Uh this show's background and setting sure is darn interesting,
but what happens in the foreground got so shitty that I must say, I'm not amused at all.
Still not bad enough to drop it it just yet so let's see if they can actually make this interesting.

No think of it as the death from the battlefield still being alive to see what the alive are doing. As a joke it could become more as a horror....remains to be seen maybe the ghost has something to do with those girls.

Uhh. . . Not so sure if I'm gonna keep watching this considering that I found both episodes pretty boring and mildly stupid. I nearly fell asleep.

And why is the city modeled after a Spanish city if it's name is sixteen in French?

fff why does everyone think because the town is based on a place in Spain that they're actually in Spain? They're not, they're in a fictional country, that's why there's such a blur of cultures. That's something I REALLY like about this as well.

I liked this episode a lot. <3 Noel is so adorable. Kureha's nowhere near as annoying as I thought she would be! She's definitely a tsundere but she's a likeable one anyway~

I think the only one of the characters who's a lot like a K-ON! character other than in design is Felicia (? that's how you usually spell the name irl so idc how the subbers romanize it that's how i'm spelling it :|) who is a LOT like Mugi...and even then she's not a total expy of her.

Kanata's only a little tiny but like Yui, but she's far less stupid (just naive and slightly clumsy~) and has much more drive to perform music which Yui never actually gave a crap about XD
Rio's nothing like Mio other than in design and name. She's neither a tsukkomi, nor is she so moe she makes Mikuru Asahina look GAR, which is basically as Mio is. (...Yeah, i'm not the biggest Mio fan...)
Kureha is only a tiny bit like Azu-nyan, and she's waaay more of a tsundere in any case. XD
AND THERE'S NO RITSU EQUIVALENT. Noel's far more like Yuki, as someone's pointed out.

And as everyone pointed out in the first episode the show gives off a completely different vibe than K-ON.

So please, PLEASE can people stop acting as if it's so ridiculously similar to K-ON. Please?

so...yeah. XD;; God I need sleep. =_=

mostly my thoughts, although it's a bit early to decide on Rio, until there's actually a Rio-centric episode. God forbid they take the Mio route in developing her character. I see a lot of potential in Rio's character, and I hope to god that sora no woto doesn't fuck things up.

I guessed the story including the ending already in the first episode and I still don't see anything special in this show, except for the nice backgrounds and the awesome owl, but nothing else. Noel is funny. I really thought that there was a high 'let's turn this old building into a wonderful place about music' feeling' just like with K-on. Do not want. Well, I should quit moping around. Next episode two episodes will decide for me if I'll continue or not.

Pretty bad, not even the ghost investigation could drag this back from the depths of blandness it currently resides within, but I digress.

Really, my main problem with this series is that it is something I've seen a thousand times before... just in a slightly different setting.

Kureha comes across as a brat because now she has someone who she can boss around since she's no longer the low man. She hasn't really done anything that makes her come across as tsundere. Noel, well my first thought of seeing her at first did remind me of Kannagi from the anime. Same color hair. But beyond that her personality hasn't shown yet for me to get a fix on her.

I think the only one of the characters who's a lot like a K-ON! character other than in design is Felicia (? that's how you usually spell the name irl so idc how the subbers romanize it that's how i'm spelling it :|) who is a LOT like Mugi...and even then she's not a total expy of her.
Felicia remind me of Alicia from Aria. She has the same tone and voice mannerisms. I could also think that the same VA is did both. I could be wrong.

Kanata's only a little tiny but like Yui, but she's far less stupid (just naive and slightly clumsy~) and has much more drive to perform music which Yui never actually gave a crap about XD
What get's me about Kanata is she has perfect pitch but can't play or read music. I know many who do have perfect pitch can't read music.

Rio's nothing like Mio other than in design and name. She's neither a tsukkomi, nor is she so moe she makes Mikuru Asahina look GAR, which is basically as Mio is. (...Yeah, i'm not the biggest Mio fan...)

Agreed, except for a few small visual similarities this isn't "K-ON! goes to war". And it isn't a horror anime either. The supernatural might play a part because of the 5 maidens and the ghost but I don't think we'll see any blood or gore. It just gives the city and fortress some mystery behind it. I like it just because it's not an "in your face and you must keep be entertained" anime. It's a decent anime that deserve a second look. It could be good or bad. I've learned that many fans here want gar-type characters and exploding mechas to be interesting. I feel for those kind. They miss the gold nuggets that could come along. Eh, there loss.

Funny, cute and entertaining. I thought it was a very good episode - the ghost setting and story about the school was interesting. I wonder what happened? I liked how you could see almost invisible hands when the lightning struck. It was nice to be introduced to all the characters. There was a lot of Kureha, she's such a tsundere, but really cute.

Music was good and production value is great.

The opening is really nice and artistic, love it! And the ending is awesome too, catchy song. Looking forward to next episode.

To use a white faced African owl was pretty cool. There's a Japanese clip on YouTube showing it doing that. Defense mechanisms. Puffing out to scare, and shriveling up like a stick for tree.

Hmmm....normally I'm not drawn to titles that have characters as soldiers, or focus a lot on music, but I tried this out, and it's definately worth following. Haven't seen #3 yet, but #2 alone raises all sorts of questions.

I'm trying to figure out the setting. It certainly looks/sounds like WWII France, but at first, I wanted to guess this is an alternate reality. What with things like the "Helvetica Army", a tank with legs, a printed language that looks close to a cross between german/french, but appears to be made up, and a map that doesn't look right....I was originally assuming that this isn't supposed to be our world.

There are a few other bits and pieces that have kept me guessing. For one, it seems clear that none of the cast is supposed to be Japanese -- what they uncovered when searching for the "ghost" seems to be a Japanese school, but they're unable to read written Japanese, and don't appear to completely understand what they've stumbled across. Also, at breakfast, Rio doesn't appear to know what miso soup is....but that just brings up more questions. The main character (haven't memorized all the names, yet) seems to understand Japanese cooking and customs as "traditions" of her home village...but, she doesn't appear to realize where they originated.

At first, I was going to say alternate reality...but maybe this story is set in the future? There wasn't enough of the map to figure out exactly where they are, and the things they appear to be misunderstanding are aspects of modern Japanese society. If it were in the future after some sort of apocalyptic event, it would certainly explain a lot. It would also explain what a modern Japanese school is doing ruined in a place that doesn't appear to be Japan, heh. Maybe where they are was Japan, and they just don't know it.

Anyway, it's already making me think, which means it's a good story in my book. Would be nice if folks didn't write reviews when less than a quarter of the story has been released, though ^^;;

Did anyone else notice that while the two girls were exploring the fortress, ghostly images appeared in every flash of lightning? There was a creepy woman face behind them the first time, then in the next flash you see a hand and a face pressed up against the window in the back, and finally there's a ghostly hand on the piano.

That alone was pretty awesome, hope they develop the ghost story part of this show as currently it's what's drawing me in. xD

Well, it was a pretty boring episode; not as much development as they could’ve included.

I don’t like Kureha in the least, she’s too tsundere and bratty. Gotta love the owl, though. I hope the ghost has some kind of importance in the upcoming episodes and wasn’t just a pointless filler.
I think, then procrastinate.

Wow, this is awful. The characters are so broad and simple; butch, kiddy, softy, bitchy, and sleepy. The vocal performances really beat this fact into the ground too.

With such a caricatured main cast, I'd think I was watching a comedy. But it isn't funny.

So here's how I think everything turned out the way it is: some people in the past started World War III with high tech weapons and threw nukes around, thus destroying most of humanity. Humans being persistent rebuild but take a whole step back technology-wise. Since they aren't a lot left, they gather around and there's like this cultural melting-pot that gets started, so that's why the girls live in a Spanish city, in francophone Switzerland and have Japanese names. And since Japan is quite far away, the Japanese were probably the ones that started the war by invading Europe with a secretly developed cyborg-ninja army with funds stolen from hard workin Koreans in the pachinko business. Oh my, this show just spoiled Japan's plan of invasion!

The tank is a mecha weapon of the last war, some people will probably throw a flying Gundam at those poor girls too.

Ahahahahahahahahah! This theory is priceless :D
