Entire opening scene of Oscar climbing the tower and meeting Tinasha for the first time matched exactly with how I pictured it in my head when I read Volume1 5 years ago.  「なくていいです」 Tinasha a cute. |

| As far as I can tell, novelist Kuji Furumiya's work has been a Syosetu mainstay for more than a decade, until the anime broke its streak today for an adaptation. The Rapunzel-esque story of Prince Oscar Farsas ascending a tower alongside his aide Lazar, reaching the Witch of the Azure Moon who stands at the top whilst challenges await those who trespass the tower, only one will ascend to the highest depths, leaving Lazar in a situation where he's forced to drop out of the race. Oscar eventually reaching the top to see the witch Tinasha, for her to see King Regius's great-grandson do the same as him, while her aide assistant Litola took care of Lazar to rest him on the ground, death is not an option for the witch who doesn't want blood on her tower. Him wanting to see Tinasha to rid him of a curse from the Witch of Silence that breaks away his future lineage, she sees it as a blessing instead, and for the crown prince to find a woman to bear his future child with that kind of protection, it's not a simple call. Oscar's call for Tinasha to be his wife for a year in Farsas as champion, that will stand the test of what makes or breaks their relationship. The OST is rather mellow, not surprised for a show like this with colloquial themes. Still, this sets an interesting story to come. |

| Crunchyroll also leaked the subbed first episode sadly > I greatly await the day you become King. Oh Lazar. A bunch of info dump in this about curse mark, blessings, etc. The main protagonist Oscar also carries a sword called "Akashia" that with full magic resistance. Looks like their adventure begins with him and Tinasha. Pretty much an introductory episode but quite a lot of scenes between the two main leads. |

| Ye the mc does look like Ye Qiu a lot, pretty much identical to his avatar. Never heard of the source material before and nor was that interested as engi was animating this but thought of giving it a chance as I saw the leaked episode and this does seem somewhat better than their previous bland adaptations. Not much to say about the episode except that Tinasha's cute. MC is kind of savage, if nothing else should be fun to watch their interactions atleast. Btw "if she's a child you can raise her to be your ideal woman" had me laughing. OP/ED were both okay. |

How unpredictable. Also he's negotiating it like a business proposal. So two stabs a day and we call it a deal? This is practically forced marriage with potential elements of rape. But it will be okay because she'll accept him, you'll see. Albeit forced by that sword of his. But love is blind if someone threatens to poke your eyes out. |
| Decent first episode, too bad it was leaked early (now we have to wait two weeks for the next one). So far, seems like the magic system could lead to some interesting events later in the story, if handled correctly. I also like Tinasha's character. When you hear tales of her tower you may think she's evil, but once you get to know her, you realise she's caring about the unfortunate and is really only punishing the arrogant (and of course she's cute too). On the other hand, Oscar Lyeth Increatos Loz Farsas (that's how I'll be calling him in every one of my comments on this anime) is not the main character you'd expect to see in a series with the " Romance" tag. "Did you use magic to alter your appearance"?! Who starts a conversation like that?! And he then continues with "I heard you've lived hundreds of years, but you don't have any wrinkles"! Needless to say, he could have found some better topics than "Do you live here alone" and "What happens to the challengers who never make it back" (Let me remind you that he is planing to marry the girl he is talking to). Anyway, I'll be keeping an eye on this one, it could turn out to be a nice comfy show. |

| Based on the first episode, the series looks quite promising. Tinasha looked super pretty -I like female characters whose underneath hair is in a different color than the top one. I'm pretty interested to see how this series will develop. |

@LostSpectre what comedic intentions? He had a wish he could use and asked her to be his wife as the wish. What continues is a negotiation about that point and Fmc tries to renege on the deal and mc doesn't let her do that, and that's a big yikes? What?

| It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it, is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service. |

Mc is cocky with no flavor in his character, supporting character (lazar) is the typical coward. Witch is a bipolar tsundare type obviously. This shit lacks story that will hook you to keep watching. The story and direction it was going was predictable just like all fantasy anime. If ep 2 and 3 don't have any real character to the story I'm dropping.
| @knightslasher646 Yeah, I can laugh off the fact (which I assume is the intent) he's cocky as hell throughout while he tries to convince the witch to accept such an unreasonable proposition (even if it just felt awkward when they almost fought) but I'm not convinced there's much potential here when it comes to romance. I'm a little bit concerned about the people who think this is "chemistry" or that the MC is "charming" but I digress. |

| @karrotStick I'm not talking about their society in any aspect. I'm talking about the intent of the scene itself. However, I changed my mind, I don't think there's any comedic intention from the author, because this is contradicted when things almost escalate into a fight. So, I would rephrase that comment as "If you don't think there's anything wrong with this situation (from a modern perspective) then you have issues." Lastly, this has nothing to do with "fiction can't show bad things" because I couldn't give a single fuck about that. |

| @Limi It's way more rape-y than necessary, there's no tact for real world circumstances of gendered oppression/violence. I've been told the witch would kill him in a real fight, she backs down because she never intended to fight, unless absolutely necessary. So, after he calls her bluff, she backs down pretty easily, but given his behavior up until now, and the fact she's having to yield and sit back down to "negotiate" with the same man who arrogantly is insistent on making her the royal baby maker, it's all pretty damn sketchy. What's surprising is that he changes tactics, as if suddenly realizing it would be much simpler to create an opportunity to romance her rather than continue to try and force her into domestic servitude, not that he has showed any qualms about the latter. |

No. like seriously I'm curious as to which issues you might think I might have for interpreting a conversation with a genie in a bottle kind of situation where the genie tries to renege on the wish when spoken cause it didn't want to fulfill it. That too by threatening to make you a drooling idiot, any person's gonna say no to that.
Either way, they decide that the wish was invalid after a discussion and then another wish is formulated which is agreed upon. (that's what you called 'change of tactics', it was just a normal negotiation between a Genie in a Lamp and it's user on what wish is to fulfilled.)

| The LN helped shed some light on this. There's a much longer back and forth where he frustrates the witch to her breaking point, and then "the mood of the room changed in an instant" as she tries to banish him from the tower, to which he jumps out of his chair and immediately draws his weapon on her, which really doesn't feel the same sentiment got across in the anime. One thing is clear in both, however, he's supposed to come across as a bastard. So, I guess we'll see how things develop from here, not that we'll have a new episode for a while unless it's another leak. |
