I don't know, I think that was a damn good episode. I was going to drop this show, because I thought it was just about this nine year old girl blowing stuff up. But, I was surprised by her monologue there. I mean she should have done something sooner, and she realized it. Sorry, but I got to disagree with you here.

Good episode. Funny about the father asking if she wanted to take a bath with him and being disappointed when she said no xD. Then again that's typical to do that around that age so...

But yes I did notice his scars...bit peculiar.

Thanks for the heads up. I'd still keep at it unless it got really annoying, just for the music, sound and visual effects, 13 episodes isn't much.

3 out of 5. I was disappointed.
This tree appears out of nowhere and then disappears as soon as it came. There was no real loss, at least not one I could see. There was no fight scene.
I hear this anime gets much more intense/ mature later on, in which case I think this should have come later in the series. It would have been really sad if one or both of those kids were seriously injured and almost died/actually did... well, I shouldn't need to say it.
Long story short, dead plot. Disappointed. Can't wait until it kicks up a bit.

Well the least I can say is, Nanoha is committed to give everything she has to help and not cause other trouble. I don't how much shoujo power (parallel to shounen power i.e. lots of hot blooded shouting, will power, guts and determination) she has but you can't save everyone Nanoha. Oh wait I'm preaching to an anime character with tons of potential magical power. LOL
You see there's no need to wonder where your god is,

This is the first episode which I felt kind of meh, though Nanoha's new powers look cool, the Monster of Week is a tree..... not a Tree which attacks you, nope just a really big tree, talk about disappointing and anti climatic. I really hope the fights get better than this, I forgave the earlier fights as the series just started out but now I expect some decent fights and this definitely wasn't.

Well, I suppose it's better than the first two but it's still really poor. Honestly, the episode pissed me off right from the get-go by having narrator Nanoha introduce herself as Nanoha Takamachi to us three times within the first five minutes. Who the hell needs a refresher on the main characters (also, the only one of two that received any kind of development), three episodes into the series & a minute after we were already told. It's just downright insulting.

As for the rest of the episode, it still wasn't enjoyable for me. The plot this episode was kinda paint by numbers & I know what they were doing but the conclusion to the MOTW just wasn't entertaining. It's fine that they're building up the power/potential of Nanoha but they didn't do it in a way that was very compelling to me. Also, this is a very minor nitpick but giving your best=giving it your all, Nanoha.

All that said, I'm still looking forward to the next installment. If only because I've heard people saying it starts to get going around episode 4.

Haha I love how the ferret got flustered. Kind of forgotten he's actually a boy. I also find it funny that a gigantic tree...well...it was just there. It just grew, then nothing.

Unfortunately they decided to call it "soccer" in Japan. (Well, "sakkaa" to be more exact.)

Could someone please provide me a decent answer to that before I drop the series?

I hope this soul energy replenishes.. Don't want for Nanoha to run out of life or anything by using magic..
Just what this family doesn't do, really.. One sport, another, cafe..
Nanoha might be growing, hm..
I wonder, if people died.. With these destructions.. It could have been the case, just we didn't want to make it so dark.. At least not now.. Poor Nanoha..

There was still cake on the plates. And some drink in the glasses.

Why would you leave without finishing your cake and drink?!

And Nanoha is as sleep-deprived as if she had a straight week of all-nighters.
Those jewel seeds can't be that important that you have to collect them asap. If she goes on like that on top of her school and cram school, she will have a burnout at the age of 9.

And we barely know anything about them so far. The things that got posessed by them, for whatever reasons, simply disappeared after they got captured. Did they turn into the jewel seeds?
But the humans did not.

They said they could make your wishes come true, I guess it was the soccer match for the boy in this case, but they can also go critical and "kill" you. Sounds dangerous to me.

Then we get huge trees in the middle of town that destroy all the streets around it. Afterwards the town is in ruins. What will the police say to this supernatural phenomenon? And what about the civilians?

And why does Nanoha father have so many scars? o.O

So many questions, so few answers...

P.S. They said the jewel seeds were scattered all over the "world". How convenient that the world only consists of japan, and even more specifically the area where the MC lives.

Well, she is shown more or less naked whenever they use the long transformation sequence.

I don't know why, but this seems to be common for "magical girl" anime.

This moment was very clearly sexual in a way that magical girl transformation sequences generally aren't, though. Like, Mami's transformation sequence in Madoka is fairly fanservicey, but I don't think I'd say the same for Sailor Moon or Heartcatch Precure. Especially not Precure, where the girls wear gowns during the transformation.

So the most popular character in this franchise will start her role in the next episode (she is the quiet girl in Nanoha's class I believe). And this anime is already better than my expectation so far ...

Nanoha's sad because "she made things worse", but she actually made the other girl and the boy closer to each other, so in fact she made things better, lol.

Does the city even noticed a giant tree pop out of nowhere, that's gotta produce at least a dozen car crashes.
Nanoha is too hard on herself, but maybe she wouldn't be a magical girl if she didn't.

Yuuno loving all the attention he gets from Nanoha’s friends & family.

Yuuno’s reaction when she just started changing in front of him.

It’s amazing how much damage one little jewel seed can do.
I have ADD, ADHD & AUTISM, but this won't stop me. Let's keep having fun together.
