A nice little introduction :D Don’t kill me! It’s a sin of mine, Panda-sama and Mortem :D
Cassiel was walking down the street, his head was full of questions and there was one which he really couldn’t find the answer too, and unluckily this one was bothering him the most: How the hell is he supposed to find himself some companions who, instead of getting in the way would actually help him find the damned chronicles... ah for god’s sake.
Lagoon Abyss was actually a pretty village –even considering it was a demon town, and demon towns were usually kept in better condition due to the lack of wars and fights. On Cassiel’s left hand side stood a tall wall made from white brick... and well the curiosity killed the cat but... Cassiel was already dead . And so, when he noticed a hole in the wall –right close to the ground, but big enough to push through it- he couldn’t help but take a look inside... and he immediately knew that he had to see more. Green grass, beautiful colourful flowers... fountain?! All of this imitated a striking park, but Cassiel realised quickly that it was only a garden. Only?! Phew. The vampire regretted that he didn’t have his camera on him. And so, looking ahead and not really looking down, Cassiel continued forwards, admiring the nature and the beautiful sculptures on the fountains. He wanted just for a moment sit down on the bench to just take it all in... But he didn’t have the chance. He tripped and landed on something that wasn’t as hard as the ground and the smell... heh the smell was much more pleasant too.
“Tsk tsk... what interrupts my afternoon nap?” a low, amused voice murmured, it must have belonged to the one beneath him. “Oh I found a kitty... a white kitty!” a strong arm wrapped around his waist, so that Cassiel had to rest almost his whole weight on the chest of his ‘mattress’, when ‘it’ changed its position from lying down to sitting up. “How did you end up here sweetheart?” the purple eyes looked at the boy sitting in his lap with interest. Not that he minded, of course not! He took a closer look at his guest. The boy was adorable and Prospero wouldn’t mind a closer acquaintance with him. He smiled flirtatiously and winked. “Would you like some afternoon tea?”
Cassiel immediately knew it was no human. Human... heh human would’ve smelt even better but... it wasn’t also a vampire. Cassiel knew perfectly well that vampires, just like him, had much colder skin... and so the cheerful purple eyes must have belonged to a demon. “T...tea? Oh, sorry to have intruded on your possession sir... never mind” he said and wanted to get up but the demon’s arm got in the way. “Either way I’m quite busy and... I don’t have time. I have absolutely no time! And so... all the pleasure is mine but...” What else could he say?! He really didn’t want to waste time. Seriously... but on the other hand an angry demon was a dangerous demon.
“Don’t worry so much kitty, there’s no need” he got up and helped the boy get on his feet “Come with, we’ll have tea and you’ll tell me all about why you’re so busy and maybe I’ll be able to help you” he offered his arm. “What do you say?”
“My name is Cassiel” he replied and after short pondering rejected the demon’s arm. “I’ll stay for tea” but this didn’t mean that he’d just be running around after this man! Of course though, he had to admit that the demon was nicely toned... and his platinum blond hair seemed extremely soft.
“Prospero, nice to meet you Cassiel” the demon wasn’t discouraged and put his hands in his pockets. “We must walk over to the arbour; I’m hoping you’ll like it.” He said over his shoulder. They walked for a moment in a calm silence now and then interrupted by the buzzing insects and the rippling of the water in the fountain. Their eyes met a small, wooden house overgrown by the white rose bushes. Prospero walked over and moved aside the perfectly matching white curtain. “Welcome, do come inside” he bowed elegantly.
“Thank you” Cassiel replied politely and came inside. The light, crème curtains made from an almost see-through fabric were pulled aside, and the dim light entered the room. Apart from two comfortable armchairs covered with white leather, the only other furniture was a glass table on which there stood a silver tray. On the tray, there was beautifully decorated teapot and two teacups- Cassiel was sure it was Chinese porcelain. He sat down on the arm chair and indulged in watching the gorgeous lilies standing in a tall vase, as well as the orchids in pots standing on the side.
“Tea will be served shortly” Prospero sat down in the armchair opposite and poured Cassiel a capful of aromatic tea, after this he rested his chin charmingly on his hand and looked at the boy. “So, why are you in such a rush?”
Cassiel took the teacup in his hand and for a little while enjoyed the gentle smell. “...I have a quest to do... and in fact I should really start on it as soon as possible, but the problem is I am unable to do it alone and... I’m looking for help.” He made himself more comfortable “I must find something... a book to be precise... the chronicles written during the war.... assuming you’ve actually heard of it, I mean it only involved humans and vampires.” He started. Cassiel didn’t want to get into it just for talking the story sake.
“Why?” Prospero asked straight. Fact- he didn’t care about the amusing adventures of other species. He had his problems and his issues, why the heck would he get involved in others? Funny, should he offer this pretty boy blood or juice? He discreetly noted the fangs – a little bigger... meaning he was a vampire. Prospero stretched fully aware of his looks, but still a bit drowsy after the nap.
“Heh I’m not some hero ready to save the world.” Cassiel replied shrugging his shoulders. “But you know yourself what times we live in... a little longer and there will be another war and if the book gets in the wrong hands...we’re screwed. And so... you don’t really need to know why I’m looking for it, but...I must get it. Whatever it takes” he stated in a confident voice.
Prospero put a finger on his lips. Even though he didn’t know the kid he didn’t want anything bad to happen to him and he was definitely speaking of some damn important things while there were lots of wicked ears listening. He sighed inwardly –the brat wouldn’t survive in his world with such simple thinking. He heard quiet knocking and the old smile came back to his face. “Please, come in Vittoria!” a servant came in wearing a simple black dress, she had a white cap on her brown hair. “Here, the tea is served” she bowed low. “Thank you, you can leave... ah!” he pretended to just remember something “Would you like a glass of blood Cassiel?” he asked with a charming smile, his eyes amused.
Cassiel was surprised that Prospero actually showed sign of interest; he could just as well let the servant hear their conversation. The question made him smile. “No, thank you. I prefer fresh blood and not from a glass... and I doubt your ward would be keen.” He replied peacefully.
“If you’d like...” he made a gesture and the servant, quivering leaned down showing her nape. “After all it’s just a human.
Cassiel grabbed the girl by the hair and pulled her closer. The servant could feel the hot breath on her neck when the white-haired vampire moved away and chuckled shortly. “Really, you’re not my type, I’m sorry.” He said to the girl with an amused smile. Seeing humans being afraid was actually rather pleasant.
“What a gourmet you are” Prospero chuckled shortly. “Vittoria” he pointed at the door with his chin, and she was gone. “Help yourself” he said and reached for the bowl with fresh strawberries and started to devour them. “I adore the summer fruits” he purred in a low voice, clearly astonished by the taste of the fruits.
“Ah... see I never get much out of summer” Cassiel grimaced and reached for cherries. He waited for a moment. “Coming back to the topic... I know nearly nothing about the book. I only have one pointer and I know which town to go to first. That’s all.” He added and helped himself to a strawberry “Lush.”
“In sum” Prospero bit into a big strawberry “You’re looking for the chronicles of the last war between vampires and humans, yet all that you know is the name of the town in which, maybe, you will find out something more or... or maybe even find the book itself, yes?” aside from the facade of a spoiled rich-born playboy when he looked into Cassiel’s eyes, the amethyst glare was clear and cool “Isn’t this the book which has amusing romantic origins?”
Cassiel listened carefully and then nodded his head. “I know that it sounds like needle in a haystack. I know. And... As for the amusing romantic origins I can only be guessing for now” he said “Because... I seriously know nothing at the time being.” He shrugged his shoulders “But from what I know this is the only book that has survived from around that time... and judging from what you just said it seems like you have heard of it, right?” he rose his eyebrows. Well, any information was useful.
He nodded his head and smiled mockingly, Prospero took another strawberry and played with it by biting on it, licking and sucking the sweet juice. He hid his eyes underneath eyelids, not wanting the kid to know what he was thinking.
Cassiel cocked his eyebrows. He wouldn’t be male if he didn’t observe with interest as the demon’s mouth was crushing the poor fruit and carefully drinking the juice. He blushed slightly. “Either way... this is what’s keeping me occupied.” He summed it up.
“Hmmm... by yourself?” he asked making sure that his voice was disbelieving enough. Prospero wasn’t surprised at all, the kid was reaching for the sun barehanded. He has heard of the book, or rather the collection of them. He knew some hypothesises concerning its location; he remembered some surnames and suspected who could know more about the topic. However, for the time being he had to take care of the family business. This was his priority.
“Well... no. I mean...” Cassiel began and already started feeling silly “I’m by myself now... but I’ll find someone to help me. Because I know that this quest is a bit much for one, charming vamp” he said with a small smile “But... since I said it all now, and you don’t seem to be interested... then we should probably part?” he rose his eyebrows.
“Cassiel... do you have a place to spend the night?” Prospero looked deep into his eyes; the light eyebrows cocked causing a few wrinkles which made the ever-so smiling face more serious.
“I can find a place...” he replied calmly to show that he wasn’t dependent on the good will of his host. He wondered there accidentally and could leave at any point and find himself a room at a hotel or inn.
“If you like, you can stay here. We have many empty rooms and I’ll be more at peace knowing you’re safe” he kept the ‘serious’ expression laughing like an insane on the inside. This quote he found in a romance trash which Cecile was reading. “Keep close if you don’t want to get lost” he winked at him and left the arbour. They have walked back through the splendid garden until they have reached the main house. The pair went up the enormous granite stairs and two servants bowed low and opened the heavy double door. “Welcome in my home.”
The boy’s lips parted in astonishment when his eyes met the beautifully lit, light corridor. It was marvellously decorated, even the rails had reliefs of flowers and complicated patterns. Cassiel kept close to Prospero, he didn’t wish to get lost in this place. He looked up and admired the tall ceiling. What a grand house...! Still though it was pleasantly warm, yet not too hot.
“I see it’s to your liking?” they went up to the first floor and out to the balcony “It will be quicker this way.”
“...it’s a very stunning house. I think that during the day, the light must be splendid, no?” Cassiel asked while still looking around.
“Indeed” Prospero nodded “the chandeliers twinkle beautifully at dawn” he pointed at the massive crystal chandeliers which one could see even from the outside. One of the glass doors opened, and a boy of Asian looks emerged. “Prospero!” he squealed and jumped on the man, wrapping his arms around the demon’s neck and his legs around the hips. “I’ve been looking for you!” he sang lovingly. The blond man’s big hand stroked the boy’s back. “Kazuya, come down, someone may see us and then my big brother will castrate me, and...” he squeezed the boy’s buttock “you wouldn’t like that, right?” The Asian boy moaned shamelessly and got off the demon. Now Cassiel could get a better look at him: he was of an average height with long, pretty face, almond-shaped and practically black eyes and dark brown hair reaching his shoulders. “Prosper... who’s this?” Kazuya pouted his lips looking suspiciously at the white haired.
“My guest, and I want you to treat him well Kazu” they carried on forward, the Asian still clinging to the blond’s arm.
“Alriiight” he murmured and put a lock of his hair behind the ear showing a diamond earring in a shape of a tortoise.
“O... another gift from Conrad?” Prospero asked amused.
“Yup! Pretty, ne?”
Cassiel observed the scene with some interest. It wasn’t even the fact that the boy was adorable and pretty... nope. He wasn’t interested in the clearly erotic nature of the relationship... or rather that whatever it was that was bounding them was sex. The thing which intrigued Cassiel the most was one word which Prospero said: brother. Everyone had their own skeletons in their closets... right? For some it could be a relationship full of pleasures and delights with someone who didn’t really belong to them. Splendid. He nodded his head politely to Kazuya, but still couldn’t stop thinking of him as an easy and shallow doll. Well... at least it was a very beautiful doll.
When they stopped in front of one of the rooms, Kazuya was at the stage of trying to unzip Prospero’s trousers, but the irritated man pulled him away. “Go to the room Kazu” he commanded in a voice not bearing any resistance.
“Your room?” the Asian chuckled licking his lips. Prospero combed his own light hair in a tired manner and simply nodded, the boy disappeared in the corridor, skipping away. “I’m sorry about him” Prospero sighed. “All that you need is in the wardrobe. I bid you good night and sweet dreams Cassiel.” He said in a low and warm voice, the smile finally reached his purple eyes.
Cassiel nodded his head. “Goodnight. I’m sure you will spend your night pleasurably” he replied finally and smiled back. It was difficult to stay fully serious when the man smiled in such a kind and inviting manner. He sighed quietly when Prospero has left him alone in the room. Soon he found the private bathroom where he took a long and pleasant shower. When he was all clean and saturated with the rich smells, he found some pyjamas in the wardrobe and lay down in the comfortable bed. He noted that Prospero cared a lot not only for aesthetics in the house but also for the fabrics to be soft to touch and to smell almost seductively. He wondered how many people lived in this grand mansion, and managed to fall asleep.
***
“Cassiel, darling wake up! One, two, three! Get up princess” warm hands were tugging on him a little. Cassiel cocked his eyebrows and regrettably opened his eyes. Only then did he remember where he was and why this handsome demon was shaking him.... but before he could ponder on it in depth his senses went wild, and Cassiel sat up on the bed as if someone poured a bucket of ice cold water on his head. His pale cheeks turned pink when the strong smell of sweet blood reached his nose. Oh god, how sweet! He stared at Prospero with big brown eyes.
“The sleeping beauty is up” the blond man smiled and sat down on the bed. “Wake up kitty, we’re going away.” He placed a warm, fragrant hand on his cheek. He was calm and confident. “I’ll help you find the chronicles, and now you should dress and let us be off.”
“I’m not a princess” Cassiel murmured to himself. He’ll help!? The Vampire was still confused due to the strong smell of the blood. “Well... alright but this could take a while. You understand that, right?” he asked. Even though it was nice to feel the warm hand... he moved away and got up from the bed. Cassiel didn’t waste time.
“I’m aware of it.” Prospero replied and with no embarrassment followed the boy with his eyes.
“And... that I won’t let you just leave, because it would put me in a difficult position?” he added and didn’t even think about it when he took off the top of the pyjamas showing his slender, fragile body and very smooth, pale skin. He reached for the shirt.
“Do you really take me for an idiot?” he asked with fatigue, the demon really had many sides the world knew nothing of.
“I don’t judge because I don’t know you” Cassiel replied simply. He buttoned up the shirt. “But...great. I’ve got a first person... but I never thought I’d be taking a demon with me” he murmured still disbelieving.
“Hmm? Why?” Prospero got up and adjusted his long waistcoat. “Ready?” he took his coat from the chair and threw it over his shoulder nonchalantly.
“Because demons aren’t known to help vampires. “ Cassiel explained and got one last glance at the room. He looked in the mirror. All was in its place. “Let’s go” he nodded.
Prospero nodded and opened the door for him.

It was nearing morning and Ki was hungry. He hasn’t had a decent meal in 2 days, not to mention his last human pray-dinner was already 28 days ago. *But what else would you expect when wandering trough the middle of nowhere?* Ki asked himself. His stomach made some terrible noise, and adding to that there was the sound of his persistent sighs. *Thank heaven I’m nearing some village in an hour or so. Nothing but fresh human flesh for me today* He smiled as he was walking trough the forests he used to roam when he was young. He looked around in amazement and took in the moist air that hung between the trees and smelled like a forest is supposed to smell in his opinion. He listened to the birds, the sounds of animals creeping trough the bushes and the creek nearby.

He caught a glimp of some deer who was passing by, a young one, probably lost, for her mother wasn’t with her. It reminded him of his first kill, when he was 6 years old, he found a baby deer with 2 broken legs who was on the verge of life and death. Ki’s mother had been sick at that time so he had to make sure both had something to eat, and he was starving. No one in town wanted to hire him to do some chores and he didn’t have money now his mother was too ill to work. Nobody in town liked him for he didn’t belong anywhere. At that time he didn’t know that was because he was half demon and half human, that would have been to complicated to explain to a kid who didn’t know there was something like sex. Now he knew exactly what was wrong with him, the humans were afraid of him for he was half demon, and the demons hated him for he was a weakling and half human. In the end, he killed the baby deer with his bare hands, ripping apart it’s skin and while he was satisfied with raw intestines, he baked the meat for his mother.

Ki awoke from his pondering when he almost walked into a tree, but not for long. *I can’t believe it has been 20 years since my last visit of this place, it hasn’t changed a bit over time* Ki still recognised all trails that were there in his youth, he even stopped by at the big old oak at the edge of the forest, not far from the outskirts of the village he grew up in. When he was about 14 years old, he carved a symbol in the top of the tree, in one of the highest thick branches that could support his weight at that time. To do that he had to climb his way up to the lower branches by using other trees and jumping from one to an other. Feeling sentimental due all these memories that flooded him, he wanted to see this carving again. This time he just ran towards the tree, ran up it for a few steps and then jumped to a strong looking branch. When he reached it he grabbed onto it to prevent himself from falling down, and pulled himself up. From there on it was a children’s play getting up higher. This jumping around reminded him of how he was as a child, playful and adventurous, it got his adrenaline rushing. There it still was, his carving, time has made it less clear and parts were covered with moss. It basically was an ‘A’ form upside down, with a ‘K’ on top and a ‘C’ hidden in the triangle of the ‘A’ … Akai ‘Ki’ Chiroku. Ki brushed away the moss and got his sword, his favourite weapon he called Mortem, and deepened the carvings. Then he carved the current year below it and the year in which he first carved it above the monogram. This had, surprisingly enough taken 40 minutes to complete, even with the sharp tip of Mortem.

*It’s getting lighter, even in the forest, I got to go if I want to kill without leaving traces* He climbed down, jumped to a different tree and from there leaped to the ground. He grabbed a bird that flew by in a reflex, nearly crushing the creature. “Sorry for that” Ki said while laughing to the animal “I’m having a way better meal than you, so shuuuuuu” With those words he trew the bird up in the air. At first it was a bit stunned from all that has happened so suddenly so it was already falling down, to Ki’s sadistic satisfaction, before it opened it’s wings and soared off. All that time the animal never made a sound. *Strange it was so quiet* But Ki had nor time nor energy to waist with finding an answer to that.

He took of and closed in on the eastern border of town, near where his mother used to live in a small shack. He checked the area, but it didn’t ‘feel’ like there was something human around *At least not living* He thought when scratching the back of his head. He once again made a little detour to where his mother’s house was. He found it had collapsed under the weight of a small tree that probably came down in a storm. He got himself a closer look to the tree and the wooden planks that once were a house. The tree was still in good shape, meaning it has only died recently, perhaps less than 2 months ago. Then he checked out the timberwork, one board crumbled as he touched it. “Bad maintenance, not like mum” The worms were crawling over the place and there were holes in the ground that probably sheltered small mammals. “Abandoned years ago” He concluded whispering to himself. *I guess she’s dead, for her health has always been terrible since I can remember* He wasn’t all that surprised, but it was still a depressing thought.

Ki now saw the sun shining bright on the forest floor. *I’m too late to kill a human in town and cover my tracks, perhaps I should try to find a house where I can get some rest and perhaps get myself a snack.* Killing people inside their houses wasn’t to Ki’s liking, but then again, it would give him a nice meal.

He wandered off and saw a big stone fencing, white sandstone. He walked along the side until he was sure nobody was around to find him there. Then he leaped up and pulled himself to the top of the wall, lowering himself on the other side. He looked around and was stunned to find the area was massive, the lawn mown, flowers were everywhere and some place at the side of it there was a piece of yard with fruit trees and plants. *Rich basterd living here uh? Perhaps I can get myself some maid.* He grinned. He walked up to a little wooden place, sat down in the shade and focussed. He tried to find it people were in this property. He sensed a human, no 2, no more, and … *what’s that, it ain’t human, it’s stronger, perhaps a demon? Ohh wait, an other one too, weaker this time, but still superhuman, perhaps a demon, or a vampire* Ki chuckled “This will be fun!” He headed towards the main house, hiding his presence as good as possible for something you haven’t practiced a lot. * The superhumans are above, 1 human downstairs, let’s check that out.* He walked around the place towards what later proved to be the kitchen. The big glass doors were open and he could smell some delicious dishes being prepared. *Like I wasn’t starving enough* Ki thought. He unsheathed Mortem and peaked around the corner. But what he saw was the least he’d expect to find. He found his mother, standing there, alive, preparing a meal. He stood there, head around the corner, sword in one hand, and wasn’t able to move. As the women was about to turn around, Ki regained his senses. He quickly ducked and crawled back from the open doors. He felt the grass tickle against his bare arms and neck, it was still covered with dew, and that must have woken him up enough to realise he was still holding a sword. He quickly sheeted it and thought he was about to die as he heard the sound it made. Although barely hearable, it felt like it would awake the entire village. He listened to any sounds from the kitchen indicating his mother had heard it. But there were none. *How come she is here, is this her place? No, if that were true she wouldn’t be making breakfast, so she’s a servant … Does the master or lady of the house take proper care of her? How is she doing? She looks well, aged though, but what else would I expect?* These thoughts were nearly driving him mad. He was rescued in a very strange way, he was SO hungry he couldn’t bare lying down here without eating, especially not with the smell of his mothers home made food there.

He ran of towards the wall of white sandstone and killed the nearest animal he could find within them. It was a rabbit, not even enough to get his mood up. The poor thing was very unlucky to be jumping trough a hole in the wall that was visible for the half-demon. Ki had crushed the creature’s head, ripping his ears off at the same time, therefore spreading blood and brains over the lawn. But he didn’t care, he had to eat or else he would kill his mother or her colleagues and friends. The young man quickly got a dagger to open his prey up and eat all that seemed eatable.

Ki wasn’t very picky when it came down to food. He had been chased by humans, demons and vampires, so he needed to eat raw meat and intestines because making a fire would give away his position and would take way too long, he needed to stay ahead of his pursuers. Ki would never have thought that there would be a place where humans, vampires and demons lived together and cooperated. He killed a woman of high status and probably didn’t cover his tracks well enough, so the entire village, no matter what race, came to hunt him down. The man’s ‘bloodlust’ was enormous, but he knew he didn’t stand a chance against all of them at once. He luckily managed to shake them off and from that day on Ki learned to cover all tracks of his murderous hunts.

The problem was, even when devouring all the intestines and meat, a rabbit couldn’t satisfy his needs. He knew this would once again become troublesome, killing creatures and ripping them apart in the presence of 2 superhuman creatures. *I can only hope that the landlord is human and these two are his guests, who don’t care about a rabbit more or less. Or else I will be baked and then there will be cake.* Ki knew he could fight on equal terms or even win against one of them, but having both against him would become his downfall. But the damage has already been done, the smell of blood, taken by the wind towards the big house, the sound of the rabbits strange ‘shriek’ when he landed his boot on the back of the animal’s head, the pieces of the corps he wouldn’t eat, the brain mess on the floor and his footprints would indicate this wasn’t the work of any animal.

Even though he had expected these superhuman beings to find him, he didn’t expect it to happen this fast…

((Okay, i hope this is a good start :3 ))

Lucas Kingston strided down the cobblestone street, looking around at the small shop and the priceless antiques in the window displays. "Hmm....I wonder how Cassiel-san is doing.....the last time I saw him wasw hen I was merely 12 or 13 years old....", Lucas thought out loud in a soft murmer. The auburn haired man continued down the pathway. He then came upon a large manison (it's a mansion they're at, right?). He looked at the address," The de' Scalla's.....where have I heard that name before.......ah! Prospero!", he smiled when he remembered the man. He walked up to the door and knocked on it

Darien wandered around town with his pack slung over his shoulder. He loved to walk around towns that he came across, though he often wandered a bit too far and had to ask directions in order to continue moving towards the mercenary training base he had been due at...about four days ago. Oh well. Once he got to the base, Darien would probably just glance at the entrance and turn around anyways. He hadn't particularly wanted to become a mercenary anyway. And then that had happened...and so now, the young man was just wandering around and taking the time to thoroughly enjoy the places he passed through. Especially this town. It was nice, with its cobblestone pathways and quaint shops and kind people. Just the other day, while he had been resting on a bench under a tree, the man had considered finding a place to rent, or buy, if he could actually afford it. (That was quite unlikely, unfortunately.) But the thought had been shaken out of his head. Every time he thought about settling down, starting a family...the adventures he had gone on and the ones he yet hadn't jumped into his mind, taunting him and reminding him of the world he had yet to see. And so he told himself, "Just a little bit more. I'll travel a bit more, and if I don't find a place I love I'll come back and settle here."

Preferably not too close to the mercenary base, in case they hunted him down for backing out on them. ^_-

((Guilty as charged, currently waiting for what's about to happen. It was shocking though to find that you guys already started (especially the part that Katie can get on MAL again (@Katie: Using your own pc again? Or are you abusing you mum's worklaptop?) Anyway, this all sounds very good to me, can't wait to see what's to happen next =3))

Cassiel with the company of Prospero was heading to the main gate to leave the demon's possession. Soon enough though, they heard a knocking on the gate. "You're expecting someone?" he asked furrowing his eyebrows. As if this wasn't enough there was a fresh scent of blood around. New blood and it was coming from an animal as well. The vampire looked around clearly intrigued.

Lucas stood there paitently waiting for someone to come to the gate. "I haven't seen Prospero in a while....I think The last time was about a years or so ago...", Lucas thought to himself out loud, but a little quietly. He looked through the barred slats in the gate and saw Cassiel and Lucas's eyes widened,"Cas....siel.....", he murmered, seeing the vampire, then before he said anything else, he had a thought,Wait.....what do I do if Cassiel doesn't remember me?...., Lucas thought as he watched the vampire. Suddenly, Lucas felt a sharp pain in his hand. He looked down and saw that his hand was bleeding badly,"What the hell....how did that happen....?", he asked himself softly

(*cough cough* firstly...Cookie I DID put up the order in which we're replying : smart, panda, mortem, cookie, katie.... because the big post I posted was a joined work of mine, panda's and mortem's. Either way.... I'd also like to point out that Prospero in his profile has got the 'hate people' thing ^^" sooo we're just kind of wondering how come Lucas know of him? oooh I dont mean to be mean btw! Just wanted to point it out..also it may be worth reconsidering and maybe making Lucas into a vampire/demon??? This way he'd also be more useful for the team. Once again... I don't mean to be harsh!)

"No." the answer was short. No one with a healthy mind would dare interrupting the peace of the Della Scala family BEFORE noon- even the postman. Prospero furrowed his eyebrows and quickly walked over to the door. He wanted to get away as soon as possible. The demon opened the door "Yes?" he asked in a dry voice. Behind the door stood a man, somewhat average in Prospero's opinion and a human at that. Prospero slowly started getting irritated. "Well, we were just leaving so I insist you to be quick" he added. His voice was ice cold, however the temperature of the surrounding air rose by a few degrees.

((Wow, Smart and her strict order ... I don't seem to get the point but ok >.< It looks like I should post something o_0 *lack of inspiration ...* But what to do if nobody yet found Ki >.< It'd be quite strange for him to just introduce himself to Prospero wouldn't it? >.< Great what to do ...))

Ki saw two young looking men walking out of the big house. *I shouldn't be seen hunting on someone's property, so why do the two most dangerous creatures on around need to walk out at such a marvelous time?* He quickly fled back to the wooden arbour which he found unlocked, to hide himself. In all the hurry he left part of the dead rabbit out on the grass while he ran off with the other piece hanging from his mouth. When he got in, he ran into the white curtains. Without Ki noticing the piece of carcas smeared blood all over the fabric. "This is a disaster, trapped here, 2 demons or vamires within smelling distance" Ki groaned to no-one in particularly *Who wouldn't smell the blood even from that distance* The man wasn't at ease enough to keep eating. He felt the tention create a knot in his stomach, he was getting naucious. *Just when I find my mother to be living and healthy, I screw up because I can't control my hunger* Ki slammed his head to the ground violently and repeatedly to get his mind off these things, but not even the snearing pain that shot trough his head as if it were silver bullets could keep him from hating himself. Ki felt lucky no-one were to see him like this, for the only thing staring at him was one eye of the rabbit he killed.

((I hope this enough >.< to get you guys going ...))

Cassiel gave the young man a quick glance and realised that the face is very vaguely familiar but then shook it off his mind and let Prospero deal with the kid. He was more drawn to the scent of blood nearby... and then he heard a movement. It didn't even take his vampire senses to figure out that it wasn't an animal. It was a pretty loud 'thump' against the ground and the vampire really doubted that Prospero's servants would do something like that. "I'll be right back" he said to the demon and quickly headed in the direction where he heard the noise.

(Mortem: I think you figured out his personality pretty well :] )

"No?" the blond man grimaced. No one from his family gave a damn about this stupid village and if the village administrator wanted something then he came to them. He hasn't been at a town meeting for 200 years and didn't feel like changing it. "I don't care about your imagination, human, if you thought it was otherwise then... it's your problem, farewell" with a calm gesture he moved Lucas out of his way and came outside. Prospero sat down on the steps and lit a cigarette with obvious impatience.

(kyaaa. xD up again so soon.)

Darien stopped to pull out his map, wondering if there was a blow-up image of this town. He could have sworn that he had gone by the same spot twice...had he managed to get completely lost again? Well...it wasn't much of a surprise anymore. He shuffled the pages in the small, atlas-like book a few more times before giving up and shoving the thing back into his pack. There weren't many street signs up...not that he had been paying attention enough to know where they lead. There was the bakery he had had lunch at...The smell of cigarette smoke hit Darien's nose and he looked around. A lit cigarette equals a person equals directions, right? So goes the long equations of the vampire's simple mind.

He was walking down the street to find the source of the scent when he stopped by a gate. The house behind it was beautiful and he had to wrack his brain to remember if he had noticed it before. The smell of cigarette smoke was stronger around here though, so he bravely took a quick look. There didn't seem to be any people around, but the smoke tickled his nose still. Deciding that it couldn't hurt, he called out, "Hello? Is anyone, uhm, home? Out here, something? I just need to ask a question..." If no one answered after a few minutes he'd try somewhere else.

((For Smart-chan was desperate for something to react to, I had to write this a tad early))

Ki felt someone was closing in on him. He quickly devoured the last bits of meat hoping that would be enough to erase all proof of his misbehaviour. *Nobody would like a half-demon to kill and feed itself on his territory.* He whipped of his face and got ready to defend himself to all that would be thrown at him. One hand grasped the hilt of his sword, the other was ready to grasp the intruder's throat. *If they want me dead, they will be in for a surprise* Ki thought. Adrenaline was pumping trough his veins, and luckily Ki preformed better when under pressure. He now heard the footsteps from the, clearly superhuman, being coming closer to the arbour. Ki walked back to the wall next to the doorway, placed his foot to the wall so he could launch himself forward to surprise the being if needed. *But then again, if I kill this one I at least get myself a decent meal* The person was now within 5 meter from the door, so Ki braced himself for a probably unpleasant meeting.

Cassiel stopped just before getting to the arbour. He couldn't see the intruder anywhere but judging from the environment the one place to hide at was the arbour itself. Now though was not the time to panic. "Just who DO you think you are?" he had no idea of what were the supernatural abilities of his opponent yet he wouldn't allow him to use the physical advantage; using the telekinesis Cassiel manipulated the sword out of tight grasp and soon it pierced through the glass (Prospero WILL kill him) and landed at his own feet. The white haired vampire called out challengingly "I doubt you're a servant here? Or is it a habit of servants to attack guests of this place? Time is rushing so pray, be quick" he said, his voice cool.

The LAST thing Ki expected was telekinesis so when Mortem hovered of he was shocked. He quickly charged trough the door, jumped at the vampire and pinned him to the ground, carefully laying his leg over the sword so it couldn't be used to attack him. "You should be the one to pray" He told the smaller and younger looking vampire, judging from his teeth, but then again, vampires aged less quick than half-demons. "If you're just a guest I assume you're gonna be my dinner instead of a lousy rabbit. That is if you can't explain why I shouldn't." Ki thought bluffing would be the best thing to do at such times. *He's small, looks fragile, but uses telekinesis, he might be more dangerous than he looks, but I got the advantage if we were to fight in the woods. If he overpowers me, I take off to there. I know all hiding places, roads, grounds and when not visible, I don't only have my normal senses, but I can feel his energy too.* Ki stared the vampire into his eyes. "It would be a shame to eat such a promising little vampire though, but you should at least taste well." Ki was laying on top of the smaller boy, their bodies forming an x, one of his legs over both of Cassiels. Their chests aligned and while one of Cassiels arms was underneath the boy, Ki grabbed the other one by the wrist. Ki had one hand left which he used to brush the hair out of Cassiels face so he could have a closer look on his pray. "Still awaiting an answer" Ki reminded him.

Cassiel was shaking with anger when the stronger body overpowered him. Really, even being a vampire in this fragile flesh was not easy. "Animal! Filthy beast! Even the lousy rabbit is better than you since it doesn't eat its own kin!" He all but spat in Ki's face. Of course, his voice was loud and so he hoped that sooner or later someone -namely Prospero for example- would hear. "And how dare you call me promising and little?! I've been around for 25 centuries! And you?! And I'll give you a grand reason why I shall not be your dinner tonight : because If you dare lay a finger on me you'll be dealing with others. And I'm not all that defenceless as I look" he said, the brown eyes now had none of the warmth left in them, they turned into a deep crimson colour as they stared with hatred at Ki "The master of this house will NOT be pleased to see a tramp of a demon lingering on his property" he added and the message was clear : touch me and you'll be dealing with larger trouble.

Ki smiled, somehow this guy was disarmingly cute, someone looking that fragile telling him he would get into trouble. "I won't be eating a human nor a demon, so you can't call me someone of your kin don't you think" Ki said as he let the demon's arms loos, only sitting over his torso with one leg over those of the vampire. "But you amuse me too much to make get me to eat you" Ki said with a smile. "I'm sorry that I surprised you this much, I felt threatened noticing you and the other vampire or demon on these grounds." Ki tried to use his charms as well as possible. *Telling him I was about to get myself one of the maids as dinner would probably only make things worse* Ki stood up, got Mortem back in his sheet and stretched out his hand to help the vampire up. "Ohh and by the way, you don't look like you could have been close buddies with the youngest of the pharaohs." Ki said as he tried to control his laughing about the boy's age. "Blood conserves I see" Ki jokily said to try and keep peace. "How about you show me the way to the landlord so I can properly apologise?" *Darn, why do I have to talk so much to keep me from getting in trouble?*

Prospero still didn't get any replies from the guy asking questions so he cursed under breath. Not only were there some strangers pushing onto his property but the kid who he was meant to get away with was now, together with some tramp devastating his mother's beloved arbour.
"Looooovely" he hissed through his teeth. Prospero turned around and started carefully watching the windows visible from where he was. He could have helped Cas, of course... but why? The kid had enough power to deal with it and in any case he could just call, if he didn't do it this meant that he wasn't harmed.

Cassiel was way too proud for his own good so he didn't accept the demon's hand and got onto his feet with no help. Soon enough he held the demon by the fabric of his top, and looked up in order to look right into Ki's eyes. "I have no idea what's sitting in this head of yours and I'm not sure if I want to find out but I'll tell you what;, it's going to take some more than this flattery to get me off your tail now. And the landlord will be more than happy to meet you" The white-haired vampire let go and kicked the door open (...Prospero REALLY will kill him) "Oi, handsome. You seem to have another guest! I can't guess what he may want from you though!" he called to Prospero, whom the vampire noticed, was observing the whole situation.

*Handsome uh? The two of those sure have an outstanding relationship, a demon and a vampire that, although with teasing, manage to get along ... interesting* Ki walked behind Cassiel and whispered "If it were mere flattery, I wouldn't walk with you to this Mr handsome would I?" The man saw a group of people standing at the front gate of the terrain, he assumed the landlord were the one within the walls. The other two were strange though, an other vampire of demon had joined them, together with a human. "You sure aren't picky when it comes down to friends" Ki said to no-one in particular "Vampire, demon, human ..." Ki smiled and checked again where the nearest border of the forests was, so he could, in case of trouble, flee or fight his way out. They arrived at the gate and Ki walked past Cassiel. "Hello gentlemen" He said to the tree standing near the fencing, then he focused on Prospero. *So he's the master here, let's see if he's nice. Is my mum in good hands here?* "Mister landlord I assume? I'm here to apologise for hunting on your territory, my hunger took over as I found your maids were protected by 2 superhuman beings, and that I had to resign to the feeding on the nearest creature, a rabbit." Ki bowed his head for a second of two and then looked at Cassiel. "I believe I had to properly apologise for my misbehaviour earlier. As I said before, I felt threatened and therefor I tried to disable you to fight. I luckily came to my senses early enough." Ki paused "Before harm was done I meant." *Although he doesn't look as old as a mummy, he certainly looks as fragile as one* Then Ki had a sneak look around the group, the human was looking like he felt uneasy in the company of ruthless killers. The Landlord and the vampire he met earlier were not interesting at the moment, because his eyes were caught by the vampire in the back row, Darien. "I may not be good at estimating a vampire's age ..." Ki said as he glared at the elder behind him "But I'd still say we'd have to move this conversation inside within 5 minutes unless anyone would want to roast the fledgling" Ki said with a bitter tone in his voice. He didn't care about the boy that much, he looked like he would taste nice though. *I just don't want the sun to take this candy already, I'd love to get a taste of him before hands* Then he turned back to Prospero. "The elder told me you are very hospitable towards your guests so don't leave him out to burn."

Ki followed the others wondering what this group was up to, they didn't seem to know each other, or at least not well according to the humans words. *This is getting stranger and stranger* Ki thought. Then he walked up to the fledgling. "Too bad" He whispered to Darien who was walking behind Prospero and Cassiel. "I'm wondering what the little human would look like if I didn't say anything and you started to vaporise, it would have been funny though." He glanced at Darien's eyes. "He'd probably just have a stroke, which would have eliminated 2 already." Ki now hummed to himself. Ki waved his long blond hair from his face as he laid his gloved hand on Cassiels shoulder. "What whole thing was it you were talking about deary?" he asked the elder. "And I doubt the human would be a good snack, he's skinny and pale, no flesh to the bones, I prefer you two vampires." He sniggered. "Although you've been dead for so long you probably won't taste fresh anymore, bloody shame ..." Darien had an utterly confused look on. "Uhm...excuse me?" he asked, raising his hand. "I have nooo clue what you guys are talking about. Journey? Coat?...Vaporising? What?" Well....at least now he knew what he was dealing with. Vampires, a demon, and at the back of the group was a human. "I just...wanted directions?" Well...but these people were talking about a journey...and they were already considering taking him with? That might be more fun than wandering around aimlessly, and then at least that way he wouldn't have to worry about getting lost, if he didn't need to worrying about maps and the such...
