| I wasn't expecting to like Jojo's Bizarre Adventures, but hot dam this is good! F in the chat for the OG Jonathan Joestar, what a legend :'( Yet 'someone' will continue his legacy soon! (is what I understood from the episode's final moments) |

| Oh god not Johnathon! He didn't have to die after he got married! But he did! Regardless though this was a great way to end Phantom Blood overall. Erina managed to escape with the successor of the Joestar line in tow, but again sadly Johnathon was lost at sea and Dio is presumably dead once and for all. I feel on the whole this part was decent but I feel it suffered from not knowing what it wanted to be and I think in the last several episodes I think picked up as soon as Dio was made a vampire and we had Speedwagon in our team, I liked Johnathon as a protagonist but I really feel like we needed less focused on the drama and more on the action which I'm thankful that's what Battle Tendency is gonna do now. I have seriously heard a lot about Joseph Joestar and honestly I think things are gonna a whole lot better because I feel like I got a taster of what the rest of Jojo is gonna be like so I know what I'm getting myself into for the near future of the last several episodes at least. I will say that Phantom Blood deserves at least a 7/10 overall, slow to start but decent as a whole. Again maybe needed a bit more urgency with the pacing but it got good halfway into part 1 for me. Yes it's the weakest part but it is by no more bad in any sense of the word for me personally. |
