Nice episode discussion...

Yay for more Sieglinde screentime, loved her comment about Kazuki's hair style.

Not sure if it was a smart move by Jin to return Gio, but we'll see.

I watch only the Shinsen releases ^^". But I read the comments on Random Curiosity. It looks the episode is much better than the 7 which sucks.

Kazuki acts more like an asshole every episode. He's nearly as annoying as Kururugi Suzaku.

This ep was better then the others in my opinion. I wonder how that other Dragon is related to Jin. She like had a flash back when Jin yelled out he just wanted Toe of someone being rushed into the hospital section...I'm guessing it was Jin after the plane crash.

I dont think she's related to Jin at all, but his calling out for wanting to see Toa made her recall the hospital scene. I'd say that since her name is Widow, and she has no rider or whatever, that it was probably her rider in that scene and he died.

Agreed, she was reflecting on the similarities of a similar emotional moment. I watch the sub of whomever releases it first, as long as it apperars to be at least halfway decent. We are finally getting deeper into Toa's reasoning for...quite a few things. A few things are, the name Toa, why she feels compelled to be with Jin, why she feels that she cannot be with Jin, as well as quite a few other things. I'm enjoying this series, though the pacing is admittedly kind of slow.

Kazuki makes me laugh every time he's on screen...'cause he's an idiot. Gio gets points for saying he's "not an object" I was kinda liking the trio of Jin, Gio, and Toa though.

I have a feeling that the plot is going to end up being really predictable.

No points for guessing right Icephoenix.

It was pretty obvious from the first episode that Toa was the one responsible for the shuttle accident.

I would have liked this episode more if Jin actually punched Kazuki repeatedly when Kazuki made the comment about "having something precious taken from you". Any normal person in Jin's situation would have broken several of Kazuki's bones for that. The writers could have at least given Jin some cajones, and had Jin respond by asking "Do you know what it feels like to lose everything?"

But then again, I doubt many people are watching this for a serious plot :D

Ican't remember the last time I saw women as top heavy as that in anime.
What a day! What a lovely Day!

ahh ok, I wasn't sure if that was the case or if she actually knew him.

@Archaeon - I agree, the part where Kazuki said something about "having something precious taken from you" I was expecting Jin to say "Have you ever had your family killed in front of yours eyes and then be blamed for it?!" and then punch him or at least make Kazuki's expression change and reflect on what he's said. That part kind of pissed me off allot. From the start I've been saying that Kazuki bitches about things he has no clue about.

I could really get into this anime if they'd just let Toa, Jin and Gio be a group. I really didn't like Jin agreeing to have Gio go back to Kazuki in exchange for Toa. Their friendship is more interesting to me than Jin's mysterious "love at first sight" bond with Toa. When Toa left them, I sort of felt like, "What, they're going to be looking for her AGAIN?" And now, who knows what will happen. I'm not into watching a bunch of eps where they each go their own ways and feel miserable, and Jin just with Toa is too boring and predictable. Gio's presence makes things better.

i have to say that this is the first big turning point of the anime. one big controversy faced between once best friends and now part of toa reason for being with jin is revealed. so the question is why does she or even think that she would have a chance of being even liked by a guy who's family she killed.

i was starting to lose hope for this series but it seriously made a massive comeback with this one episode.

Well, Toa didn't intentionally kill his family, right? It was just a collision...

Finally, something's happening in this anime. It seems to me like nothing really happened in the previous 7 episodes, and that they're finally getting on with the story.
Hopefully they'll keep it up.

True. The other thing to remember is that Toa promised to bring them all back. Was she talking about the other dragons, Jin's family and the other shuttle victims, or both?

I have to agree with Dorothea that th Gio-Jin relationship is a lot more interesting than the Gio-Toa or the Jin-Toa one.

One thing that DOES confuse me (and I do hope they explain it as I can't figure it out). Gio actualized for Jin, and Widow actualized for Kazuki. Wouldn't this suggest that the whole "resonance" thing is just a method of controlling the dragons more than anything else?

Also, I hope Kazuki gets an ass-whuppin from Jin, or better yet, Gio. That whole flashback scene of his, when he was asking Jin if he was reallyleaving. I just kept thinking "You selfish piece of sh*t". As the show goes, Kazuki reminds me more and more of Ikari Shinji from NGE, or Makoto from School Days.

The queue to punch Kazuki in the face starts here.....

I think Toe already mentioned that all the dragons have their own free will they just don't know it yet or can't fathom it yet. The whole Resonance is still unclear though. It could be that the resonance is just a way for the Dragon to determine who would better understand them when they hatch. Which leads to the question of why did Gio pick Kazuki.

Toe picked Jin because she needs to "populate" with him :P j/k.

..and about the above part "Who does toe need to bring back, the Dragons or the people that where in the plane crash?". I think its safe to say that everyone that was in the ship died. We all saw it plain as day. So shes bringing back the Dragons and possibly their partners (the ones they did resonance with).

I don't think that Toa's mission can be bringing the people back to life... I just don't see a dragon having that kind of power, and I think her mission is something she was entrusted before she came to earth (and therefore, before she killed them to begin with). When she said she'd bring them back, somehow I got the impression that they were going to leave earth again and return to somewhere else, and she was referring to all the dragons. Not that I have much basis for that guess, it was just the first thing that came to mind.

And for the record...I don't much like Kazuki, but his hair doesn't look that bad... It's not like he shaved his head or something. If he weren't such a tard, I'd say he was cute. Also, I wouldn't be too surprised if Kazuki and Jin reconcile towards the end, followed shortly by Kazuki's death. Doesn't that seem likely in the anime realm?

I bet the resonance will never make perfect sense, even after all the eps are out....

Seriously, this episode sucked. It's Musical Dragons! One second someone has Toa, then another someone else does! Then someone else!
Let's see how much more predictable this show can get!

My post from last week:

Seriously, everytime we see Jin and Toa, its like:
Jin: "Toa"
Toa: "Jin"
Jin: "Toa...."
Toa: "Jin, we can't be together..."
Jin: "That's not true. You don't make me lonely anymore."

I saw much of the same this week.

The "plot-twist" was lame. The show was lame. Kazuki is lame. There is no plot to this show whatsoever.

Lol That was pretty good, but I always felt Kazuki's man crush went more to Jin, and the reason he's flipping out is everybody else is getting closer to Jin, and he just seems to be getting farther away. And the fact that Gio was suppose to be his dragon just drives the knife home. So now he's just lashing out at Jin. If I can't have him, I'll hurt him!

Dorothea said:

And I have to agree, if he's rational and knows it's an accident, then he can come to accept it. And Toa will become his new family. However if they go the other route, I'm afraid it will put the last nail in the coffin and it can officially be labeled a wannabe overly dramatic series. I love you, but I hate you!

really... this episode had more plot that the last episodes together... i seriously hope the anime gets better, at least there is some plot and explanations now...

the way Toa got her name was something i never expected... To A... i guess it does make sense, but its just too bizarre.

also the reason for Toa being on earth is finally shown, but not explained.

i was seriously thinking... "gay, or not gay" when kazuki asked jin to select from Toa or Gio...

well, kazuki's hair made me laugh once more, and the episode needed more Sieglinde...

In retrospect, that was foreshadowed by Gio getting his name from "G-10". Or, more specifically, from Kazuki's name for him.
Avatar character is Gabriel from Gabriel DropOut.
