So now we find out how Sayoko and Hajime first came to meet and a little bit of Sayoko's character. Not a bad episode, I actually enjoyed it a bit and found it funny especially the racing part. Oh, Nakajima from "You're Under Arrest" makes a cameo appearrance. I also noticed that Tenma and Harima from "School Rumble" made a brief cameo appearance as well. =D

Lots of references indeed. I'll continue to watch I guess since I love the direction (by ef's director) and it seems to be less random than School Rumble for now. Still, narration is a bit complex, I have a hard time figuring out how everything works for the moment but I guess it will be clearer soon.

I'm having the same problems as Jacut with storytelling. But I'm a sucker for Shaft, and this is so short that I'll be sticking around.

Well, I'm seconding the narration. That was a touch on the odd side. I'll stick this out for now, this episode was far better than the last. Still, I must admit this is rather weird. I'm remaining hopeful that it's all explained.

Finally we get to know how Arashi and Hajime met.

But that animation style bugs me 8< And this is weird.

Love Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei and School Rumble reference.

Me not understand more things.......
What time is that town to where Sayoko go to with Hajime?
What misfortune of her family?
What was condition for Hajime to connect to Sayoko...part of her family or something like that?
Many questions. Me liked Hajime's double quick to big army detective. Me like also secret treasure and Kan-chan promise.

I think OP=sensual a little. Me not understand how ghost have time travel.....only understand is paranormal.

wow big improvement over the first episode which was quite dull, i find this to have an interesting story, a unique twist on the whole timetraveling idea aswell as it made me laugh quite a bit. The animation style is odd but i like it, the chracters have an old style to them but the backdrops look great and the animation quality is pretty good. The characters are quite interesting aswell. I thought originally that i would possibly drop this series but this episode made me want to continue.

It was a lot SHAFTier than the last episode, which is good. But I can't seem to get myself to like the way the background-layers shift around, that looks weird... but not in a good SHAFT-sense. :(

Agreed! Awesome SHAFT-greatness shone through this time by a far bigger amount.

But I also liked everything else about this episode. There even seems to be a story behind all this, which is not that common in several shows like this. That would be most awesome to have a good story for a change. The race joke was also really good.

OP is another plus. Actually it's hard to think about something negative for now. Maybe the overuse of real photos ...

This should be first episode and i don't know why wasn't, because it was far better than previous ep. Maybe won't be that bad as i thought after all.

Probably because they're working their way around the story, notice how Hajime talks in past tense whenever he narrates at the beginning of the show. So I'm guessing. Kinda like how Ga-Rei Zero was done, first episode and then 2nd episode goes further back into a flash back and near the end of the series it goes back to continuing where the first episode had left off..

This episode was much better than the first. It's kind of a shame how a lot of people already declared their hatred for the series and decided to drop it after only watching the first episode.

Oh and I love how they had Harima and Tenma in the cafe ^^

yea i hate when people do this, it's the reason why i watch 3 episodes usually even if i really hate the show. Cause i was originally thinking i would drop this but the 2nd ep has made me want to watch the whole thing.

This SHOULD have been episode 1, since it actually follows the manga, makes sense, and isn't utter garbage. Real boneheaded decision there SHAFT. Hopefully, this means that the story (yes, there is one) will kick into gear and we won't waste anymore time on ridiculous filler.

so this explains where most of the characters meet up, so i wonder if she really is a ghost? or for that matter, why she has a reaction to him?

There was a Sayonara Sensei reference? Damn, I seem to miss all of those references (nearly missed the School Rumble one too). Do you care to elaborate on where exactly the reference is? I might have to re-watch the episode. ^^

All in all the ep has a bit more story than the first (maybe they should've aired this ep first); might continue watching this if the next ep is okay. I usually include at least one "weird" or random anime per season, and this seems to be the perfect choice :)

Harima and Tsukamoto ^_^ Funny references, but meh show so far. I usually drop anime after 2 episodes if it's bad, but I can't really decide about this one. It's quite contradictory...

I had to go back and watch again after seeing I missed Harima and Tenma in the cafe. I guess I'm not being that observant. I guess the overuse of parallax threw me off from wanting to observe too closely. But I still like the photography direction overall.

Oh, Akiyuki Shinbo. Your weird directing style never fails.

Anyways, great episode. I actually prefer this being episode 2 since the random story is an interesting way to ensnare curious viewers who want to find out what the hell is going on. That way, by the time they watch episode 2, the viewers can decide by then whether or not they will stick with it.

I actually kind of like the animation because its just so weird, it's interesting. I'm not too sure about the storyline though. I don't understand it, but hopefully it'll eventually be explained. I really liked the race scene too. I so wasn't expecting her to get a cop to pull him over. I chuckled a bit seeing even the bike and skateboard pass him after he started out so quick.

Sadly i like more that con artist and muscle man than both main protagonists.THAT BOY LOOKS TOO MUCH CONAN!
That "race" was hilarious!

ps. Loved Harima&Tenma and Zetsubou-sensei painting xD.
