| I'm already loving this so far! The character development seems to go a little fast (especially when it comes to the relationship between Nomiya & Kiyoharu) but I don't think that that's a negative thing. It just feels differently paced than Inoue's usual work to me. But the cast is presented in such a strong manner; the characterization is seemingly perfect that means I feel as though I had an immediate grasp on their personalities at the beginning & could therefore move much faster forward plotwise. So although I'd usually complain that things are going too fast and there would need to be more character & relationship building; in this rare case the characters and the way in which their thoughts are presented are handled so well that it feels satisfying and not lacking in that department at all. I also didn't mind the skipped parts ( like the ending/rest of the gym match a few chapters prior was omitted) since I felt that the skips were set at the right time and Inoue-sensei didn't leave anything essential out. (I could actually see him do a flashback to the match later on but also wouldn't mind if there was none) Since I finished reading Slam Dunk today; this strikes me as even more amazing & admirable since I can see the huge development in Inoue-sensei's writing skills (the art obviously too). That makes me appreciate even the smallest things even more! I'm looking forward to the next match! |
| They've won a lot of money and they set their objective to getting driver's licenses together so they can be of help to the women in their life. They're definitely on the road to redemption and it's thanks to both of their efforts by playing together. They won't be milking money out of their cash cow b-ballers as easily as they did though since they've invited a particularly intimidating player that has the same machine legs as Kiyo. Hisanobu's never gonna walk again so he's definitely going to join the team eventually. It's sad that people had to go through these kinds of experience to be humbled but I hope that he realizes his situation and try his best to ascend from it. |
