| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- First, I just have to say that the "2nd Episode" of the OVA is actually the "uncensored" episode 6, which is only found on the DVD. (By the way, I think it's supposed to be the first one, but BlueYoshi already made a discussion topic for the DS OVA, and called it the first one, so we'll go with the 2nd). Anyway, if you remember, the original episode 6 was a pretty lame episode :x It was actually a recap episode (who needs a recap after 5 episodes?!) in cover of a normal one. So apparently, Gainax had another version of the episode, which is "uncensored" - no recap scenes, more story, and more girls in hot tabs :D Because no one subbed the episode yet, I had to see it raw, which sucked for me because I don't know Japanese... But because of my 1337 534rching 5ki115, I found a site that said what happens in the episode, so I could understand :P Anyway I think this "OVA" was awesome XD A lot more action and jokes... Even if I didn't understand all of them :D Your opinion? :D (sorry for the tl;dr... had to do it :P) Edit: For those of you who can't find the episode to download, OmegaJudgement uploaded the video to Veoh under the tags "Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann OVA 2". | I don't understand why it couldn't air. There wasn't anything *that* controversial. Maybe it was the time slot. Anyway, far superior to the censored episode. |

| ...Why is this listed as an OVA? This is just the DVD version of episode 6, which was severely edited for television broadcast. OVA means ORIGINAL Video Animation. A work made explicitly for the purpose of distribution via video. That's not what the uncensored episode 6 is. It's a work that was ORIGINALLY produced for a television broadcast but had to be reworked to conform to standards. Hell, if the uncensored episode 6 is an "OVA" then so are the overwhelming majority of the other episodes in the series, since many many of them were completely reworked and reanimated for the DVD release (and if you don't believe that, just go google up some TV-DVD comparison screens). |

| That was awesome ^^ much better that the TV version, mainly 'cause it didn't have recaps from 5 previous eps. and thanks to that there was time for a must-be-peeping-action-at-onsen x3 Gimmy's way of thinking is kind of disturbing xD why is he still scared of Leeron with an attack like that? or maybe he's scared because Leeron's reaction is~ surprising~ xD and Kamina's 'stick it in my ass!' was also epic, yesss xD |
