| So if I'm correct, the loop only works in the perspective of one person, otherwise Rika would've known about her previous life in the academy. Meaning the Rika we see in Satako's loop is a new Rika every single time. Rika had a dream and she wanted her best friend to join, she had the option to say no but instead forced herself to go through with it. She's tried to help her with the hardships but as Rika explained herself she pushed her away despite being handed help from Rika. Satoko's being selfish af here, intentionally using the loop because her mind is stuck in the past, she doesn't want to let go of her easy life in Hinamizawa and blames Rika for having a dream. A dream she had because she had to sit through 100+ years of memories, good ones and a LOT of bad ones! |

| Wow Satoko is such an awful person. I know this has a sequel where Satoko is alive, but I really hope it will end with Satoko either in prison or in a psychiatric hospital. Probably not, but still. |

| "I believe what you said"... that line from the opening makes so much sense now. I sort of understand where satoko's coming from but that doesn't justify her actions... not one bit. the future she's suffering from her own mistaken choice is the one that rika fought so hard to attain, so holding her back in the prison called hinamizawa is not very different, actually it's far more cruel than the the prison that's called st. lucia for her. what's very different between them is that rika had no choice but to go through all those timelines to save herself and her friends, while satoko could choose her own future for herself. she just made a mistake by making that decision heavily relying on her feelings to stay together with rika, when there could be other ways to go about it. |

| People siding with Satoko is crazy to me. She litterally admitted to not taking Rika's help because she didn't want to be pitied, she did this to herself. Rika said she would be there to help her and when Satoko is offered that help she says no. I get why some people might sympathize with her but not all out agreeing with her actions. Rika obviously doesn't remember her life in the school because in the start of the season she has no memory of it and who killed her. Satoko could've said no and that's that, never go to the school. With age friends grow apart and barley get to hang out together, and that's natural. Satoko is too stuck in the past so she'd rather kill her friend over and over again to try to get what she wants, without thinking that maybe she should just let Rika fufill her dream. |
