If you can't make people CARE about Caster then she is nothing more than a filler fodder. IF you did not notice the "shirou's story" part is also missing too. | Honestly, if they handle a lot of the major moments well (like Illya and Berserker next episode) and at least nail Shirou's character in some form then I'd probably consider this is masterpiece. If not, I'll probably just say it was still a great anime, but did not meet my original expectations and will probably just give it a 9/10 and call it a day. |
| Well, I found it rather enjoyable. Caster's background was a very boring part in the VN as well so I'm satisfied with the amount of time they used on it and it at least had a few decent scenes and we could hear some Kirei voice, and the original scenes near the end were in my opinion good. I really don't see the complaints about stereotype muslims or whatnot, couldn't see that at all. |

If they can't then just like with Shirou's depth, they won't give a shit. Caster was such a fascinating gray morality character in the VN with one of best done backstories possible. She is at least ~20% of what made UBW the best route. Without it, everything that comes will be cliche as fuck. |

| Lol, catching up with this thread is much longer than watching the episode. It was a mistake to try this. Anyway, after the previous one, this episode seems really slow. Like nothing happened except Shirou and Rin getting closer to Illya's Castle and Gil getting closer to fight with Berserker. Neither of which was shown in the VN as I remember. So, almost completely a filler episode (except the dialogue with Rin in the very beginning). But. Still very well made. Caster backstory feels fresh. Kirei's "Give it to the Lancer's master, huh?" face was full of yuetsu, and Shinji finally manages to be at least a bit funny. Ufo also tries to show more Illya (which is always good), and that comedy/gore contrast is surely good as an anti-entropy source of energy. And it seems that Miura actually listens to what Fai says. Previous episode had a long monologue, and today Rin rolls on the ground instead of Shirou, lol. |

And none of stuff that mattered was adapted. This literally felt like written and directed by five year old because who the hell puts COMEDY GAGS that close to "Srs" gore? WHO? When the only good thing in the episode was THE MOST HATED CHARACTER IN WHOLE FRANCHISE(Shinji) you know it was a trainwreck. But HEY ! AT least we got THE ONLY REAL TRUE CANON RIN MOMENT IN WHOLE SHOW SO FAR, where Rin, LE GASP! IS not perfect and fucks up majorily. ...Evil Muslims and Servant Level Shinji........................I think I will go insane from this shit.... 2/5 lel at people whining about racism. 21st century is so boring. I liked the episode in general. For a change we got to see how Caster ended up with a school teacher for a master. And who whines about comedy gags being followed by brutality? Who whines about lack of sanity in a story about a bloody war between mages? Who writes these critiques? |
