The cat's out of the bag, lol. Ken is Nobunaga! To be exact, he is Nobunaga's reincarnation! How else can you explain did he figure out what his lord exactly wanted, and not just in this instance but in many other prior occasions? "History" should definitely give him a viable clue, otherwise I think I'm giving him too much credit than he actually deserves.

Somehow, this series is only recounting history through Ken's culinary expertise and pretty much nothing else. Took me about 3 volumes to realize just that. And not that I'm disappointed about it or anything, but it seriously is becoming a tad bit predictable and patronizing. This series has been obnoxiously spoon-feeding me for as long as I can remember and it really is starting to annoy me that I can't even speculate properly on what truly is the big picture which I should be looking at or looking for in this series!

How about integrating a bit more of 'who the hell are you (Ken), really' rather than emphasizing on the given/obvious? Ken is a genius chef who has an extensive knowledge of things involving his craft, who also happens to resemble Nobunaga in a number of ways. Is that all he'd ever amount to? Ofc NOT! The author should ought to know better to keep the mystery afloat and keep his main character as the main point of interest. At least give us with something new to go on from time to time! The way things have been going, it feels like I'm about to forget that Ken doesn't even belong from this era to begin with.
HAPPY SCANS!

Such a harsh judge. :)
Well, it's not disappointing me, but I'm not looking at it the same way.
Ken does know a lot and can figure out things at times which seem like he has knowledge way beyond what even a top chef would know. It would be interesting to have hiim remember more things and it would be interesting to have him meet up with the others from his time period or change something historically which he has not tried to do. But other than thinking those things would happen, I've just been enjoying watching history through his eyes when he knows what is going to happen put an interesting twist on it for me. It's not all that predictable to me since my specialty is medieval European history not Japanese so if it was set with King John vs King Richard say, then yes then I would know the history by heart and in that case I would be all nitpicky and critical about historical points etc but since it's not that -
I'm just enjoying this. :)
To me it's more about Ken's ability to analyze people than about him being like Nobunaga - I see it as Ken "reading" Nobunaga not "being" him, but you could well be right that he is a reincarnation of him or has some genetic link to him which would be pretty interesting in itself.
But I'm satisfied with the meal as presented.
