| I feel very mixed about this one. For most of the episode, I was annoyed by the extreme shonen emotions flying about, especially Reiji flipping out and stuff. Aila's story reminded me of issues I've had with work though, so I could understand her problems (though I'm not a mind-controlled Gunpla fighter). Also, seeing Aila decide to change after seeing Reiji's strong sense of self vs her always wearing a mask (both figuratively and literally) was a cool piece of character development. One thing that kind of bugged me but kind of didn't - why couldn't she dodge that last attack? It didn't seem particularly tactical or anything. Perhaps she more "didn't want to dodge". I just wish that this show let the main characters win more from clever skills and plans instead of plot armor. The end of this one was kind of over-the-top, flipped into comedy, but it also gave some foreshadowing about Reiji and others. I don't know what to expect from the rest of the series at this point, but I'm gonna keep on watching. |
