Do you mean that they're both too beautiful to be a couple because two cute girls together would be fanservice? But aren't Shu and Taki attractive too? This don't make any sense. Kumiko and Reina are both very brilliant characters (like others from Hibike, but they're still the two more developed, not to mention that Kumi is the MC after all), and their interactions are awesome. A glance and Reina, with just few words, could calm Kumiko, not to mention how much could Reina change her. They can easily understand each other, they're fascinated by each other and enjoy their time together, these are all things that make them a good pair. Shuuichi can't do it at all, they don't have a good chemistry, we've never seen Kumiko captured by him, by something that he said, their conversations weren't brilliant, she was all the time being "tss", she has never mention him but I've lost the count of all the times that Kumiko has thought of Reina. After all that work on them if KyoAni'll go for the het route... It'd a pity because a great potential pair will be thrown. I'm a yuri fan but if we exchange the character role, Shuuichi instead of Reina, i would cheer on ShuMiko, but at a time like this... Nope. |

It's Kyoani messing with our imagination. It's like a painting. People can interpret it in different ways but to don't go beyond the "theme" of the painting as told in the title. NOTE: I'm currently watching GF Kari BETA at this moment. Episode 1. |

Pretty much every Love Live ship has quite a bit of subtext behind it. The creators also totally endorse the gayness, just a few weeks ago everybody complained how the english translation of that smartphone game takes out all the genuine yuri. I'm pretty sure the mangaka ships the girls as well, other pairings than in the anime though. HonokaxEli and stuff. |

I've read a lot of entusiastic comments on Taki (a few even on Shuu), and even in H!E girls says that he's really good-looking, so... Yeah, I've said "they're cute together" too, but I didn't mean it by just the appearance lol I've heard a lot "They would be so cute as a couple" and things like that in reality too, it's like...common saying, maybe? And if the chara was like Aku no Hana's, I'd ship KumiRei anyway. I don't ship girls because gorgeous + gorgeous = *Q* ... lol The ambiguty is one of the things of yuri that I like the most, I love subtext like crazy and yuri genre get along very, very well with it asd The border between friendship and a depeer connection or a special type of bond is always very thin. As I said, I've been shipping them since ep1, so it's not just the scene of ep8 nor "that" scene from ep9 (yeah, KyoAni made the camera focus just for let our imagination fly asd). The comparison between the gym and the real scene doesn't make much sense, they're too different and compare them is pointless, you can't exchange them anyhow. Shipping is a personal thing, like feel a pair yuri or not. Here's the NozomixEri song: The App, Love Live School Idol Festival, is official, I guess set in kind of a parallel universe though. Same with how the anime and manga a pretty different from each other. The english version changes stuff like "I like looking at cute girls" to "I like looking at cute things" or "I don't mind at all even if we're both girls" to "I don't think it's scandalous for a boy and girl to hang out". “You don’t want to? If you don’t then it’ll just be me [Nozomi] and Elicchi, the two of us all lovey-dovey heading home.” also didn't make the cut. The MC is also apparently a boy in the english version (cause that's how all girls schools work) so you might just wanna get that if you're in it for the waifu hunting. I mean, having waifus is majorly weird but if that's your thing, then go for it I guess. |

Every entry of the Love Live franchise is pretty much set in different parallel universe, the two mangas, the anime and the game. They all are the same characters in all of the entries but their relationships with each other differ a little bit. The songs are also official, sung by the official group (voice actors).  |

| Well, yeah, subtext is subtext. Nobody said the anime or the manga are genuinely yuri. You said they just ship them cause they look cute together but actually they ship them cause there's subtext. And obviously both the manga and anime cater to yuri fans too, the subtext has been there from the start. But actual yuri doesn't sell well, even less when the project started than it does now, so going full yuri would lose a lot of sales. There are quite a few mangaka that write yuri doujins but keep it to subtext in their official releases. | This happens in chapter 16, which is the newest translated one, and is the closest it got to actual yuri for now: I've found a comment about the raws saying that somewhere in the later chapters I'm pretty sure the anime is going to stay as subtext but honestly, I wouldn't be all that surprised if the mangaka decides to go full yuri for the manga, there's even a subtext love polygon all set up. She did Strawberry Panic before Love Live, so it's not impossible at least. |
