Keirou is such a contradictory asshole. His story was sad and all but the whole point of being close to the Emperor to force him into submission was gay as hell. If Keirou wanted to change the way shit was done he could have simply helped out the current emperor make the land a better place to live. There's literally no point in Keirou becoming emperor. If anything his current actions have made the people suffer just as his own village suffered. Hell he's killed people that have nothing to do with anything, they where just normal citizens. Keirou needs to die in the end thats all there is to it.

Despite his past, Keirou is not a good person. End of story.
But I can understand why he chose to not help the emperor. Although the emperor is trying to change *now*, he has always been a puppet. The empire is basically ruled by his "counselors". It is much easier to just dethrone him than cooperate with him and bypass all the annoying and greedy counselors.

Also, Keirou had absolutely no need to tell Taito the sob story... It would have been enough if it was the fat guy (what was his name again?) telling it to Ryuuko.

Are you kidding me? Dethroning any ruler causes problems for the people. Keirou could have easily put the council in their place and communicate with the emperor more. Hell it took Tito 1 episode to change the emperor just imagine what Keirou could have done.

Taito should just accept being the emperor. He is the older twin afterall, so the throne is rightfully his and he can change the world as he wants. Even the heaven acknowledge him up until now that is.

Kiero's tragic backstory reminded me a lot of the tragic backstory of the antagonist from Fushigi Yugi - an incredibly tragic backstory shoved in via flashback to make the character sympathetic in the wake of their murder, gaslighting, and attempted rape throughout the course of the series. It didn't work then, and it doesn't work here.
