Jackal Tojo is pretty damn confident. Poor Sakura though ;.; I'm somewhat surprised they are going to fight rather than buildup but hey at least, she's getting a chance.

I was heavily impressed with this episode, it swapped things around from the manga, added new things and it all worked out very good which made everything fit perfectly!

In the manga they did the Rookie All-Stars event first and then had Misaki break her ankle second but they didn't even show the match, only showing Misaki on a stretcher.

But in here, they actually show the match where Misaki got injured and used the Rookie fight event to decide a replacement. That is cool!

On a side note, poor Suzumoto.... :( They give her a great new look where in the manga she wore a leotard and she gets easily beat by Blue Panther, also if I had to guess her identity I would have to guess it to be Kanae Fujishita the reporter. She WAS a former wrestler after all so maybe she is using this as a way to get back into it secretly.

Is there a possiblity that Blue Panther is Elena?
There is none, right? I mean, I would like it to be Elena, but it's not going to be from the looks of it.

Sweto Diva winning awards.
Sakura winning matches.

Jackal is really bad ass, no surprise she's the world champ, looking forward to the match between her and Sakura next week.

Blue Panther is not Elena, and somehow in the manga I think Blue panther is working with Jackal somehow. Next episode Sakura is about to get steam rolled by Jackal

I'm with you for the most part. To add to what you like, I like the part where it shows a history between Jackal and Misaki that Misaki was in Sakura's boots once. She as a former diva too suffered many losses and all it took was a spar from the champ to reignite her fighting spirit and Misaki eventually became a champion like her mentor. I find it interesting that Misaki can relate to her in so many ways and Sakura can surely go far.

I'm also glad that Sakura is winning matches now, maybe enough to make up for her numerous losses on her record. Though I fear that Sakura may not last long against a world champion like Jackal.

Hoping the best for her! :)

I did like that too, but I didn't mention it since it was in the manga too and before the ankle breaking and the rookie fight, but I had no idea that Misaki had raked just as many losses as Sakura did so now everyone can no longer say ANYTHING about Sakura's 65 loss record anymore since Misaki had just as many.

I will say that Jackel DOES put the major hurt on Sakura, but she manages to hold out very well. I am still waiting on Moe though!

Yes! Definitely! And I feel that because of that Misaki and Sakura could be potential allies someday, also Suzumoto too I suppose.

I think though there's a reason why Jackal chose to fight Sakura and we'll just have to find out next week.

Considering that there is a pic on the official site where Sakura is being put into an Abdominal Stretch by Kurea and Misaki being put into an Octopus Stretch by Rio, I wouldn't be surprised if Sakura and Misaki would be paired together as allies. But of course Suzumoto would also be an ally since she is Sakura's friend and Moe would also be an ally as well.

Well I think the reason is that Jackel sees both Misaki and herself in Sakura since she saw images of herself and her when she looked at her, thinking that Sakura would one day be just as good, if not better, as both of them.

Hmm, that's a good thing to know. I remembered a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson that said, "Every artist was first an amateur." I believe the same can be said for fighters. Champions like Misaki and Jackal had to start off as amateurs before working their way to the top.

This anime just keeps getting better. The excitement's really rising, even if the plot points are pretty predictable. The simple story's not really a downside though - there's not really many plot twists you can add into a wrestling anime anyway. If anything, I'd just say it's down to how the story is told right now, and I can definitely see it improving in that respect. Too bad Misaki had to take the mentor injury cliché straight to the ankle, though.

Part of why I enjoy this show so much (besides the girls moaning in 'agony' and oppai bouncing everywhere) is seeing anime versions of the odd sports soap operas I enjoy so much. It's interesting with its weird kayfabe interpretations of where rivalries come from. And I loved the Vader Bomb this episode, lol. Yay for random wrestling moves! I'm trying to figure out if Berserk equates to a stable or to a federation in American terms.

The world's champ is gorgeous and naturally chooses our girl Sakura to take the place of her injured mentor. So it's the student's student versus the mentor's mentor. I kinda wish she had joined Sweet Diva for the pre-event concert. I mean, Jericho performs with Fozzy, why can't she at least do a guest duet when they're involved in the same event? The ED dance just looked kinda wrong without Sakura-chan there. I kinda hope she winds up doing both at the end, playing with Sweet Diva while continuing her rasslin career.

Why can't American wrestling girls be this talented? :P

Yeah for the finale of the series, as I said before in one of the discussions, I REALLY hope that at the end the rest of Sweet Diva joins Sakura in on the wrestling career while still doing some idol stuff. I REALLY want to see Elena, Nanami, Yuho, and Aika in sexy wrestling outfits and train with Sakura.

As for the American wrestling girls, it's because they are only about sex appeal and not about wrestling when it is scripted nowadays which is disgraceful. If you want to see real female wrestling talent in the real world, watch Japanese female wrestling. They have both beauty AND talent as wrestlers, and I recommend watching Manami Toyota's matches first who is the all time best female wrestler on the planet who has been wrestling since her debut in 1987.

I'm guessing Blue Panther is Misaki. Misaki's ankle injury was too random and so nonsensical even by anime standard.

From what I see, Pro-wrestling is scripted in both US and Japan. Only in anime, they fight for real. Which is a shame, because I would be interested in Pro-wrestling if they're not scripted.

No, it's not her. I know this to be a fact, and Misaki would never hurt someone like that, ever. And her injury is very real.

They actually got a real pro-wrestler to voice herself in the anime!! And indeed she looks just like herself in the anime!

So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

It was surprising to see an animated Yoshiko. It's cool that they got Yoshiko to voice her animated self.

The World Champion is gorgeous as all hell. Misaki's probably either going to lose, or she's the one with the broken leg ;___;

And then Sakura will have to train and beat the Champion.

What did I say last ep?! Well, it was predictable anyways.

The way Misaki slipped and fractured her ankle was disappointing. Seeing her in pain made me super sad though ;______;

I really really hope Sakura doesn't win. But wouldn't be surprised if she ends up defeating Jackal in one episode, which would be horrifyingly disappointing.

When Blue Panther showed up, I went "Oh, look! It's the Sweet Divas manager lady!" Wonder who it is though.

Misaki x Jackal otp.

You honestly think that Sakura would beat Jackal, the World Champion in wrestling, in one go? I think the outcome is obvious here, but it's still a great match to see.

No. By one episode, I meant over the course of the remaining episodes, wherein, say she defeats her in the last one.

Seems weird that we're only just now seeing actual injuries. Also, Blue Panther seems way too powerful. Either that or that girl she was fighting wasn't as good as people thought she was. Huh.

Guess there's no such thing as insurance in this wrestling world; immediately going bankrupt just due to one injury.

Know it isn't likely, but would be nice if for once if a masked stranger shows up they just get thoroughly beaten. Is Blue Panther really a rookie?
