THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Wow, I can't believe that no one has made a discussion about this anime... I thought it was kind of popular among the yaoi circles and it also quite old...! Anyway, I liked this first episode. The scenery was interesting and different from what we are used to see. Animation is so-so, it's not bad but it's not something special either. Characters have me divided, at times I find them interesting at times quite flat and predictable... But as a whole, it's rather enjoyable. And very true to its purpose, to show the forbidden love of two people in a time that they weren't even supposed to talk. Off to the next ep now! ^_^

I liked it. The music was nice, haunting.
And I agree, a forbidden love in a time
like that is all the more interesting.
The protagonist, Touma, seems a bit
too immature for my taste. But I hope
that' s just how he was in the past.

First episode was alright. The chemistry and foundation of Touma and Keiichirou was the more interesting feature of course. Not sure if it's just my usual "not interested in war stories" stance but at least the core behind Japan and it's foreign policy was easy enough to understand.

Its a pretty basic forbidden love story but I'll give it props, it had a lot of points where it could've jumped the gun and had them make out or whatever.

Not sure if this'll really go anywhere or whatever but lets hope.

An open field by a river is the “secret place?” Doesn't eem that secret to me lmao

Wish I knew a little more about Japanese history of this time, because this can be a little hard to follow at parts, but it's not too confusing. A bit of googling and the subs on youtube I found are helpful.

I like how the romance is developing!

An accurate historical plot in my yaoi? With sensible leads and intelligent writing? What in the holy hell

watching, waiting, commiserating
