body, which is unfortunate timing for him because of the injuries he sustained during the earlier battle. Here's to hoping he gets his voice back soon!

I'm glad Hyakkimaru and the old man reunited, hopefully they'll journey on together. The plot of this episode was predictable but still a great one nonetheless. The fight seemed easy for Hyakkimaru but I feel like the demons will get stronger as they go along or his regained body parts will hinder him in some way until he adapts to it. Either way, I'm looking forward to see what happens next!

Also it was sweet to see Hyakkimaru showing concern for Dororo at the end, and funny how he let Dororo lead him around. It seems like he's a pretty good guy, and perhaps not just in it for revenge.

I love when people who don't know shit about this series try to start playing moral police, especially with a series that's 50 years old. To the two idiots responding to me, you're wrong. Plain and simple. I won't delve deeper for the sake of not spoiling anyone, but please get off your high horses trying to shame people in regards to material you obviously don't know shit about. I'm quite proud of myself that i figured out by the first scene alone that huge head guy isn't a bad guy, he just leads people to having money (maybe only one form of happiness, could have been something else entirely that makes one a happy person).

I love the soul theme and how the blind can see it. Now what i wonder:

- Hyakkimaru might have gained the nervous system back, how will he go at demons from this point? Surely he will suffer pain from it and can't go all out like that.

- Also it will be highly interesting how Hyakkimaru changes from gaining various aspects of his body back, will he eventually not be able to see the soul?

So he ended up getting his nervous system at the end. That explains the reason he felt no pain when he got stabbed by the demon in the fight. The addition of pain, a sensation he has never felt before, could really spice things up a lot. Loved this episode just like the last one. I can't wait for what's to come and the desperation shown in the opening makes me think that it could get pretty dark.

Episode 2 wasn't any better compared to episode 1, but of course it was amazing and that guy with the bell was crazy spooky.
I am a little afraid of the possibility of this show to become less and less darker per episode so that it would not be any spooky or scary, but we will see.

really nice of hyakkimaru try to comfort dororo in his way, we didn't see much of his character yet personality-wise, but it made me like him quite a bit more. i'm also excited to see how their friendship is gonna develop. i'm a sucker for healthy support systems, thought i don't know if i'll get it here since this is my first contact with this universe, but i can still hope right? anyways, i'm really satisfied with this so far!

This show's looking pretty good, have high hopes for it. I love how they managed to make the little kid actually likable. Kid sidekicks in anime are usually the worst (Berserk's Isidro, Claymore's Raki, etc).

Stil a bit confused about the regained body part/organ, though, some people are saying it's the nerve system, so I'm gonna go with that xD.

Another proof of it being his nerve system is that when he was fighting the demon he got impaled by one of its arms but kept fighting. Its only at the end, after receiving his nerves back, that the pain comes and hits him hard. That's why he falls to his knees. Imagine if the first feeling you ever felt in your life was the pain of a fist-sized hole through your shoulder.

Yeah, I rewatched the ending and cought that, it's kinda heartbreaking .. Really, this guy's story is one of the more tragic ones out there . . . but also kind of badass xD

I'm eager to see what happens when he regains his basic human senses - sight, hearing, speaking, smell. Will he be able to speak at all, I mean, has he ever even heard someone's voice before?? Though he can read and write, so wonder how he learned that... So many questions, I'm very hyped for this show !

It's really unfamiliar to have a narroter in anime and it's something I must get used to, but I see why they want to keep him.

I think Dororo is just glad to have someone, who's not mean or aggressive to them and someone they could talk to and it's a kid crush.
I really like their relationship.
And omg this little brat is so cute and witty and has such a rough life. My mother instincts want to hug and adopt them. <3

Also I'm feeling kind of sorry for Hyakkimaru for not seeing anything except the aura of people and demons. At least he's seeing the true nature of living beings.
But in the end he tried to comfort Dororo, that was cute.

It was really obvious that she is the demon, if he is reacting to her, but it was still well done and the fight scene and monster design were so good.

So that other thing was this traveler's spirit.
And I also think it's the nerve system, because you were seeing these nerve tracts.

The question is: Why and how the hell did you learn writing? Tactile?
HOW do you eat, if... well, I must rely on my suspense of disbelief here, I guess.

Please tell me where I stated that there was any sort of romance present in this show? I was defending someone else who said it because a bunch of children got triggered over the aspect. I personally didn't say anything about it, but way to make yourself look like a complete idiot. Next time learn to read.

At last we know the name of the mysterious monster killer.
I like the dynamic between Dororo and Hyakkimaru, like brothers.
The monster of this episode was not bad, although it gave me a bit of sorrow when Dororo mentions that Bandai in his human form resembled his mother.
The old blind man appears again and helps Dororo to better understand Hyakkimaru and how he is able to see.
I was surprised to learn that the leader of the village was able to kill travelers with the help of Bandai to obtain money.
Good detail of Hyakkimaru when presented properly, now he and Dororo stopped being strangers and can continue their journey.
Something that I loved apart from the animation, was the OST which is very good, today I was surprised.

I really too like Dororo thought the monster was that giant head guy. I hope he haunts them for eternity for what they've done to him and the other traveler's. What sickened me the most was that they were still protecting that evil spirit and were saddened that it vanished. That was a badass slash by that guy, his skills are impressive I wonder where did he learn them.

I'm also glad they explained how he sees, this show is very very good so far. Makes me hype for the next episode.
