The fight between Turn A and Turn X was pretty cool. I've read that Turn A is one of the more powerful Gundams but I don't think so. Other than the Moonlight Buttefly it didn't seem very powerful at all.

This was a good ending and I liked it, but it didn't really feel like a happy ending and there were a few things I didn't understand. Why did Loran decide to live together with Dianna in the end? It didn't look like they loved each other. And I felt sorry for Sochie, because she was pretty much the only one with a "bad" end. I think she and Loran should've got together since they obviously had feelings for each other!

I enjoyed watching Turn A Gundam, but it wasn't great. The first time I tried to watch it, I dropped it after 15 episodes, because it was so different and weird and the mecha designs were ugly as fuck. But I decided to give it another chance and enjoyed it a lot more this time around. I thought the part on earth was a bit slow and boring, but it got much better and more interesting when they went to space in my opinion.

Overall, it was a good anime!

It was a good anime but it was just too long. Many episodes turned out to have no connection to the main story and they seemed to be like fillers.

I really lliked the ending but I didin't understood something: Sochie ended up to live by herself(meaning just with her mother)?

yeah
i also don't understand why loran decide to stay with diana
the only reason i can think of is well cause he really admire her
but why does diana has a ring on her left hand?
i also don't think they're in that kind of relationship hmm
maybe the movie explains it....

I was quite disappointed that Loran went back to being a mere servant. He did so much in the war... and then poor Sochie... T_T

for me, i am very satisfied with this more than any gundam series that i have watched before (and i've watched quite a lot).. i like this ending not only because it is a happy one but it deserved to have one because of how they presented to me the characters from the slow slice of life style of the first episodes.. i appreciated that even if it did not contribute much to the plot because i was able to relate with each character and perhaps appreciate earth, its people and the many cultures.. and the action and plot that came afterward are also good.. overall, i'm going to not be a critic on this one and be happy to give a 10.. for me, Turn A Gundam is a masterpiece that is meant to be one yet it's looked down because it is different not only in its designs but also on how it is presented and its atmosphere.. well then, onto the next gundam series.. looks like i'll be finishing the franchise in a short time..

yeah that was weird so I somehow felt bad for both of them in the ending. T_T

So did I miss something...whatever happened to Sochie's fiance, did he die long ago or what?

This was a fantastic show overall. The soundtrack is among the very best in all of anime, the artwork is unique and stylish, and the large cast of characters contains a lot of originality. Storytelling could use a bit of work, but that's about the only thing holding this series back I felt.

I'm willing to look past the many negatives of this series because there was just so many more positives. But what I hated most was the main storyline. The story was very weak overall and is what held this series back the most.

You did miss something, because Gavane died in the nuclear blast on Earth. That's why Sochie cries and then puts on her wedding dress and yells at the sky.

The ending was going so well until Loran left Sochie to go live in a log cabin with Dianna. I mean, seriously. Terrible.

Oh, that would explain things. Now this is probably going to sound hilarious but, I actually remember that scene very clearly where Sochie was crying and then put her wedding dress on, but I was thinking that those were tears of happiness since she was about to get married lol! Guess I didn't realize the scope of the nuclear blast... Sochie deserved better, she was a truly amazing character.

Well this Gundam series turned out alot better than expected. It took me a while to finally watch it because of how strange the Gundam looked. But im glad i finally gave it a chance. Had a pretty good story and some great characters. It also had some decent mecha battles. However i am greatly disappointed Lauran didn't stay with Sochie. it really didnt make any sense why he went to live alone together with the queen. but besides that, it was a great anime.

I just finished watching it. I feel bad for Sochie. Her father died in an attack by Dianna Counter. Her fiance died in nuclear attack. Her sister left her for moon. The one whom she loved is living with Dianna.

I really, really enjoyed pretty much the whole series - (apart from the films of Zeta and MSG) I've watched all UC and After War before this and I think Turn A stands up really well against the best of them - sometimes the changing loyalties of factions etc. started to get a bit confusing, but never to the point it actually annoyed me. I actually think the mecha designs were great and the art was very well done, I like how if mecha were shiny in it they had the same style of drawing this as was used for shiny objects in Zeta Gundam (if that makes any sense o_O ) . What I though was cool was how the mecha fights seemed to move very quickly and in fact in general the mecha did, the scenes where Turn A did say a sideckick or knee to another mecha were choreographed very well I thought.

Anyway - overall I LOVED Turn A Gundam, and now I'm sorta sad cos it represents the end of the Gundams I want to watch (all UC + After War + Turn A) - well I still have to watch the Zeta and original MSG movies so I'll come back to them in a while...

And yes I agree that it was depressing to see Loran becoming a servant again - WTF?

Well, yes i feel bad for Sochie too. But i don't think it's a bad ending. Also Dianna was lonely too, she wanted to live peacefully for the rest of her life, and that's what loran granted her: The happines. They did also marry, but i don't understand why they don't sleep in the same bed or why don't they call each other by names. Apart from that it's an underrated series imho, this deserves a lot of more.

What a great experience this series was. After going through the confusing first couple of episodes, the story and the characters caught me and I got one of the best experiences I've had from any Gundam. Great ending too. Tomino managed to convey his 'war is hell' message so prevalent in other Gundam but without killing half the cast. And yeah, poor Sochie, but I don't think Dianna was going to live very long. If I remember correctly, It was mentioned at one point that those who were in hibernation for too long had all kinds of issues and Diana Soriel was probably one of the ones longest in hibernation. Loran was just taking care of his queen. The ring she was wearing was in memory of the Will Game guy she fell in love with once.

yep I agree, while I'm pretty much Universal Century till death, I think Turn A was great and doesn't get remembered as much as it should - I for one actually even like the mecha design in it...

I never really got the ending at the end.....the only thing I understood is that the two sides finally stopped the war and all that. Poor Sochie.
The MS designs were a mixed bag, I'm not a big fan of the WaDom but I loved the Turn X design.

The only Gundam series that I watched prior to this were Wing (flawed, but entertaining) and SEED (dropped it), but Turn A was on a completely different level compared to those two. No wonder since it was made by the creator of the series.

The series was a roller-coaster for me, and there were days when I watched 7-8 episodes just to know what will happen next. The plot was masterfully executed with the right amount of mystery, action, drama and humor.

As for the romance, I only cared for Harry/Kihel (one of the best written romances that I encountered in a while), and was glad they got to be together in the end with Kihel being the only women Harry had to protect. As for Sochie, Loran didn't care for her romantically throughout the series, so I was expecting as the ending neared that they weren't meant to be. As for Loran and Diana, Diana also didn't show any romantic interest in Loran throughout the series, and I kind of got the feeling that Will Game was and will always be the love of her life. And yeah, I kind of remember Diana receiving a ring from Will Game; I need to rewatch that arc just to make sure. Also, Loran kept calling her Diana-sama in the end and acted subserviently around her, which indicated that their relationship was platonic and he was only with her because she wasn't going to live for long (the cane that she was using at the end could be hinting at that).

Overall: 9/10

Loran was a devoted knight to his moon queen, even after she didn't need him anymore. Too bad for Sochie. Anyway, glorious fight (I kind of like the fake sounding sound effects used here) and a very beautiful epilogue. This was a show that I consider more interesting than enjoyable, but shows like that aren't bad to watch once in a while. Not that I didn't enjoy it, but it needs a certain dedication to watch. I consider it a masterpiece myself.

Okay so let's review:

Corin had a HELL YEAH moment, awesome.

Guin that bastard survived...Michael really should have shot him.

Dianna and Kihel switched places again and it looks like for good. Well at least Harry and Kihel will be happy together.

I know alot of people felt bad for Sochie...but I'm not one of them. Sochie treated Loran like crap for pretty much the whole series. She was one of the most prejudiced people of the series. She kind of deserved what she got in terms of her and Loran. I felt more bad about losing her fiance in the nuclear blast.

I felt more bad for Loran tending to Dianna for the rest of her life. Now if they were married and were lovers it would be different but I don't think they got hitched.

Overall the series had a unique but terrible start. However the series improved alot and had very interesting characters even though a lot of them were very dumb and oblivious at times.

I give the series a 7/10. Very good overall, but there were quite a few hitches in the show.

It was a pretty good show. I think what hurt the series for me is that I felt no real attachment to pretty much any of the characters and I've seen the war theme portrayed better, or at least more to my liking, in stuff like LoGH and even the first Gundam series. Well, I did like Dianna and Kihel as strong willed leaders....which is something I can only commend.

As far as the ending, yeah, I'm with the ones that say that Loran stayed with Dianna as she spent her last how ever long she had to live. I know she said she wished to do that so I definitely liked how that turned out. I'm glad how Kihel and Harry turned out as well. As for Sochi? Well, I can't say I liked her all that much but talk about a shit ending for her.

All in all, I was somewhat disappointed in the series considering I had some admittedly high expectations. 7/10.

I had undeservedly high expectations for Turn A, it seems. It had so much potential that could have been used to produce a powerful war/political anime like LOGH but failed to use its characters and events in any meaning or even rational way the majority of the time. It turned out to be no more than another Gundam series. Most of the episodes weren't even successful in transmitting any meaning or emotion to me. The only one that stands out to me is Dianna's work with the hospital and Loran's use of the Gundam to wash clothes. That one really affected me and carried the series for a long time.

I liked the ending for most of the characters. Loran's felt natural as a man dedicated to him queen. I'm glad Charry and Kihel are happy. Sochie, however, had a sadder ending. She outgrew her brattiness somewhat, and I didn't mind her at all by the time she reached space. I feel really bad for her. :\

Great soundtrack and great protagonist for a Gundam series. I could not have watched this with another Amuro Ray or Judau.

7/10. Amusing, but time for something else~

Just finished Turn A and wow , what a great show, Turn A was awesome, Turn X was great. And thank god for gundam wikia for the Diana ending part
"At the end of the series Dianna permanently switches places with Kihel, and it is revealed that Rolan took on a mission to leave Sochie behind, (hence the kiss) out of loyalty to Dianna and accompany her to a small peaceful cabin on earth, where he will dutifully watch over her until her inevitable death due to illness caused by long periods of hibernation (which is hinted at by her walking stick). The ring Dianna is shown wearing was not a ring of marriage to Rolan but a momento of Will Game. The ambiguity of the ending sequences containing Rolan, Sochie and Dianna has caused much confusion and debate between fans as to its intended meaning by the creators."

I really liked the ending. This series really deserved a slice of life sequel just to tell exatcly what happened to the characters after the war.

I felt sorry for Sochie and Loran... But I feel relaxed after reading DarkRyuusei's quote from Gundam wikia. All of the other characters endings were good, thought.

This is one kind of a series that makes you want to know more about the characters. I hope I can find good fanfics.

That was quite an ending, Kanno's music is just too great. Overall, I very much enjoyed this Gundam and am happy to give it a great score of 9/10. One of my favorite, if not the favorite, Gundam overall.

The characters were extremely likable and memorable; a part of what makes a good anime, that misses from so many of today's stuff. There is just something so lovable in Dianna and Kihel, or Loran "Laura Rolla" Cehack.

The dynasty warrior games did a bad job at portraying just how powerful the turn A and Turn X were. Those gundams were monsters :O And I wonder what will hatch out of that cocoon?

lmao What did Guin turn into a pirate? xD

Sochie looked cute with that new hair style and I feel bad for her that Loran had to go attend to queen dianna but I think that last scene made it clear that she died so Loran can now go live with Sochie so she only had to wait a few years.

How was this ending confusing? If you paid attention it was obvious what happened. Dont feel like writing a long ass paragraph so i'll write in broken sentences. Dianna wants to live on earth, Kihel wants to be with harry, moonrace needs a queen, harrys a royal guard, they switch places, kihels with harry, moonrace has a queen, dianna gets to live on earth, dianna will die soon due to her time in hibernation, Lorans asks sochie to wait for him until dianna dies, the scene where it shows diannas ring clearly indicates her love for will game because in the next shot it shows Lorans hand and its ringless, Loran says see you tomorrow and gets no response which I interpret to mean she died.

Wait a second his name is Rolan? That sounds much better than Loran. I had a feeling tho that it was a mistranslation because when the female engineer showed harry lorans signature it started with a R.

To say it is best Gundam ever is rather subjective. But one thing I know for sure is this is the most beautiful Gundam story ever. If their intention was to create a show to serve as a closing door for the Gundam series then they did it. And the life go on ending that was used was the perfect ending for this show.

For the character, I am one of the early fan of Sochie. I thought her energetic brought something nice to the table but it never got far because she had to stuck in her role for being bratty, sigh. On the other hand, Diana and Kihel completely run the show by themselves once after they switched their identity and that was where the start to shine. I honestly say, they really completely made me falling in love with these 2 characters. If only that was the only thing we had in the show but god did not make our life any easier, didn't he? The show was so good but it got pull down by some bad writing and brain-dead side characters. One last good thing about this show is that no epic batter in this gundam. It served the purpose of what this show trying to accomplice. It is about the "characters" themselves that are fighting for peace and power therefore the action itself is not the priority and they did it.

As for the ending:
Kihel X Harry, they deserved it.
Sochie, while it looked sad but I think it was nice. I am not saying she deserved bad ending. I mean she fell for Loran but she could also fall for Gavane(not saying she is a whore here). She is still young and she can still fall in love with another good man. There is nothing to be sad about that.
Diana X Loran, I am not too sure if it is right or wrong but I think Diana is still in love with her original Will Game and the ring at the end might have something to do with that which also explain why Loran didn't have it on him. For Loran, I don't really question the ending he got I just think there is more than one way to live a happy life. Not to mention he got all he want, peace, living on earth and serving the queen.

I'm glad I didn't drop this because around ep 7 or something it was close, not the best gundam but it deserves a 8/10 from me. And i kinda liked the ending and even though I didn't like Sochie like half of the series because she was whiny and annoying I kinda feel bad for her at the end. But yeah it was a good watch even though prob 50 eps were too much than it needed.

ok it was a great show and i do love many aspects of the ending, but alot of it felt really rushed, like the way the final fight resolved felt kind of abrupt and the epilogue kind of sped by way too quickly for its own good.

even though id still argue the final fight ended way too abruptly, looking back on it this ending really was phenomenal and there was a ton of subtle nuances in it that make it seem way less rushed than i initially thought, I also love the ambiguity to some of it

Fucking hate this show, the dialogues were all over the place, and the characters really weren't that memorable, except for Harry, he's a very good Char clone. Powerful ending though, especially Sochie's screaming scene, hits me like Ayase's scene when she got rejected.

7/10 at the lowest points in the show, it had a few episodes that felt dragged out, and some of the people obviously didn't know how to sit down and talk about their mental issues. but at it's high points, man i got blown away. the show's well animated, the plot was on point for the majority of the series, the OST is godly, the characters for the most part felt real and developed, Loran now sits right behind, if not in front of Setsuna as my favorite MC, Harry is officially the best char clone, and the final 13 episodes or so were just beautiful.

Also, hitting a gundam in the crotch just to break up their fight... yeah, this gundam series is beautifully written. and very well executed. it might be 7/10 at it's lowest, but it's 9/10 everywhere else.

Maybe a slightly weaker ending than I had expected. I was kind of hoping for more resolution in way of the storyline going on with the Moonrace's migration to Earth.

The Turn A/Ghingham threat was extinguished, but we didn't really get much info on what happened with the migration. I imagine a lot of the Moonrace is remaining on the moon at least since Kihel took Diana's place as the Queen there.

Overall I enjoyed this series a lot, it had a great mix of drama and politics, and I liked the characters, especially I loved Diana's character. The ending was maybe a bit weaker than I expected but I'll give it a 8.

Edit: I actually ended up giving the series an 8, not a 9.

Glad that I watched this unique Gundam series, the ending was written to my liking: that concerns all characters plus this ending song was just perfect to support that events in the end...All I can say it's not a masterpiece for me but it was worth watching it because it is not common point of view on gundam universe.

Their should of been an epilogue episode explaining what happens after Dianna dies from the illness, confirm the ship ffs.

The ending was really beautiful, though the pace in the last few episodes was rather...weird.

My favourite Gundam so far.

Wow, that ending. I had to rewind like 4 times. Didn't expect KLK Recap Episode-level intensity from this show.

Very mixed feeling about the ending. What even happened to Gym Ginghnam? Did he die? He didn't have any last words.

Gym Ginghnam and Agrippa Maintainer's deaths end the diplomatic standoff between the Moonrace and Earthers I guess?

Also for all the panic about the Moonlight Butterfly, it was used on the battlefield several times and it didn't really seem to have much effect. It was pretty and everything, but it's hard to feel any kind of tension about it being used when nobody appears to suffer any visible harm from exposure to it.

Good show, lots of metaphorically resonant writing choices, but for me the ending seemed flimsy and rushed and didn't live up to the promise the show overall seemed to offer.

They made the ending to be ambiguous, which, I guess is fine.
I did not like Sochie. She didn't have enough likable character traits and was consistently annoying throughout. So I did not feel bad about Loran not choosing to be with her.
I was ACTUALLY relieved that something believably sad finally happened.
Not enough supporting characters died by the end (Gavane and Corin died, that's it.)
I loved the Harry/Kihel romance, that was my favorite character development.

otherwise...
-Gym was a nonsense BBEG.
-Guin looked pretty cool at the end.
-Loran was't super likable to begin with, and he didn't change at all by the end.
-NANOMACHINES SON
-The beginning felt really clumsy.

I still really liked it.
+The setting was a cool idea.
+Overall the story is pretty good.
+It's very colorful.
+This is the Gundam with the Dark History in it.

Well when I saw the series I didn't have a MAL account so I've rewatch the show and there's a little details I have pass the first time.

but I do really really feel bad for Sochie, but the details about Dianna's body had a clue, she's been live for so long, when they are running to the winters hall she clearly losses his breath in a second, witch gives the imppression that her body is starting to lose his condition.

The last hint was right after the final battle between turns when she relays on the capitan's chair like she was totally tired.

And at the end in the snow house she uses a walking stick, and her movements are slow and weak.

to resume, Dianna is not gonna live too much and Loran explains with almost no anticipation to sochie, that what pisses her off.

well I guess he'll eventually come back and they will have a happy ending, not just for Sochie but for Loran too, live his hole life in servitude its a little bit too much.

Yeah, it makes no sense that some people think Loran and Dianna have any romantic connection, unless they haven't been paying attention at all, especially the final scenes which include the walking stick and the "going to bed before it's even dark".

Didn't like the ending. No one really died. Everybody hooked up with everybody. But then again, the series wasn't good anyway, so I guess that was somewhat expected.

Screw Sochie especially though, riding Gavane's D for half the series and chasing Loran's for the other half.
