This shit's a better sports anime this season than Yuri on Ice (and even Haikyuu) and has more character development, not to mention (pun intended) the plot.

This show can really be silly and serious at the same time. I read the manga initially and I thought this anime adaptation was not bad at all. Hoping for Season 2 :P
At least justify your opinions instead of just saying "it's my opinion". It would've been more polite.

As ridiculously entertaining as Keijo was,a 2nd season would probably do it wonders as the world of pros is bound to be more interesting than the mostly training, practice matches & camaraderie hey had as part of Setouchi, where it's mostly everyone all friendly with each other in this season. Nothing wrong with some of that of course but the world of pros should offer more tension as the fights will carry more weight.

This was a good appetizer regardless and since there's no announcement,I'll probably start reading the manga to see if there's really a main course to be savored ;3

Some animation derps here and there.

You know what? I realized we spent an episode for Nozomi at training camp to learn the meteor move, but it didn't even any attention.

Overall this was fun, and I'm actually thinking about reading the manga.
It wasn't to learn the meteor move, it was to learn "Butt Flash". Nozomi needed to learn for herself that she needs to find a new way to fight since she's gained a lot of power at the lost of speed. The whole turnip thing was Nozomi learning that she can "snap" her butt if you will, to get the necessary speed with the changes to her body.

She developed the Meteor Hip move on her own after realizing how to apply "Butt Flash".

Aoba closing in on Maya asap to get her techniques had me rolling! Aoba already was going to be OP as hell but just think about it for a sec: She learns Maya's crazy strong moves that aren't necessarily just pure power moves. She's going pro so every single match win or lose, she's going to get stronger by absorbing the techniques of her opponents.

As mentioned before, while she'll likely never have the same strength as the original when it comes to infighter and counter moves, the sheer versatility of Hip of Babylon is just too good.

Even without a season 2 this show was awesome and this year has given me another great sports show that I actually was able to watch from start to finish. I think this is mostly due to the fact that both of them are for made up sports, the other one was Aokana in the Spring. It got me invested with these characters by adding a level of zany humor that I haven't seen in a long while. Every episode upped the anti on sheer "Did they just do that?" factor that I kept watching every episode to see how they would top it. This finale proved that this show is my show of the season. It had everything I wanted and more. I was never bored watching it and nothing about it felt forced in anyway. I understand that the manga is much more different but as a full season and as a series adaption it seemed to take the best elements of their source and roll with it in spectacular fashion.

Am I the only one who though the animation of this final episode was a bit sloppy? I've had no complaints about the animation of this series before, but in this episode it just felt a little off. Otherwise the ending was quite satisfying, and Keijo has generally been a surprisingly entertaining anime to watch.

I would read the manga if I didn't find reading stuff online so tiring, but I guess I'll just have to wait and see if we get a second season of this. It'd be great if we did!

Well this is basically everything I wanted it to be :) I was super excited for Keijo at the beginning of this season, it seemed silly and over the top and hilarious, and I think that it fully lived up to its potential. I thoroughly enjoyed every episode, great anime.

That said, 5/10 - 6/10 from me :P it was hilarious in a "god damn it, of course they'd do that with boobs" way and not in a way that I actually laugh, I just smile and take screencaps. It had serious sports anime moments but they were pretty generic and uninteresting, it needed the gimmick of being a dumb fanservice show as well to pull off such a lackluster story. I've heard the manga delivers on some more interesting character development and stuff, so that could be worthwhile. To me, this is a show that's worth watching just based on the silly premise, but it doesn't actually back itself up very much beyond that.

The art and animation did take a dip in quality this episode. But at this point, trivial stuff like that doesn't matter. It ended perfectly fine and even opened up the possibility of a second season.

You know, this show was a blast! I can think back to when I first read about it on the seasonal chart and almost didn't watch it because I thought I wasn't ready for a show with this much ecchi. But boy am I glad I did watch it. Keijo ended up being the most appealing and relatable show for me this season. I know that's a bit of a strange thing to say given Keijo's over the top nature, but it truly resonated with me. This is the first anime I've seen with a full cast of female athletes. After watching a multitude of shounen that starred strong male characters with meager token females, Keijo was a breath of fresh air. It embraced its shounen cliches and had characters of my gender kick some butt with their butts. One shounen cliche I absolutely adored Keijo using was the glorification of its characters' physique. When I see the characters commenting on how good one another's butts look, I can't help but smile. And as an athlete myself, I can't help but love this show taking a sports anime formula and putting female characters in it. Sure, I have given a different sports anime a higher score than this, but that was only because of the well done drama in that one particular anime. Basically, Keijo is one of the few anime with characters I can actually self-insert myself as.

Keijo may have intrigued me on a personal level, but it also didn't fail to deliver on comedy. The sheer ridiculousness of many of the fights and attacks were hilarious. And the parodies were great as well. This show simply did a great job at not taking itself too seriously.

It really makes me sad this amazing show isn't selling well in Japan. But if the manga is released here in the United States, I'd definitely buy it! Heck, if the anime was on sale somewhere, I'd buy it too. I can only hope a miracle happens and it gets a second season.

But as someone on a Keijo thread pointed out before, the reason Keijo isn't selling well is likely because it's too "feminist" for Japan. They want their innocent cute girls to need help from male mcs. And since Keijo is literally about strong female characters with complete confidence in their sexuality, it doesn't appeal to them. The only really significant male character in the anime was Sayaka's father.

But something else that's kind of sad is that none of those dumb feminists are recognizing the fact that Keijo is literally female-empowerment. They say it's objectifying women when it's really just glorifying their assets. Their logic makes no sense.

Ugh, I ended up writing too much. I'll try and wrap this up. Keijo was my surprise of the season. I came in with no expectations and was literally blown away. Watching Keijo was a great experience. I'm really going to miss watching it every week!

I can't believe Kaya had to go! I really prefer Kaya to Maya because of her snarky, cocky personality and white hair! Show me more of the gattai Muromachi and Midori did with their panties and Miyata's panty ripped like in ep 9 in season 2. I also want to see the rule that Keijo engineers and players are segregated abolished! Its worse than the segregation with N*ggers in the 50s.

This was one of the weird mashups I have ever seen. Everything is put together for lols of the spectator. This series is great! There is a good comedy, good ecchi, good parody and a good shounen as well.

Wow

Gave this a go for the ridiculousness, but ended up staying for the interesting premise. Although that last battle was way too shounen-y. This also is a harem in disguise.

I'm not going to lie, I kind of want a second season.

Damn, will any other anime top this in terms of ecchi fun? And here I thought Valkyrie Drive was as crazy is it would get.

Best thing about this is the huge selection of girls.

Welp, so that happened. They went full Dragon Ball Super in this episode.

But dem QUALITIES. They need to fix a lot for this one.
Still watchable tho, but it does ruined the good moments in this series quite a lot.

Tbh I don't really want a S2, since things will go even absurd in later chapters in manga. Probably won't happen anyway by looking at the sales and all..
But come on, they can still increase the BD sales by adding some nipples here and there! Make it happen, Xebec!

So it was one crazy anime, strange like Japan is with its ideas not seen in Europe, but at the same time it was fun to watch.

All this attacks and mostly in last episode were ultra crazy and silly (not even the weakest bumbs with breasts could happen in real world because of the pain they would cause).

The art went weak in last episodes, but the characters were likeable.
I would want to watch second season for the story, but not so badly that I would want to read manga right now.

This would have been a generic shounen sport anime if it weren't for all the ass. Who would have guessed that the best anime of 2016 would be full of ass? Huge credit to the author for being super creative with all the techniques used in the series.

Some really bad animation in a few spots this ep. Guess it was rushed. Whole series felt kind of rushed tbh. I don't read the manga but hearing they covered 90 chapters already is pretty crazy. Still overall entertaining and funny series. Have to dock it a few points for being way too predictable though and for the censorship which I hate because it breaks my immersion AND I'm a boob loving "perv" I guess.. censored ecchi shows always confuse me. 7/10, easy solid 8 if they decensor it ever.

Great ending episode! There were numerous animation mistakes, sadly, but the closure was very enjoyable and the fast paced action was good (even if that nipple push transformation felt like deus ex machina).
But then again this was a series that took inspiration from many well-known sports-series cliches and it worked well. And even main characters were pretty likeable.

Didn't expected this at all when I started watching this. Cause this was no ecchi afterall. This was good shounen sports/faito with heroes journey included and all essential elements included.

Solid 7/10. Surprisingly good take on sports genre. This wasn't top tier show but it delivered in its own way.

Really enjoyable experience.

Well, this anime was really enjoyable so I won't mind watching a second season.
Anyway, I'm gonna rate this anime a 7 (or 8?) out of 10 score overall.

Yes, pierce the heavens with those nipple drills!

Not even in my wildest dreams...I'll admit it. I didn't think Keijo would come this far. I thought it was going to be bottom feed fanservice with a premise that would lose its flare after the first episode. It was able to take something so insane - so absurd - and showcase hilarious creativity. At some point, I stopped laughing and started zoning in on the intensity of the battles as well as the passion each player brought to the Land.

After a thorough assessment, I give Keijo an 8/10.

No lame-ass male "lead" insert to identify with I guess. With that I must say I have 10x repect for this show than Occultic. Keijo pretty most came as it was and did the job the other seemed to just pander and pad. Where Keijo said I'm going to be a fanservice action packed show about t&a swimsuit martial Occultic just wanted to act like a scifi myster for the sake of doing so al the while betraying itself with bland quirky characters, overstylized angle, and awkward tonal shifts.

In all seriousness....here are my god honest thoughts about Keijo!

It was beyond silly....but very fun, creative, and quite enjoyable.

In the end, THAT is what I want from anime....to be enjoyable and fun to watch.

As an ecchi fan, I can't help but be upset at the fact that they didn't show ANY nudity at all, which still seems weird to me considering the nature of this anime.

Regardless, I had a good time watching this and I HOPE there is a second season.

Goddamn. I'm actually genuinely sad this show is over. I loved everything about it, and it was so fucking fun and intense to watch every week.

I'm actually completely and utterly baffled as to how this (apparently from what I'm hearing) isn't selling too well in Japan. It literally has everything Japan's NEET Otaku's love: hot chicks to choose the best waifu, with lots of ecchi scenes, intense shounen action fights, yuri, and shit tons of parodies. That's literally what should be the GOLDEN formula for record breaking sales.

Yet you have KyoAni over here, baiting the shit out of people with fake yuri and the mediocrity that is Hibike Euphonium, and they're selling over 5K copies per volume. What the fuck even?

Oh well, all we can do is hope and pray to whatever gods we possibly can for this to somehow get a second season. It's happened to worse shows, so I'll hold onto some hope for at least a little while.

10/10 no lie. I had absolutely nothing to hate about it, and it was good enough to warrant me checking out the manga at some point.
