| Finished this yesterday after been watching it for the last 2 months. Hands down and by a landslide the best battle shounen series ever since FMA:B, and the most enjoyable anime in general I've encountered from the post-2010 era. Not at the same heights as the imo still battle shounen kings Naruto and Dragon Ball, but it has been the closest one so far in giving me the same type of exciting vibes as those two, so I'm comfortable and more than happy to place this in their same top 10/10 category. To think this used for the longest time to be scored under 7.0 is simply nuts. From the very beginning I was always questioning myself what could have been so bad, so wrong or offensive in this series for it to get that unbelievably low. Anyway, it makes me happy to notice justice was rightfully done in the end, though I still think the level of appreciation this series receives is falling short to its merits, moreover when considering similar contemporary titles -imho- much inferior like Demon Slayer and JJK are getting all the love and attention. In particular, I also thought these last episodes were a near-perfect way to give closure to this 1st entry. The decision to temporarily stop the story and create expectation for the continuation with a long-awaited revelation of Asta's origins, the mystery surrounding the evil entity inside him, the establishment of an official alliance and friendship between the two of them, in addition to the introduction of a key character like the Black Bull's vice-captain and the suspense created by Yami's and Vangeance's abduction, was simply brilliant. One of the best season-finales of any anime I've ever seen. It goes without saying that I'm more than looking forward to the continuation. Having this reached the top level for me, I hope we don't have to wait years for it. |

Personally I never saw it as an issue since it fits the character perfectly. |
| This was a great final episode. It may leave the story hanging, but I thought this was a decent stopping point. It's been so interesting watching this series evolve into a top-tier battle shonen over the course of it's run. It's been such a fun ride. I guess I'll go pick up the manga while we wait for the movie. |
| I was actually really close to dropping this in the beginning due to the way Asta kept screaming but there was something compelling about the show and I am so glad I stuck with it. What a ride and even if the last 10ish episodes felt a bit rushed at times I cannot wait for this show to come back. |
| FukuJun is a devil? Licita. WTF magic she got? He got kid zoned? Lucifero? WTF! She already had Asta? Virgin Mary? OH SHIT! DAT HAND THROUGH THE STOMACH! She not having kids again. Dat death. Dat insert music... Could it be? And that was the end.... for now. After starting BC with the OVA on Nov 27, 2017. Taking a break at episode 39 on January 8, 2019 (I remember MAL being down for several months in 2018, which messed up my post history when I was watching, but I apparently stopped there). I came back on my current run with episode 40 on June 5, 2021. I had to postpone my run on episode 129 on March 24th because I didn't have the BD for the final cour and I wasn't watching the filler. Came back 2 months and change later on June 8th to finish it today. What a run. Did not expect this to take almost 5 years. Anyway, my opinion of BC was low coming into this. I had nothing positive to say about it aside from the OP/ED songs and the waifu Mimosa along with Vanessa. It took until episode 100 for my opinion to completely change. That one episode was the turning point. With that said... I await the return of BC. I'll miss my waifu Mimosa. Also, Haruka Mirai will never get old (that song is special to me) and Black Catcher is GOATed. |

| So yeah, that's it. It was a fun ride. No regrets here; I'm glad I gave it the chance to prove itself, and slowly but surely it delivered. It was a ride full of ups and downs; but in the end it was completely worth it. Started May 19th, ended just past midnight here on June 24th. If my math is correct, that is 35 days give or take, watching leisurely at my own comfortable pace. That comes down to an average of nearly 5 episodes a day. But really I watched like one or two episodes one day, and then like 20 the next lol. Anyway, what a great note to end the anime on. Asta comes to terms with the devil that was within him all this time, and fighting hard to win his friendship, all the while acknowledging those who helped him get this far. And honestly, it's also the best-looking episode out of them all imo. It's still not much more than just your basic shounen; it had potential to be more, it was a bit rough around the edges, but it still did what it had to do and then some. The animation is not something it'll be known for, but it went hard when it needed to. I will be missing the music.... and these characters; who, despite still being just a bit flat, have stolen my heart and I'll probably be attached to them forever. I hope we'll see them again soon. I am satisfied with this anime and am looking forward to more. I hope Pierrot doesn't keep Yami waiting there in the Spade Kingdom for too long. 7/10 |

| The story of Asta's mom is a bit weird. How did she even get a child when she kills that fast? Unless it's slower for humans. And how does she immdetiately notice that Liebe does not have magic, but didn't that Asta doesn't have it either? If it's only because of not having magic, and so far that was pretty consistent - he's not affected by Henry, and Zagreds all consuming stuff ignored Asta. Therefore, he should have been fine with whatever his mother actually does. Of course, she might not have been sure, but he survived until whenever she finally dropped him off, and she didn't hesistate the slightest with Liebe.. it's certainly possible hat she felt it's better to be safe then sorry with Asta, but was confident by the time she found Liebe, but it feels a bit forced because we barely know anything about what happend, only a few short scenes. Her"powers" also make me wonder if Henry is related somehow, either biogically or if the source of their powers is the same, e.g. a course. Also interesting that Asta doesn't have magic, despite his mother having it. Magic power is obviously hereditary, otherwise the whole noble system thing wouldn't work, so how come? Next thing which also feels a bit forced is that the elves showed up, especially when send by a never-mentioned before dryad, instead of simply sensing huge magic powers clashing etc. Of course, a lot might be explained as the story goes on, but for now.. They also shafted some members lately. Magna was completely absent from all that, he's not even back in the Black Bulls base. I wonder when he's gonna reappear, and if he's finally going to be stronger. Nero had a short moment when "sealing" Vanica, but that obviously failed, and has been background decoration at best lately. I think she was not even there in most scenes, not even as bird. Grey is probably the most interesting character right now, because there are lots of unknowns, and she hasn't had a chance to really shine (besides saving Gauche) yet. Officially she uses transformation magic, which is not supposed to be able to do what she did..but why not? It's not "morphing magic" or some such, and she transforme, or transmuted e.g. poison to wool and stuff like a 100 episodes earlier. Removing the sword should be easy, by changing it from solid into a fluid or as gas the effect shown could be achieved. Healing Gauche is a bit more complicated, but when you break it down to molecule level or whatever it's really not different from what she's done before. Heck, she doesn't even need to transform it per se, just move them around and stuff. Might be there's more behind, but might also be that there's simply never been a somewhat competent mage with her powers. Probably because of the isolationist policy the countries enforce, and the way most kingdoms are run (the heart kingdom is only natural magic, little experimentation. Clover Kingdom noble's run the show, and their magic deviates only a little from the stock with each generation, Diamond Kingdom probably dismissed everything without super obvious use in a war, and Spade Kingdom..maybe had other issues with constant winter, and then was overrun by devils. And the elfs are like the Heart Kingdom, only worse), there is actually not much magic research going on, and most knowledge is more accidental/passed on by word of mouth. I wonder how the rest of the world is doing. E.g. Yami's home country, or where the dwarfs are at. The dwarfs are described as an ancient race, but Charmy is only about 20, so there must be some around at least.. Anways, the last couple of episodes was slightly better again then the ones before, though outside of fights it's usually not as noticable when something doesn't make sense, because it's more forgiving in general. So i'm tentatively optimistic for further animation adaptiion of Black Clover, e.g. the movie - most of the "fillers" were quite nice, so a movie with an original story could be good, too. |

Damn Licita and Liebe moment almost made me cry T__T  At least we finally learned where Asta came from. The ED song "Beautiful" really fits this devil-befriending ritual x brothers pact. | Things I look forward in the future Black Clover: 1. Black Bulls reaching their full potential. Grey discovering her unknown power. Asta x Devil bro. And everyone in Clover Kingdom 2. Arcs or OVAs about the love teams. Yami x Charlotte, Gauche x Grey, Finnes x Finral, Loropechika x Gaja, Mars x Fana, Charmy x Rill, Kiato and what happens with his kataomoi on Noelle 3. More side/back stories on Asta and his mom, Yuno as a Prince, Nacht and other important characters, as long as the stories tug on my heartstrings, fun and make me happy *__* 4. Liebe sharing stories of Asta's mom to Asta and being brothers until the end of this series 5. Nero seeing more of all the 1st Wizard King's legacy materialize 6. More of Julius Novachrono's goofiness and more banter with Marx 7. More of Father-sama happiness seeing the two of his boys all grown up and strong 8. Maybe Owen organizing a training for all recovery mages (dunno if it will happen but I'm hoping, it would be nice as a side story) 9. More Sisgoleon training hahaha. And Vermillion brothers 10. Elves x Clover Kingdom x Heart Kingdom x Diamong Kingdom collaborations |
