| year 20XX in the quiet town of ???? I clasped my hands together and offered a silent prayer to the picture in front of me. It was a picture of a man and woman holding her child smiling. As you have probably guessed, that cute little baby is me. My parents died when I was very young and I couldn't really remember much about them. All I know is that my family came from a long generation of sword smiths and our family pride themselves by making beautiful swords and the like. This ended when both of my parents died in an accident forcefully ending the generation without even my father handing his skills to me. Come to think of it, we used to have a lot of servants in this place back in the day. Without money to pay them, each of our servant left the place one by one except for my personal caretaker. A few years have passed and after turning 18, I rightfully claimed the right to our estate. I didn't really need such a big place to live by myself so I decided to sell it. My relatives from both sides are fighting each other to get my attention hoping that I would grace them some of my inheritance. Blasphemy! They didn't even bother to help me when I needed them the most and now they want my money?! Too bad but I have already written in a paper that most of it will be given to my caretaker. The only one who stayed even after everybody left me behind. Today will be the last day that I could call this place my own so I decided to go down to our secret basement. I just found this place last year when I was reading the books in our personal library accidentally flipping a switch that leads the way down. It seems to go down very deep so I decided to stop halfway and keep the knowledge of the basement for myself and just come back later. I was so busy at the time that I have completely forgotten to come back, but today will finally be the day for sure. What lies underneath? I brought a flashlight and carefully went down the stairs making a creaking sound like it would break any moment now. The place is so dusty and spiders seems to have made their nest inside. I continued walking down till I finally reach the bottom. It was a room close to the size of a 4 tatami bedroom. My only source of light was my flashlight but I still decided to go inside. In the middle of the room seems to be a dusty looking box. What could be inside? This has got me excited so I quickly opened the box to see its contents. Lucky me this box doesn't seem to have any locks. How careless of whoever left this thing here! Inside, there was a a book a rusty hammer and a fancy looking ring engraved with words I could not understand I decided to start with the book first to see what could be written inside. I could barely understand because of the minimum light provided but that didn't stop me. The contents seems to be like a novel in a world different to ours, involving swords and magic. Just like a fantasy world straight from those RPG games. What shocked me the most is that the book is blank after just a few pages. What the heck is this incomplete thing! I decided to put the ring on for now and bring the rusty looking hammer and the book with me back upstairs. |

The hands grip on my body is so tight that I feel like it'll make me lose consciousness. It sucked me inside the pitch black room and my vision suddenly went dark. What have I gotten myself into? My body seems to be drifting into nothingness and only the feeling of falling down remains. |

| Chapter 1 What is this place!? I slowly opened my eyes as I try to figure out what happened. It doesn't seem like I'm hurt but I do have a few bruises here and there and my clothes are dirty. I find myself lying on a bed of leaves on a seemingly unfamiliar place that looks like a forest. How did I get here? As I pondered my head with these questions, I suddenly remembered the events that took place just now. Ghastly hands pulling me inside in an endless pit of darkness and me losing consciousness after that. On my right is the book and hammer that I found on our basement. I also found the ring inserted on my right index finger which I found weird as I don't remember wearing it. It wouldn't certainly help me to just sit around so I decided to inspect my surroundings. I walk and walk with no sense of direction hoping to find something that could lead me out of here. After more or less than an hour of trekking without stop, I came upon a clearing in the forest with a small pond in the middle. I immediately stop after noticing the horse that is drinking water on the side along with what seems to be a big bag. I do not know what could happen so I decided to spy and wait for the person to come out first. After all, if there is a luggage, it's owner is most probably somewhere close. I do not want to scare whoever it is so I carefully positioned myself behind the bushes. I could hear the rustling of water and someone slowly approaching the horse that is peacefully resting at the edge of the pond. I couldn't contain my excitement as I slowly wait for the tiny silhouette to reveal itself so I tried to come closer carefully. To my surprise, what awaited me was something that I would describe as "godlike". Tiny petite body with a long flowing blonde hair enough to mesmerize any man that would witness this glory. Her wet naked body is truly a sight to behold! Well, she doesn't have any boobs but no problem! I'm on the flat-chested side! I couldn't see well on my current position so I decided to come a tiny little bit more closer. It's like the devil is whispering in my ear to fully witness her glorious body. A little bit more..... A little bit more..... *crack* Oh my lord! What is with this cliche development that looks like it came out straight from a romcom anime. If I remember correctly, this would be the time where I would be beaten to a pulp right? She turned her gaze towards my direction and angrily covered her lower body with a towel. She grab a small staff out of her bag and aimed it at me while whispering some words I couldn't understand. My eyes couldn't believe what I just saw when an electric attack came flying at me! It hit me directly fully paralyzing my tired body along with the pain of being electrified. I couldn't move an inch no matter how hard I try! She slowly approached me while carefully observing my reaction. Seeing that I couldn't move an inch, she angrily hit my face with her staff maybe because she's angry of being peeped at. She hit me so hard that my nose started to bleed. " I didn't expect to find a pervert in these parts! " And so after that, I lose my consciousness once again.............. |

| Chapter 2 Silly misunderstanding Whispering hisses, sizzling pops, and that thick intoxicating smell of a burning firewood woke me up. It's already night time and you can clearly see the moons reflection on the lake. My body is all tied up like a worm and a piece of clothing was stuffed inside my mouth. I tried looking around to some extent but being in my position, it's best not to waste what little energy I have left. Few minutes have passed after I woke up when the violent girl appeared and threw a bucket of cold water on my face. The cold water stings! This girl is crazy and is serious at what she's doing. I decided to look at her with pleading eyes to hopefully have her mercy... But it didn't work.. She in turn looks down at me with eyes of disgust. " Seems like a filthy human pig! What are you doing so close to our borders? Are you perhaps a spy? Nevertheless, you did something unforgivable and it will cost you your life. " Filthy human pig? Aren't you human yourself? Now that I carefully look at it, her ears are much longer and pointy. Cosplay perhaps? No, hers looks too real. Just like those elves from the fantasy anime that I see all the time. Intense bloodlust creep out of her body enough to make me shiver in fear. She took out a small dagger in her pocket which looks dangerously sharp. " I'm sure you've already seen heaven so now you will see hell!! Die you filthy human scum!! " I squirmed with all my might. Forcefully trying to spit out this piece of clothing that was stuffed in my mouth awhile ago. Will I die in this miserable place? Those are the words that were in my mind as the sharp edged steel slowly approached my neck. It's like slow motion...... closer and closer and closer and closer |

First, I went to our basement that I have accidentally found half a year ago. There I found a weird ring with engravings I couldn't understand, a detailed book about smithing, and a rusty looking hammer which I believed to be our family heirloom. After trying to read the words that we're engraved in the ring, a door or more like a portal appeared in front of me. Just when I was about to inspect it, ghastly looking hands suddenly popped out and pulled me inside. It was dark and I could feel like I'm falling into an endless pit of darkness. I lost consciousness and when I woke up, I was already in the woods. Then after almost an hour of walking, I came across the place where Eryn is. What's more worst is that she used something similar to magic or maybe it's magic after all. How do i know? Well, I play a lot of games and that's how it looks like to me. Also, she has long ears just like an elf similar to those games that I have played. What in the world just happened to me? Could it be that I... " Reimuz? Reimuuuuz!! " *pinch* She pinched my nose to get my attention. I seemed to be lost in thought for quite some time now. There's a lot of things for me to think about but I should probably just focus on the things at hand. I should also probably keep this a secret to avoid unwanted confusion and attention. | Chapter 3 Few hours have passed to where we left off. We finished eating breakfast and I even had the luxury to use the lake as my personal bathtub. I try to squeezed out as much information as I can while talking casually with Eryn. She didn't ask me any further about my memory so I would guess she bought what I said about not remembering some stuff and why am I here. She is actually heading to the nearest town a few miles from where we are hence the big backpack and the horse . It is actually also her first time going to the city out of the so called Great forest where she used to live at. Her purpose of going to the city seems to be somewhat personal. I'm curious as to what it is but also a little to embarrassed to ask. Seeing that I have no clues whatsoever, she decided that I could accompany her at least to where she's headed at. What am i even going to do when we get there? I decided not to think too much about it for now at least. " We're good to go over here! " Seems like she finished all the necessary preparations. I honestly don't feel too happy about relying on her too much but given my current circumstances, I have no choice. We're gonna be riding the horse alternatively every half an hour while the other person walks. I suggested riding it at the same but she quickly brushed the idea off even adding the words " How Shameless ". She is indeed right, i'm shameless for asking too many favors at the same time. We also didn't want to strain the horse that much seeing as she has such a big luggage. According to her, we should reach the town this evening if we just follow road ahead of us. Here are some things that I found out about Eryn and this world. Eryn really is not a human. She is a being called "Effu". Her race seems to be very efficient with magic and have a close tie with nature. Possesing traits similar to humans but with longer ears and longer lifespan. Kinda like those elves from the fantasy rpg game that I used to play. Even after most races prepared to advance with technology, they still decided to seclude themselves in the forest thus making the forest their natural habitat. They like to live in silence and peace secluding themselves from the outside world while keeping their ancient knowledge to themselves. She didn't exactly told me why she left but I felt like she was a little lonely. Hopefully, it was just my imagination. The existence of magic is REAL. Like R-E-A-L! She was shocked when I asked her what kind of trick she used yesterday to be able to produce electricity from her hand enough to paralyze a man such as myself to the ground. Surprisingly enough, learning magic is very simple but advancing your magic skills is quite hard. Last but not the least is what scared me the most. I asked Eryn if she has a map of this place and of course, she does. I prepared myself before looking at the map and it is exactly what I thought. I was denying the thought of being sent to another world ever since I got here but this map in my hand slap me with reality. Magic, effu and a world completely different to mine. In this world, I have nothing. No relatives, no money, and not even a place to go home to. My hands started shaking and my insides feels like its been turned upside down. I felt like puking but decided to hold it in because of Eryn. I was able to calm myself after a while but I do not know what will happen in the future. |

A very busy town to say. It will be a good place to start this nightmare, hopefully I can find a way to make some money fast. I seem to have forgotten as well about our family heirloom. Eryn took possession of the book and hammer when I fainted from her attack. Ah, thank God! I wouldn't know how I would face my ancestors if I happen to lose this. Now that I think about it, I could use the knowledge in this book and start smithing. That way I could continue my family skills and earn some money on the side at the same time! Genius! Seeing that this world has magics and the like, it wouldn't be weird if there's a blacksmith in town. I could start off as an apprentice or help out doing grunt work. That's common knowledge to the games that I play. Here's me hoping it would be that easy but I should't get my hopes up that much. I got excited and a weird smile appeared on my face. | The sun has already set and we could finally see the city from afar. I wasn't used to traveling on foot so I immediately got tired. Looks like I was worrying for nothing. A while ago, I told Eryn to take a quick nap and I'll guide the horse in the meantime. She was hesitant at first but you could see the exhaustion built up on her face. She's been traveling far longer than me now all by herself. Even though this is her first time, she has done considerably well. We slowly approach the city gates so I woke Eryn up. Her dazed face is also considerably cute. She quickly wipe the drool off her face as we approach the guards on duty. I immediately noticed the swords on their waist. Now I'm really positive that there's a blacksmith in town. If not one, there could be even more! They inspected our belongings and after a few minutes, they told us to move on. One of the guards made a remark about Eryn... " Effu huh? We don't see them much around here. Be careful now. " I thought you would need some kind of pass or identification, but I guess not. The security seemed kind of lax for a merchant city. You couldn't see much of the town at night but a few shops are still open for business. Thankfully, the stable was still open so we were able to leave the horse over there without worry. We tried looking for an inn but most of the ones we found are already full or are too expensive. |
| I was the one carrying her stuff but I could see the frustration on Eryn's face. She seemed to be the type to be quickly agitated or perhaps just without patience. As we we're walking around at the edge of the town, we passed by a shop with a sword on the sign. Even if I couldn't read the sign, I could tell that this is a blacksmith shop. The lights are still on so I decided to pay a visit inside. Eryn came along seeing she doesn't have anything better to do anyways. *gulp* Inside the shop is a very messy place that reeks of sweat. That didn't stop me as I was already fascinated by the countless works of art that are hanging on the wall. Eryn pulled my sleeve telling us to go out but her words didn't reach me. I carefully inspected the swords that are in front of me. I didn't even realize it myself when I have already muttered the words " Beautiful " I have seen many different kind of swords back home giving me the ability to identify quality craftsmanship. You could easily tell that these swords are made with love and dedication. I felt very nostalgic and I suddenly remembered the time when I used to watch my father in awe while he skillfully do his work. " So, what do you think lad? " " Iyaaa I'm inlove~ " " Hahaha! Been a while since I've seen someone as honest as you. Most of the young ones this days only care about the looks! " |
| A man with a well forged body and copper like skin greeted us. You can see the wrinkles on his face depicting his old age while he exudes an aura of wisdom. Without a doubt, this old man is the one responsible for crafting these beautiful pieces of artwork in front of me. My mind has already decided. I want to study under this man. In such a place where I do not know anybody, I can only trust my own skills. I respectfully greeted him and after a short while of pleasantries, I introduced myself and my companion. " Reimuz and Eryn eh? The name's Gordon! Yer welcome to come here anytime you want. " Now is probably the right time. I bowed down with my head on the floor. Eryn was shock at my behavior while the old man just looks down at me. I have to be sincere for this to work. " Please! Make me your apprentice! " He told me to stand up and gaze straight into my eyes. Trying to see if I'm serious or not. His carefree attitude was nowhere to be seen and only an air of silence fills up the place. The atmosphere was getting intense and sweat can be seen dripping on my face. " Alright, we will start tomorrow. " And thus, a new relationship of master and apprentice was born. Everything happened so fast that I was even shock myself. i didn't realize things would go this smoothly..... or so I think. |
| Chapter 4 Getting used to life A couple of days have passed since I started being Gordon's apprentice. He told me to use one of the rooms in his house to make things easier for the both of us. I look at Eryn and she gave me this look in response saying she'll be fine. She was about to leave the place and say our goodbyes when I shamelessly asked Gordon if she could stay with us. I was disgusted at myself that I didn't even realize she was also lost on what to do. He didn't even think about it and agreed right away with the condition that she will be helping around the house. Cleaning and maybe preparing food from time to time. I thought we would be having different rooms but his house only has 3. 1 for himself, 1 for his daughter who is currently away on a trip and the other is for us. Eryn didn't like the thought of sharing a room with me given to how we first met but her lack of options swayed her mind. We have decided that she will use the bed of course and I would just lie down on the floor using a sleeping bag. From our previous observation, I could understand the language in this world but I could not read nor write. I'm just glad to be able to communicate with them fluently. Being lost in an unfamiliar place and nobody understanding what you're trying to say. Such a scary thought indeed. From morning to late afternoon, Master has been teaching me the basics little by little and sometimes fetching some request here and there. Delivering requested items throughout the town while learning language with Eryn at night time. From time to time I would notice Eryn gazing out at the window with this sorrowful expression. Something must have happened making her leave her hometown and making her travel all by herself. I want to ask her why but she always shrugs me off whenever I get an opportunity. It's not my business I know but I'm worried about her. After all, she has helped me so much. She even bought me a pair of clothes with the supposedly lodging money she was going to use if she stayed at the inn. |

| Also, the currency in this world is pretty simple. iron>copper>silver>gold>??? coins A piece of bread could cost you as little as 2 iron coins and a day at a regular inn would cost you around 80-120 iron coins depending on the size of the room. 1000 pieces of iron coin is equivalent to 1 of copper coin and a 1000 pieces of copper coin is equivalent to 1 silver coin and so forth going all the way to gold. |

We're gonna be riding the horse alternatively every half an hour while the other person walks. I suggested riding it at the same but she quickly brushed the idea off even adding the words " How Shameless ". She is indeed right, i'm shameless for asking too many favors at the same time. We also didn't want to strain the horse that much seeing as she has such a big luggage. According to her, we should reach the town this evening if we just follow road ahead of us. Here are some things that I found out about Eryn and this world. Eryn really is not a human. She is a being called "Effu". Her race seems to be very efficient with magic and have a close tie with nature. Possesing traits similar to humans but with longer ears and longer lifespan. Kinda like those elves from the fantasy rpg game that I used to play. Even after most races prepared to advance with technology, they still decided to seclude themselves in the forest thus making the forest their natural habitat. They like to live in silence and peace secluding themselves from the outside world while keeping their ancient knowledge to themselves. She didn't exactly told me why she left but I felt like she was a little lonely. Hopefully, it was just my imagination. The existence of magic is REAL. Like R-E-A-L! She was shocked when I asked her what kind of trick she used yesterday to be able to produce electricity from her hand enough to paralyze a man such as myself to the ground. Surprisingly enough, learning magic is very simple but advancing your magic skills is quite hard. Last but not the least is what scared me the most. I asked Eryn if she has a map of this place and of course, she does. I prepared myself before looking at the map and it is exactly what I thought. I was denying the thought of being sent to another world ever since I got here but this map in my hand slap me with reality. Magic, effu and a world completely different to mine. In this world, I have nothing. No relatives, no money, and not even a place to go home to. My hands started shaking and my insides feels like its been turned upside down. I felt like puking but decided to hold it in because of Eryn. I was able to calm myself after a while but I do not know what will happen in the future. I especially like this part. Nice explanation |
