Haha, way to help each other out in the end.

Anyway, some of that cheesy no-self-confidence stuff. But not so bad.

It was okay. Hopefully more action next episode. That's why I started watching in the first place.

I liked it, more character development, and brought an awesome sniper character into the story. Although, quite ecchi on this episode. :\

ugh so much loli ecchi... but the character introductions/development was ok. Then again I already had a handy chart that explained them all already. Maybe I'll post it.

I don't know why anyone would watch this show for anything other than cute girls with no pants on. Except maybe the guns, because the guns are pretty nice.

I like the character development, even though it's a little generic. I'm basically watching for the cute girls.

To be frank, I put all those pantless service stuff last. Ever since Sky Girls, I had a fascination with lolis flying in the air and I'm enjoying Strike Wicthes's story so far. Pretty heartwarming.

<--- is in the small ratio of audience who enjoy this show not because of service

Oh God sexual harassment.

There's some definite yuri/shoujo-ai/whatever going on in this show.

There's some definite fanservice to this show.
Personally I find the lack of pants more enticing than than the girl on girl love.

Err..I dunno that I would consider the fanservice the only reason for watching, but it does add to their overall attractiveness. Though it can sort of feel weird sometimes because your mind can't find a decent explanation as to why they wouldn't be wearing any pants.
Military people don't wear such showy uniform.

Usually I just notice that it's cute, but every once in a while I can't help but notice how nonsensical their clothes are.

Also, lol. She's asked several times about joining and it's all so nice and welcoming as expected, and then during training she's basically told she's not good enough and to leave out of mostly jealousy. Talk about mixed messages.

Then again, she did say "she's not improving".
Only to do well in the next episode. This was definitely not about her this time, but her new friend getting picked back up and motivated.

How much longer is main character gonna stay rookie?
I guess for most of the series in a way, just like Uzumaki Naruto from Naruto is the prodigy kid yet still behind everyone else in multiple ways and will always be the "rookie". It's a common thing to do, you wouldn't feel for the main character as much if they were all of a sudden not flawed. It's a common theme, somehow I keep forgetting that.

I'll be happy when the time comes that she gets less criticism and does more right, though. Surely this rookie thing will fade a little, and hopefully soon.

Old avatar and sig retired for now.

Personnaly if the echiness was left out and more fighting would occur it would be cooler but of course echiness was a lot more. I was lot more like WTF when Luchille grabs the beasts just like that! I think she may have a libido problem? Lynette is fine thought her last name makes sense coming a British Empire thought I like a lot more Istvark for Russian and one from Liberia which might actually be Libya in real life but not sure. I am also sure that Perrine and Gallia has to with France. Luchille also might have to do with Italy. ANY THOUGHTS ON THAT TO SEE HOW AUTHOR MAKES FUN OF THIS???? Also if anyone wants to know something interesting that Neuroi copied a V1 or V2 type rocket blueprinted model and customized it, since it has a amazing AI, to have incredible speed. In other words they might be getting smarter to get against the Strike Witches. Also the situation of yuri and no guy thing might have to do with a similar environment like in My-Hime Otome thought the storyline has nothing with this anime.

It was a shame Sanya had used up all her magic so that we didn't get to see her in action! But we still got a scene of her sleeping in the classroom.
This was a pretty good episode overall though, good job on taking down the Neuroi Lynne!

I actually enjoyed the episode. It isn't the best quality stuff out there, but it is a good show in that it is fun.

The funny thing is, the historical Bishop to which she is based on was a total bad ass.

You can kind of these series as huge magical parody of WW2.

The girls (besides the Japanese ones) are named directly after famous Ace Pilots of WW2

The girls use machine guns and pistols from WW2

The girls' various striker units are modeled after airplanes the pilots actually flew.

Erica Hartmann is based off Erich Hartman AKA The Blond Knight is the highest scoring fighter ace of all history. Which is alluded to by Erica being the highest scoring witch.
Gertrud Barkhorn (based is off of Gerhard Barkhorn) is the second in the show and in real life.

Iri posted a nice chart that showed everything pretty nicely.

Also a little side note- The Cat/Dog/Rabbit ears & tails represent an aspect of their personality.

Yoshika Miyafuji has the features of a Mame-Shiba making her very friendly

Mio Sakamoto has the features of a Doberman making her a great disciplinarian

Minna-Dietlinde Wilcke has the features of a wolf which alludes to her namesake Wolf-Deitrich Wilcke.

Lynnette Bishop has the features of a Scottish Fold which look timid and shy.

Perrine-H. Clostermann gains the features of a Chartreux

Erica Hartmann gains the features of a Dachshund

Gertrud Barkhorn gains the features of a German Wirehaired Pointer

Francesca Lucchini gains the features of a Black Panther

Charlotte E. Yeager has rabbit ears like a speedy Hare because of her obsession with speed. Chuck Yeager was the first man to break the sound barrier.

Eila Ilmatar Juutilainen gains the features of a Black Fox because of her mischievous nature.

Sanya V. Litvyak gains the features of a Black Cat because of her nocturnal nature.

Perrine-H. Clostermann gains the features of a Chartreux COOL

Charlotte E. Yeager has rabbit ears like a speedy Hare because of her obsession with speed. Chuck Yeager was the first man to break the sound barrier. COOL AND I DID NOT NOTICE THAT.

Still liking this series so far. Action, ecchi, and yuri all in one, I love it! Another orange-haired girl who goes by the name of Shirley (also in Code Geass)? What's so special about it? She's hawt though. EDIT: It's actually Charlie, not Shirley.

No pants only makes this anime better. =D

I will agreed with you but also it's true that it is insulting but then again many people were insulting to Japan and still are. WHY? Because no one understands them even if they think they do better think twice.

Yeah the only issue I had was taking the character based on a Canadian pilot and giving her to Britain. Return Lynette to Canada damn it :).

Was a bit thrown at first with almost no girls wearing any pants. But you start getting used to it after a while. Serious shortage of clothing it seems. Guys got first pick and almost nothing was left over.

Not that I don't mind the crotch shots, its just a little difficult to focus on the story when their ass is in your face.

But...it doesn't seem that bad for now, so I guess I'll continue

Basically a set up episode so it was a good one. The problem is that so many characters in here so I have to remember some of them. I guess the fanservice in here is not too bad right now... XD

Some basic character development for Lynn and some for Yoshika for having their fighting spirit up and defeating the Neuroi missile. So much ecchi in here and panty shots though XD. Nice hug at the end...

First nipples confirmed at six o'clock! Oh boy, guess the pantsu lolis was only the surface. Hell I'm even starting to make predictions as to which scene is going to have an ass shot at this point.

With that aside, I'm actually enjoying this show for its other merits. The fights are pretty cool and the character development is heartwarming despite being simple and predictably cliche. Not to mention the whole concept of magic lolis flying around and blowing things up, just too amusing.

Dimaniche internal to the group and the character of the protagonist, it comes to the surface, but the narrative is able to camouflage well this aspect, giving the feeling that you only focus on Miyafuji and its interaction with the character of Lynette. Also note the way we relate Minna commander, much closer to the subject, unlike the Gundula commander. The component ecchi, often corrupts the script, which devotes many close-ups of the B side.
Beautiful ending, that longing!
