Sasha was amazing in this episode, she was so brave charging straight at the titan with no gear except an arrow in her hand.

It was an interesting question when conny arrived at his house, how indeed did the titan get there if it couldn't walk with those legs. Could it be a new titan that was made there, but then wouldn't that mean the titan could possibly someone conny knows?

I haven't read the manga so I don't know the answer.

Anyway, really looking forward to the next episode.

Sasha was fucking awesome! She stabbed that fucker with the arrow in the eye! I still can't believe she did that. One of my fav characters for sure. So happy her father ended alive and well.
Too bad the same can't be applied to Connie's home...

Btw, when Sasha encounters the Titan eating that woman I thought he was a normal dude eating the woman because he was starving (Sasha's father mentioned the people of the villages suffered famine since the fall of Wall Maria), he didn't seemed that big inside the house, lol.

Well. I love Sasha. I lovelovelovelovelovelove her. So I cried when she didn't die. I legit had tears in my eyes.

Aaaaaah, Hiroshi Kamiya. One of my favourite voice actors. He has a "flaw" (well yeah, it's not exactly a flaw but still) which is that his deep voice makes him sound like a thug, kinda?? I think it sounds okay on Ao no Exorcist's Mephisto Pheles but on Levi it's a no no, since I'd only seen the dub before, and I think Matthew Mercer is a better Levi. I'm sorry.

Also I noticed that many times the characters -and especially Levi- have heads bigger than their bodies and it's just so damn funny to me idk

Surprised that so many people thought this episode was meh :o

Personally I loved it, I like Sasha and I'm glad she got some development and quite a badass moment. That traumatised kid really looked unstable O_O Good thing she remembered to came back for her savior!

Also, WTF is wrong with that new titan with tiny hand and legs, what is it even doing there? I can't really imagine some other titan bringing it there lolz. Anyway, preview said there is gonna be some clue next episode, can't wait <3!

I'm glad Sasha got this development. Looks like Connie's next! I think it's good that this season is putting more focus on the side characters so the viewers can understand them better.
That poor little girl, though... yikes.

Are these the same voice actors, because I kinda think that Mikasa had deeper voice, Eren a bit more childish/pitched, Levi also kinda deep or more monotonous voice and Erwin having a more noble or solemn voice, so, I think the voice actors do not fit the characters.

Glad i'm not alone . Hiroshi kamiya, he's great. But seriously, voicing a character with a serious deep voice isn't his best area. I too prefer dub levi. I wish he'd stick to characters like yato, ranpo, and izaya, he can pull off those quirky, badass, funny characters way better. It probably might be that I'm not used to him in such roles like levi lol

Either way, this was a nice Sasha themed episode and they did her backstory and characterization justice and I was very proud of her....That scene with the kid was brutal though, man that was hard to watch

And now we are at the first hint behind one of the biggest mysteries of the series with this Connie scene....Can't wait to see all the anime only reactions lol

Great episode.
Nice to know more about Sasha. LOL she really wants that snack.
Ymir & Christa are an odd pairing, but they are funny.

That Titan in the house was terrifying. Those dead eyes in the girl seeing her mother get eaten alive is traumatic.

Sasha so badass grabbing the arrow & thrusting it into the Titans eye.
So lucky she escaped. Didn't want her to die.

Next week looks intense. Can't wait for more.

THE HYPE THOUGH

In just two episodes this new season is giving me exactly what I wanted from the first season- time with, and development for the individual characters. Seems like this arc is gonna be primarily about the humans/human nature rather than the Titans themselves. Especially when that poor girl said everyone abandoned her mother...basically because they knew she had bad legs and would therefore be a liability.

The whole Axe scene and eating that woman alive was even grosser than Mike's death...just because of how "quiet" and slow the whole thing was in comparison. Ew.

I'm so damn glad that the season kicked off by giving Sasha the limelight though because I like her a trillion times more than I did before....she has now been elevated above Potato Girl status to Gouging Girl status XD

Seriously though, the guts that must've taken! No way did I expect her to ditch the bow and just stab the arrow straight into that Titan's eyeball *o*
Sasha Fierce indeed

I was both relieved and surprised to find out that her dad was alive in the end!

Now on the flip side we have Conny whose family have either been chomped on or squished by that Titan, I guess. I'm thinking maybe another Titan threw it onto their house of something??

It's times like these that I'm glad to be an anime-only!

Cannot wait for next week!!!

I have to wonder what the author's original intention was for killing (and now, just "trying to" kill) Sasha. She lived as a one-trick pony before, certainly. But on the same chapter that you devoted completely to developing a backstory and personality, you decide that it's a good idea to revert all that progress and just off her at the very end? I'm glad the editor changed his mind, otherwise he might as well have just never written Sasha to begin with to save time.

I liked this episode. It was kind of unusual one, the focus was on Sasha and we didn't see much of the other characters. Which is good, because now we can meet her better and see her development. I like those episodes where you can learn more about the characters in the show. I really liked how she stabbed that titan in the eye, good job!
The question about the wall is very interesting and of course, Armin is the one that knows and gets everything! Also the ending with the titan lying on the house is curiously and another question pops up - how she even got there if she can't move?

Will I'm usually in the pro character death side, I have to agree here.

It's such a stupid trope to have minor characters suddenly get back story or development just because they will be killed immediately after. If anyone watches The Walking Dead then you'll understand how stupid and predictable this becomes.

I have to agree with this as well, the editor did a good job in changing Isayama mind, and this is why authors have editors, because sometimes having someone by your side can be a real help in your planning.

Glad I didn't drop in the first episode. This was a good one.
I think my memories of the manga are blurry enough to enjoy it.

Sasha running towards the titan and poking his eye with the arrow was great. But I didn't like how she always portrayed as an animal when it's food related, this is so cliche and childish... And I know the kid should appear as shocked, but stand still watching her mom been eaten was just creepy, they should have done a better work in her expressions.

For the technical shit: the soundtrack was shitty and annoying, and the art still a pain in the ass. Shitty CG and inconsistent art, always fucking everything...

I'm not sure what the intention was for that scene, but since the portrayal was most similar to, I guess, "titans eating people etc." scenes, that was the connection they wanted to make. It's not an idea you really see expressed at all in S1 so it does come off as kinda confusing.

I rewatched the scene, she actually doesn't see her mom at all (she's staring at the floor) until Sasha enters the scene with the axe. I'd presume that the kid looked pretty blank because she'd already accepted the hopelessness of her situation, there's clearly nothing she can do as a child.

Sasha centric episode and it was great! Behind Mikasa, she's my 2nd favorite female of the series and 4th overall.

So glad she got plenty of screen time this episode and that guitar riff right when she turned around to fire arrows was perfect.

Unfortunately. this is SnK and triumph is usually followed by heartbreak. Poor Connie's village and family. This series literally troll'd me when Sasha started to have a nice family moment with her father and the piano is playing and she says "I'm home". Then swerve! Connie's home is destroyed, family dead and a titan crushing his house.

4/5- Potato girl can be a badass too. Screw shooting your final arrow, let's just ram that thing into it's eye and use its blood as a slip n' slide to escape.

Every time I read one of your posts in any section of the site I facepalm, how can you possibly be so damn negative all the time. Having developed characters is half the reason these types of series work. If you don't care about the characters, you don't care about their situations. "I'm home" episode was great, a bit refreshing to see the supporting casts having the spotlight. I don't really care about Sasha or the others in S1, but seeing her moment animated was nice compared to the manga, the anime felt more geniune. A good development for potato girl! and her stabbing that titan's eyes with an arrow was pretty bad ass!

Thought that after lasts ep this anime can't get anymore brutal, but damn that little girl witnessing her mother getting eaten by the titan is traumatic!... and nothing is more traumatic than seeing your home and village after many years in ruins, poor Conny. though it still good to see that Sasha's father is alive he seems like a good guy. but I keep reminding myself that this is AOT so good guys are more prone to deaths.

These episodes have felt very fast. Why can't anime be 40 minutes... Loving the show so far, can't wait for the next episode. See you all at the end of the season.

Oh, and I really dislike the ending. Not about the spoilers, but the music is just terrible.
