132 completed Anime... That's nit very much, you've dropped almost one 5th of what you've watched. Just because you've watched a bit of older stuff doesn't validate your statement more. I can agree with some micro-points that you made but the vast majority is just random spitting to attract attention.

I don't get it. The animation is superb. It's incredibly well done but I find myself really bored with the overall plot and character development/story.

I don't care about Joe. I don't care about the world he lives in. Theres nothing here worth caring about.

Sure he can slice dudes in half or turn into a demon fog..but why is this exciting? I've seen other anime protagonists do way more impressive feats.

I don't think its bad but I just don't get the appeal over an anime with little to no depth or driving force behind it or reason to watch.

It's literally all flash and no substance.

You hv only watched 132 anime that’s not even that much considering how much I have consumed since my teenage years to now when Iam in my early 20s I don’t mean to brag about my tastes and stuff but I think that u should at least watch more anime with variety of genres to understand what makes this show appealing.

In other words this is the show for sakugatards. Turn off your brain and watch fast movements. Nothing more. From the 1st episode the plot was obvious, too many death flags.

Dropped this after 2 1/2 episodes. Good animation and gratuitous violence don't make up for terrible writing and a dumb plot. This is nothing more than Adult Swim trying appeal to tourists and 12 year olds.

this guy i complaining about character development. The MC is not a middle schooler, his just like you in his 30s or maby 40s but unlike you his matured, my man just lost his family he doesn't care about anything.
And know this it's not only focused on 25 or teens in that matter. It should entertain us for like every 3 minutes and that's not because we are young. It's because their is too much that's available to watch. Unlike your old time there no stretching 1ep into 3. If any thing that's boring. I wouldn’t say it’s boring but I do agree with some of your points. The story and the characters aren’t very appealing or interesting so far which in my opinion for a show like this, those two are the most important for me. I wasn’t expecting much from this so I can’t say I’m really disappointed or surprised but the action scenes definitely deliver. They’re awesome.

for sure, idk where OP saw people talk about it being critically acclaimed or “next best anime” All I knew about ninja kamui was that the action scenes will be awesome. And they defenitely are,I really love the action in this anime and it is infinitely better than certain battle shounens I wont name, where during the battle they make jokes , start talking, stuff like this

Sometimes you just want a"turn of your brain and watch anime characters murder each other and Bloods and guts fly everywhere" show. In an era where people think JJK and Demon Slayer are masterpieces in storytelling, it's nice to have a show that doesn't try to do any of that. Just turn of your brain and enjoy the ride. Not every show has to be peak storytelling.

I don’t get why people are inspired to write diatribes about anime shows they don’t like…it’s not that deep, just drop it. I’ve watched things I don’t like, I either finish them and rate them accordingly or I just drop them and move on. Every time a show gets popular, you have people that posts these kinds of threads. Just let people enjoy what they enjoy, who cares?

@Uruichi its not like I update my list frequently. I don't update it with every episode im on because I often forget what episode im on tbh and it feels pointless.

Thats why its at episode 1 or 0 usually.

I only drop what I dislike.

Everything else I watch but rarely finish due to getting bored or ADHD kicking in.

Like right now im on season 2 of MIA but finished the 1st season and watched the movie

But its not on my list. Because I havent put it on there yet.

And I loved Superjail and Afro Samurai

But Superjail was a comedy and Afro actually had a really interesting plot and world building.

I tried watching 1 episode and it just felt like generic Shonen

Maybe if I was younger i would've appreciated it but it just feels bland.

But demon slayer? I loved the anime and manga. Absolutely great world building and character development.
