i dont like how easily i can guess why people hate the 2nd half of the manga without even reading any spoilers but i really enjoyed the show so im gonna leave it at that and try not to think about it

@Reckarella I just read the wikipedia synopsis of the second half and there is one sentence in it that makes it very clear why people hate it and it was not at all what I would've guessed. I will say that I don't like it either and can't imagine why anyone thought it would be a good idea to make the story like that.

Anyway, just gonna pretend the series is just what was animated and enjoy that forever. This show is probably the most realistic (if extremely positive) portrayal of adulthood and kids that I've seen. Kouki in particularly is very well written. He's a total derp but very well meaning like a lot of boys his age actually are. Rin is almost too perfect but six year-old girls are often really quite sweet when they set their mind to it. And in general its nice to have a series where everyone is so caring and doing their best. This feels quite similar in a lot of ways to Sangatsu no Lion but it fixes everything that made me dislike it so much. Everyone is still really sweet and earnest but it doesn't feel like a bunch of overwrought nonsense so everyone can do their trauma dump.

this show makes me feel such really strong gap moe to the point of thinking I'd want a kid to raise too lmfao I never thought I'd ever feel this way.
