But fine, it's all subjective, and I acknowledge that. But there is always a line of logic behind it all, and I would like to know your opinion on why you/other people find this so sad.

You know, I see some similarity with Madoka ep.10 with its very compact structure and multiple flashbacks to give the audience a high shift of gear and in-depth revelations of a character whom we did not know much and got us to sympathize with her/him. Madoka still does it much better imho but I also see the parallel of the very high Yuri level in Madoka and the very high BL level in K. As far as introducing a character basically afresh (yes, Totsuka appeared since ep.1 but it has always been the last few seconds of his life) and guided us to go through episodes of his life eventually got us to sympathize and care about him, all in one episode, I think it has done quite a decent job. It even took care to give a special ED for the Tosuka character to sing at the end, with all those pics (even Fushimi was there).

Those flashbacks were not bad, but lacked something to truly moved me. I guess that if Tousaka made more 'relevant' things during those, i would probably feel for him.

You keep saying 10 min.. Well, it all depends on how well they structure Totsuka's life story in that limited time. Highlights were given and my guess is people expand from those highlights and can imagine how Totsuka is good and fun buddy to everyone and how he is always friendly and gentle to everyone pursuing quiet hobbies like photography, cooking or ballad singing. He is very probably the guy who spread peace and joy around everyone in his clan. He is clearly the most beloved member in the clan, and he has been with them for 8 years. I guess many people can find a connection to such a great guy and his pivotal position to everyone around him. And when he was abruptly taken away from them in a most violent manner, I guess it is not hard to understand why some will feel sad. At the end, I think all those 10 or so minutes provide sufficient background and framework for watchers to picture Totsuka's life in the clan and his relationship with his members from beginning till the end. It would have been even better if more time can be given but by squeezing it all in one episode it also has the benefit of compactness and focus. Personally I don't feel that sad, but I can clearly see where those who feel really sad and cry come from.

Well, it seems like the plot is FINALLY starting to get a bit interesting with the protaganist being a fake person or something. There's a tiny thread barely keeping this from being dropped.

Am I like the only person who didnt really care about Totsuka death? I mean sure it's sad, but we've only known the character for what, 10 minutes? Its hard to get attached to a character in 10 minutes. I will say seeing Yata cry made me a bit sad, but otherwise I don't understand why everyones making such a big deal out of it. Have you all read the manga and got attached to his character in it or something?

Edit: I just read over some more of the earlier posts, talking about how this made them cry a ton, ect. ect., and my question is how?! I mean I cry over things that deserve it, like the Clannad series, Ano Hana, Ano Natsu de Matteru, Angel Beats, and 5 centimeters per second, and I've cried in some where it's not really trying as hard, such as Code Geass and Gurren Lagann, but this? How does this make you sob? I guess this show is too hit or miss, and it missed me.

If you had noticed before, her hair is usually tied up in a bun. She had her hair down when she went to the bar so that explains the hair length. As for the hair and eye color, they looked different because of the use of red tint for that particular scene.

On a side note, she's the only female character I like so far in this show xD
