Got a question about those relationships. It may be a deciding factor whether or not I want to continue watch this or not : Do some of those relationships include forced sex or not? I wouldn't like it if some of it was forced so I'd like some kind of warning about this. |

I just have one question Is it true that while having sex with Saki, Saki thinks that Satoru can't stop loving another man...? |

OK, quite a few questions raised. I'll try to answer them one by one deave112 said: When they are 14, will Shun still be their leader or after Satoru is grown up (and after he showed some leadership skills in episode 5) he'll start to take more control on things? I want Saki to be the leader but it doesn't seem like she want to. Shun will still be the leader when they are 14 because he is the wisest after all. But it will not be always the case, stay tuned and you will see why. deave112 said: Will they (Satoru and Shun) have an actual relationship or just sex? Will that relationship be important or the anime can just skip it without losing anything important? Relationship as a romantic relationship? As I said earlier, sex is an expression of fondness and affection - I am not sure if you would call such feelings of mutual fondness as relationship, but anyway they have sex. And the anime has not skipped it because it has yet to happen. foreveroblivion said: I still can't forget about when Saki mentioned about Maria's birth. In which way did her birth cause (later I suppose) so many lives to end? Does this refere to her son? I think you have misunderstanding about what Saki said: What she said was: 「もし、秋月真理亜がこの世に生まれてこなかったとしたら、 結果的にあれほど大勢の人が命を落とすこともなかったはずだから……。」 Translation: If Maria Akitsuki had not been born to this world, there would not have been so many people losing their lives at the end... The birth is not about Maria's son but Maria herself. As for why Saki said that, you have the answer already. clicheforfun said: I just have one question Is it true that while having sex with Saki, Saki thinks that Satoru can't stop loving another man...? Not too sure about your question. You asked "is it true that..." -- does it mean you have heard that from somebody or at some place? Where did you hear that? Also "while having sex with Saki, Saki thinks that Satoru can't stop loving another man", did you want to say "while having sex with Satoru, Saki thinks that Satoru can't stop loving another man" ? InternHertz said: Got a question about those relationships. It may be a deciding factor whether or not I want to continue watch this or not : Do some of those relationships include forced sex or not? I wouldn't like it if some of it was forced so I'd like some kind of warning about this. No, sex in this world is all expression of fondness and affection (with a function of stress relief). There is no forced sex. The genetic modification in human contains a "aggression suppression" mechanism that prevents human from trying to attack other human. |

So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old? I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them? I wonder how long people would put up with this. As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series. |

And yes, I only read that part of the novel, and haven't caught up with the rest, so I'm not sure if I read it out of context or not. But since this is her first time, and they're both thinking about a man that is no longer in this world, I'm guessing thats Shun. And if I'm not reading it wrong, Saki imagines Satoru as someone else during the later part of the act? |

Hmm... you'd better tell me that you were talking about the end of Chapter 4 of the novel because otherwise I would not know which part you want to ask about... I meant while they are doing it, Saki thinks his expression suggests that he's making that face for a man he can't stop loving. Actually the novel continued with Saki saying that she also has the same feel: that she is doing it with another person, whom she deeply loved. And it ended by Saki concluding that both Satoru and herself committed sex with a person who is no longer in this world, i.e. Shun, while they also knew they are having sex with the real Satoru or Saki. Saki thinks this is kind of unusual for Satoru and her to have such thoughts, but she is sure that both Satoru and she wants it that way. Is it clearer now? |

About Shun and Satoru Let's say their relationship will just get deeper when they are 14 As for meaning, I think it is like what anime has explained, it is a way to share fondness and affection like the Bonabo monkeys and it is a marvelous way to relieve stress too. What the anime does not make clear is that the society and culture is very permissive about this, and even incorporate it as part of their education. That said, just like friendship can blossom into romance, friends who engage in sex may later become a committed couple. This is kind of like our real life, except that instead of just friendly chats in our world people in this world may also engage in sex as a sign of close friendship. |

I agreed. Right, she shouldn't feel that its something abnormal if its "right". Plus she seems to assume that for both of them. I do feel that Satoru seems to love Shun more deeply than Saki loves Shun. But Saki could totally misread his "crying" expression as that of love, instead of Satoru just simply feeling the pleasure.... |

I have a question: It has been mentioned that the different types of sex are treated differently (they can not copulate until adulthood). Can they perform anal sex? That kind of sex causes physical pain and they can not cause physical pain to other humans. Then they can not perform anal sex, or am I wrong? |

That kind of sex causes physical pain and they can not cause physical pain to other humans. Then they can not perform anal sex, or am I wrong? I don't remember anal sex being depicted in the novel. When homosexual behavior is depicted only hand job and oral job is depicted. So the short answer is: We don't know if they can perform anal sex. As for physical pain -- I think if they can perform anal sex, there is a way to relieve the pain. In the depiction of a virgin having her first heterosexual intercourse in the novel, it is clearly described that she feel physical pain. By your logic, then even heterosexual intercourse should not be performed, right? So I think the "aggression suppression" mechanism does not work like that -- it prevents human from physically attacking other human, but it does not necessarily stop any consensual behavior that may involve physical pain. |

And one more question: Again, between Satoru and Shun, who will make the first move on who. Who will want to have sex with who first? As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series. |

Like, in Satoru and Saki's case Satoru made the first move and wanted to have sex with Saki. I heard that Shun made the first move on Satoru and you see it in the novel, is that true? About Shun and Satoru It happens when they are 14. Actually Satoru made the move towards Shun, from courtship to action during sex, so what you heard is not true. So Satoru is the seme in their relationship? |

O___O We do not SEE it happen, but Saki guess that they are going to do that before she left. She also saw other boys doing that in other occasions. So we never actually see them having sex in the novel, just kissing? |

Well, they are stoking each other's private parts by the time Saki left. I would say that we are seeing them having sex in the novel. anaaga said: Question about Maria. Maybe someone asked about it and I missed it Why did Saki specifically said Maria when she said about the whole "not born" thing instead of Maria's son? Because it is a plot device. Saki's statement is actually almost at the beginning of the novel. Disclosing Maria having a son that early would just spoil too much of the novel at this early stage. |

And wait, did it bother Saki that she saw them kiss? deave112 said: So Satoru is the seme in their relationship? Satoru SEME Shun UKE LOL! Yuki Kaji usually voice the uke part. So that would be something new to see him do. But I'm not really surprised by it. The voice actor they took for grown up Shun sound even more feminine than the WOMAN that voice him as a kid... XD |

It should be soon after the time skip to when they are 14. Saki was indeed bothered because Saki was romantically in love with Shun but she also saw Satoru getting closer and closer to Shun, and then she saw them engage in kiss and sex. If Satoru and Shun are just having sex as friends, perhaps Saki would not be as bothered but she senses that Satoru also has a romantic attraction towards Shun too. |

symbv said: Konja6 said: It has been mentioned that the different types of sex are treated differently (they can not copulate until adulthood). Can they perform anal sex? That kind of sex causes physical pain and they can not cause physical pain to other humans. Then they can not perform anal sex, or am I wrong? Thanks for the explanation. Then in the novel only described manual and oral sex (with homosexual behavior). Maybe they do not perform anal sex or maybe yes, but we do not know the answer. So they can cause some physical pain on another human. Although perhaps interourse (while not violent) is the exception, because it is necessary for reproduction. |

1) "I should have said Saki did not count it. She just saw them kiss before she saw them having sex." Oh, so they kissed more than one time but we only see them meet alone and kiss once in the novel, right? Or were there other times in the novel they kissed? 2) "Kissing in public, fine (which is why Saki would have seen it), but I guess having sex is something different." I meant why they hide it from their friends. Why didn't they kissed next to them? 3) "You don't always need a confession of love to show that you are falling in love, do you?" True, I'm just asking what were the signs for that that they fall in love with each other? 4) The novel continue after Saki and Satoru's sex at the age of 14 right? There is another segment when they are 26, right? The final war against the rat-people... And Saki and Satoru are still together as a couple in that part right? Are they acting like a couple like kissing and show affection for each other? Is that how you know they are really in love? I'll imagine that after 12 years together they won't think about Shun anymore at that part? 5) Also, I really liked Satoru and Saki's parts together in episode 5, will we see more parts in the story that it's just them without the rest of the group (before Shun and the other two died, not after. Because It's obvious that after they will all die it will be just Saki and Satoru)? (these are my final questions, I don't want to know anymore stuff other than what I just asked :X) |

I think it's more along the lines of A restriction from physically harming another being you perceive as human of your own free will. So sex gets a pass because both parties ultimately view it as a pleasurable act. Haven't read the novel though, so it's just an educated guess. Thanks for the spoilers symbv. Do Maria and Mamoru end up being killed in the war? Also The show's TVTropes page mentions some secret hidden under the village. What is it? |

Shun was romantically involved with both Satoru and Saki but who he felt "more " ? As i'm confused, because he went intimate with Satoru but in in his dying moment the expressed his fondness for Saki or it wasn't clear in the novel and remains a mystery? And he knew how both felt for him right? Thanks for all the spoilers symbv ! |

(these are my final questions, I don't want to know anymore stuff other than what I just asked :X) deave112, I think you are getting a bit too obsessed with the love details.... 1. The correct way to say it is we only see them meet alone and HAVE SEX once in the novel. 2. Kissing in open they did, but having sex they did it when they were alone themselves. 3. Can't recall everything, sorry. 4. The novel is divided into 3 volumes when it was first published. Each volume has 2 chapters. The first volume is when the characters were 12. The second when they were 14. The third when they were 26. Saki and Satoru's sex happened at the end of the second volume. The novel is really not about love and sex, so details about how Saki and Satoru courted took a very subsidiary position to the scheming, fighting and adventuring (and revealing the secrets about this world) but I remember I can tell the two in love, but SHUN will always be a powerful memory for both Saki and Satoru. In fact, when they married at the end and they decided to have a baby, they decided that if it is a boy his name will be SHUN, and if it is a girl her name will be MARIA. 5. Not really, because SHUN's predicament is a major part of volume 2 and it started not long after the SATORU x SHUN and MARIA x SAKI episodes. |
