Hello Moryou no Hako flashbacks. Even the main character looks like one of the main characters in MnH.

This arc is like 500x better than the previous two. The first one is still my favorite though. I like how sporadic it seemed, with the random train flashbacks, and how the main guy is all troubled and angsty for seemingly no reason, but then it all ties together at the end.

I really like the idea of this narrative structure. A writer transcribing a story that happens to have elements and themes that relate to his past life, and he struggles with those feelings while transcribing it. Very interesting. It's like two stories in one.

Amazing. And even more amazing because it feels very, very similar to Mouryou no Hako. Same kind of animation, same kind of characters (sort of), and literally the same music as in Mouryou. Really good. This might end up being my favourite arc.

This is the story I am enjoying the most, I like above all the mechanic of storytelling, with all those flashbacks that flows naturally with the actual plot and the connections with the characters of his adaptation script that seem to take life and haunt him so well..

Also the story in itself is really good and romantically sad.

Damn this is complex. 3 stories changing all the time: author's past, author's present time (transcribing Melos's story) and Melos's story.

I thought i was the only weird one for feeling the BL vibe throughout the episode x.X but thank god :P I am liking this arc much better than the previous two arc. The art and animation for this arc is amazing! A lot more fluid than the previous episodes!

That was only 24 minutes? Despite being heavy enough to have been an entire film, and yet there's another episode after this? I'm so hyped.

My jaw was left agape. It's not that he didn't show up... Joushima showed up and WATCHED HIM LEAVE? WHAT??

But in retrospect, I feel that Joushima did it for his friend's sake? Maybe by having Takada go to Tokyo by himself he'll make a name for him or take that big first step. Joushima has always been very supportive of him after all... That or he failed to make it on time, due to doubt.

It's more brotherhood than anything, not yaoi. (C'mon people, it's strong friendship.) And also about doubt and betrayal. Takada looks up to Joushima, whether it's his personality, his popularity, his kindness or the confidence that he holds... Joushima is Takada's support and motivation. Takada highly values him as an individual, probably as a role model or ideal. Joushima has always, always met his expectation and even gone beyond them in his support for Takada. Look at the way he's always surprised by Joushima and it's obvious. So when Joushima seemingly reaches out for help, Takada takes it without a doubt in his heart because he can finally return that sense of gratitude. And then he's betrayed by this esteemed individual he had absolute faith in. :/

"Oh why do Japanese still touch ancient Greek and Roman stories, when they so gloriously fail at it... The same goes for Dionysios who as a proud Greek for unknown reasons wears the equipment of the common Roman soldier."

Hmm, well in this case I immediately thought it was because they were writing for a Japanese audience that was derived from the play that was intended for Roman audiences. Hence why they described it as of Greek origin in Roman literature. Yeah, I can't speak much about the 'blatant' plagiarism you talked about.

I have not seen the Japanese touch upon the above two so I can't even speak about why they don't follow the work faithfully. The few works that was taken from China is mostly changed to fit a Japanese audience (personalities namely), and it's honestly no big deal imo (Three Kingdoms? Journey to the West?)
Nothing can happen until you swing the bat.

Quite interesting so far. Really nice how three time periods are going on together.

Prince of Tennis mangaka designed the characters here so extra gay. Jk, I like the bromance so far.

Dang, this episode was really well done IMO. Loved the way they tied in Takada's work with his past. Definitely getting some yaoi vibes though, with the Romeo and Juliet stuff and them going to run away together :P The art is really nice in this episode too. I can't believe Joushima just watched him leave though!!! No wonder Takada's got some trust issues ... the parallels between the two stories are really interesting. I bet that Joushima will watch this play and they'll meet again or something? :O Either way, asking if it's worse to be waiting or keeping someone waiting ... what an interesting question :P I see that Melos is voiced by the main seiyuu this time :P

“Run, Melos!” is the only story that I fully enjoyed among the series. And I’m writing the comment after finishing watching the whole series.
Kokoro is not bad. I loved the idea of displaying what happened from different POV. But I was also informed by some novel readers that the studio added non-canon plots in the 2nd ep to show their own understanding while made the anime only misunderstand Ojou-san who never slept with K in the novel. Anyway, I will read the novel afterwards to judge it by myself.

Back to this story, the way they switched between the real world & Melos’s world was quite interesting and creative. It not only brought out the issue the main character had, but also showed how it still haunted him in his present life. Love the fast pace we had, just the right one to make me thrilled without feeling too quick.

Imho, it does feel a bit yaoi, but be it love or friendship, it’s still a great story nevertheless.
BTW, the character designs from Takeshi Konomi (the author of "Prince of Tennis") are quite eye candies.
Also thumbs up for the amazing art & animation.

That two BL moments xD.

The exposition is fabulous. So the writer left his friend behind. I like how they switched scenes.

I felt that this arc will ended up OK. 4/5

I thought the arcs before were either a bit too boring, or a bit too weird... but this episode, man. It was great! I feel like my opinion on this anime was swayed almost instantly. Looking forward to see the conclusion!

It really is something when a book you're reading suddenly unearths forgotten memories of the past~ I know that feeling too, buddy.

I guess that bishonen friend of his made him go to Tokyo on his own so he'll be able to prove to himself that he's actually good at writing and stop doubting himself as always. Guys from the theatre are usually pretty flamboyant so I don't mind the vibes I picked up on the way.

This one was by far the best episode. As a writer I know the feeling of giving your past experiences a brush of paint so it fits a story, be it a painful or treasured memory... This was so nicely done. And the animation was top-notch.

I don't know if it's because I've grown up in the theater world, but I absolutely love how it's being represented. Yes, it's 1935-50 in Japan, but theater doesn't change much, at heart the way stories are performed are the same.

What an episode, I expected there isn't going to be a lot of meat to the script cause I already know most of the story, it's quite short and it's not like they will go into every single detail, but they went way above and beyond for this. Those cherry blossoms, the lighting, I love to inject Nakamura's directing quirks into my veins.
