I watched season 1 and I liked it quite a lot but I haven't seen anything good about this season or the ones that follow. Should I watch them anyway or should I just end with season 1?

some people like it, some people don’t. i’d suggest that you don’t watch it, but it’s completely up to you. if you don’t end up liking it then just stop watching it, it’s not worth finishing imo

I think you should stick until the end of S2. After S2 everything is waste of time. Some big fights are coming.

Root A is kinda bad but at least it has some badass kaneki moment and a stopping point so I suggest watching it and stop because the rest are awful. Or like people always say, just read the manga

If you liked season 1 and want to see the rest of the story I’d recommend the manga, the plot makes sense and is a lot more enjoyable personally although for casual watching the anime is still good

Watch the 2nd but dont watch the 3rd its not worth it and when i tried watching it i felt like i missed like a whole season in between 2nd and 3rd so do the 1st and 2nd then if u want to see non explained jump cuts then watch the 3rd one too. The second is fun and enjoyable so i recommend you watch it. And the 3rd season is so boring that i wanted to kill myself.

No. Dont watch it. Read the manga or find another anime to watch. 1st season was good but this is pure cancer.

No just no!

I watched all of tokyo ghoul as it was airing and progressively each season got more confusing and messy. I still loved the vibe and atmosphere that was depicted in the anime but then I started reading the manga and it’s just so much easier to understand what’s happening.

I think… read the manga first and come back to the anime after to compare if you like.
Also Root A isn’t canon at all. When I was an anime only, I heard a lot of manga readers say that Root A is semi canon… then I read the manga and realised it’s completely different. Honestly I wouldn’t say it’s partly canon at all.

But like I said, come back to it to compare later if you like! The soundtrack is beautiful and the voice acting is top class so that’s something you should watch for. But for plot, not so much.

yes and no. You see. Mr Ishida (the creator of Tokyo Ghoul) told the studio to change the story so aogiri Kaneki although fun and interesting isn’t canon. Many of the events that happen in the manga still happen but for different reasons and with different results. Plus the studio was limited to only make 12 episodes per season (fucking dumb) so the entire volume 14 wasn’t adapted so the ending is a cliffhanger. And because of that moving to re you’ll be confused af. Finish the anime and then read the manga

Root A is entertaining enough and there are a lot of awesome moments you won't want to miss if you enjoyed season 1. That being said...season 3 is pretty putrid and you could probably skip that.

Don't bother watching it... Almost the whole season is anime canon and really bad n senseless...
If you liked the first season, I'd suggest you to start reading the manga from episode 54...

Season 1 and 2 were pretty nice. Season 2 finished off at a decent enough point that you could deal with not watching the next seasons. I barely managaed the finish the next seasons after this, they were comparable to stuff like the Kaguya arc of Naruto: Shippuden and Promised Neverland season 2 in how boring they were. I heard the Tokyo Ghoul manga is good though and plan to read that eventually

I actually liked season 2 a lot (anime only) so I recommend giving it a try but imo the third and fourth season aren’t worth it at all. The first and second season remain somewhat connected but they went in a totally different direction in the third and I wasn’t a personal fan.

I thought it was good. Granted, I haven’t read the manga so I can’t compare it to anything. I’d say watch it. Contrary to popular belief, I didn’t find s3 to be half bad but like I said, I haven’t read the manga. Season3 part2 or season4 or whatever was something I really wanted to like but it was extremely hard to follow. Lots of plot holes, now that would be a waste of your time.

Tokyo Ghoul isn't any good after season 2. I never got the digits for each one down so not sure which one that is.
Well, season 3 is okay, but its not as good as the first 2.

The question is that how much did you like the season 1 cuz if liked it quite a lot then go ahead and watch rest but if you think that it was just fine or simply good then you will be disappointed if you continue. To me it was poor direction and less focus on character build ups ( leading to shallow characters and there shallow back stories) that ruined the show for me. People say that they didn't follow manga properly skipped a lot though I haven't read the manga myself but hope what I read in the reviews were right.

Please read the manga. I watched half of root A before and due to how poorly adapted it was it spoiled like every big reveal and doesn’t follow the plot at all. However I do think once you’ve read the manga you can watch this season and still find it fairly enjoyable

Ok I was very mixed on this season. I genuinely think root A is a bad season of anime and a major drop off from season 1. First of all the pacing of the story is way worse, certain characters are changed for the worse(I won’t give any spoilers), the major changes are for the worse, some of the new characters introduced sucked, the intro was worse and were boring and the major elephant in the room it completely disregards the manga for its own original story making it not technically cannon. That being said there are some positives the music for one is really good not just the popular song like Glassy Sky but also the general background music setting the tone well and a remix of a certain song I won’t spoil because it’s good, the animation is a treat to watch with both dark tones and the bright colours contrasting the scenes are done well, some characters like Juzzou are presented and done very well in season 2, the fights in genres are a treat to watch with not alone fast movements but a lot of tention and building on some characters through the fights and the ending scene which I will not spoil but it is beautifully animated with emotionally driven music to back it up and it will make you cry so be prepared.

Overall, I would still give root A a shot. It is by far the weakest season overall when it comes to Tokyo Ghoul but the things it does well it does really well, you might get more enjoyment than I did. Some might tell you to not bother with Re and Re part 2 but both seasons I actually prefer over root A and both have way more to like in terms of characters, story etc. the conclusion of the anime is also worth watching. In the end it’s up to you if you want to watch it but I do recommend root A despite it being filler along with Re and Re part 2 just finish the anime is what I say but that’s just me. Lower your expectations for the future seasons and maybe you’ll have fun.

first season is great, second is flawed, but still a good watch, third one is significantly flawed but still alright guess and the fourth one... My god the fourth one, it is an abomination and you won't understand a single thing that's happening

This is only worth watching if you have the time and want to know what happens after kaneki gets tortured. But yeah its overall trash.
