By the point the manga was being published, a lot of shounen manga jumped more towards some later HxH-like developments (just monologuing from both parts conceiling the info from the opponent... for the most part!), so it became a rather silly element people just accept for fun and don't take seriously, and neither should (still works well in JoJo anyway, which actually uses both without a care, and still looks cool while doing it). Nowadays, Jujutsu Kaisen resurrected the popularity of the trope with a nice twist: "if you explain out loud, the power grows stronger", which in my opinion is quite the cleverest evolution it could have had. |

| Damn Renji dropping the coldest one liner with that entrance and holy shit true Bankai Renji is fire. So turns out zabimaru was holding back since it didn't deem Renji worthy enough of it's true form, hella wonder what kinda of training Renji did though, kind of a shame they didn't show it. Will say the true Bankai is surprisingly small compared to the old one lol. Granted it guess it's compensated with the arm and probably bites a lot harder then the old one, but just thought it was surprising looking at the size comparisons. So Manako Osho invented the terms for Zanpakuto, Shikai and Bankai which is kinda interesting, wonder if he invented other terms or just the ones for those forms with the Zanpakuto. Cool that we got to see Rose's Bankai, it was meh i guess, was kinda confused on how it worked but got the gist of it. But man Mask and James was wild, took out 3 lieutenants and two captains. I thought he had an interesting gimmick of i guess his powers just scaling over time and thats how he became so strong, but man he felt like a shitpost that went on for too long lmao. |

| It's nice to see Shunsui being serious and a good leader. Rose could've defeated Mask if it weren't for him stupidly revealing the power of his bankai. Renji and Rukia are also back and it seems that Renji is finally actually useful in battle, beating someone who defeated 2 captains himself. |

| Is there a reason the vizards don't use their hollow powers? Like... didn't Kisuke explain how hollow powers would be like poison for the quincies? Or did I misunderstand something? Shinji and the other two vizard captains should have a clear advantage IMO. I get that Kubo probably wanted to showcase their bankais but like their hollow masks would be much more useful here right? |

| Abarai Renji, the trash of Bleach, gets a W for once. Also I'm just gonna say this: His new Bankai looks like shit. The old one was shit too. This dude Superstar was a acrazy antagonist. I loved watching him fight and I'm sad that we're now going back to the boring ass story of Ywach   This was a cool looking atack but these 2 clowns are the weakest Captains fo all time. How dare they call themselves Captains. Weak and Wack, the only 2 Ws they're ever gonna pick up. |
