THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

So was it really the moonrace trying to kill Dianna, or just a convoluted plan by Guin in order to... do... something? His motivations are not entirely clear, so the producers could go either way at this point. And my thoughts on the whole "even though they had met face to face, his androgynous looks made them think the Gundam pilot was someone else" still stand.

A filler episode next?

Still don't get why the creators decided Loran being a crossdresser was a good idea.

Though the Moonrace plotting against Dianna is an interesting twist.

Love how Chare and the Char look alikes always seem to wear their masks even to things like parties. It's hilarious.

The crossdressing is weird not because it's cross dressing but because of the fact that I believe that the Moonrace has already saw Loran piloting the Gundam. Not to mention, as far as we know, he is the only dark complected character in the show.

Still, the political intrigue is pretty good. I wonder if Guin has anything to do with it or is it really a faction in the Moonrace. Maybe they don't like Dianna and her peaceful ways. I don't know, but I'm very happy to be surprised how she seems to want peace.

I always have to facepalm at all these Char impersonators. I wonder why this one hides his identity so consistently?

I'm surprised only his fellow spy recognized "Laura". I had thought the moon race knew the pilot was Loran, too, for some reason? If nothing else, surely someone would have recognized his looks. Char even danced with him, and there's a noticeable difference between slim, figure-less girls and guys, I'm fairly sure. o_O Well, in the real world, anyways. I guess anime guys can be effeminate enough to pull anything off.

Are the other spies going to be of more importance at some point? I'm really interested in them, too.

Maybe some moonrace guys are trying to kill princess Dianna so they'll have a reason to star the war.I think that it may be a minor group trying to do this or this is a strategy of the whole Moon race to justify their actions. But, since they didn't come all of a sudden to start a war at the beggining(a thing that they could have done, since they have a major advantage here), it's more reasonable to think it's a minor group.

Yeah I think the Moonrace people were posing as the Militia so that they can have a reason to go to war if Dianna was killed.

Finally it's getting more interesting but sadly the next episode looks like useless filler...

Loren's crossdress design was pretty cute. I hope it makes a reappearance.

Accepting a "peace cake" 's support from the militia -_-" How can this be okay in the first place? As soon as it was mentioned, I expected a bomb to blow Diana out.
The possibility of Moonrace agitators is pretty interesting, but I still think the same as Kihel.

Great fashion sense for Harry, but the other moonrace people were lacking there: more otherworldly costumes would have been appropriate.

4/5

@St0rmblade Yes, the accepted rule of this series is "Guen & / or Harry know."
Also, amusing to see your script uses "Lora" (mine opted for Laura, as it is an actual girl's name.)

I don't get why people dislike the crossdressing. It was a pretty fun part of the episode and Laura looked great, plus it all had a well thought out explanation - barring, as some earlier posters have noted, the fact that some Moonrace people have definitely seen Loran near the Turn A before.

Of course a war cannot be avoided in Gundam right ? Or we won't have enough story for 50 episodes ...

But this is interesting, I didn't expect that the problem is in Moonrace's military, this could make a 3-ways conflict ...

Harry looks more like the Mask from G Reco.

Moonrace wants war too. Who woulda thunkit!

Loran is really on the cutting edge of mobile suit piloting fashion. First, he went naked, now he is piloting in a dress.

Kieth is quickly becoming my favorite character. There is something just unbelievably cool about running a bakery in a potential war zone. I always felt the UC Gundam series lacked prominent baker characters. This really is the "Correct" Century after all.

Random thought: Diana's surname means "sun", which is a nice juxtaposition with her place of living.

It was strange to see "Lora" greet Diana by kissing her hand. Isn't that supposed to be a sign only from men to women? Maybe he failed his disguise but nobody pointed it out to him?

So apparently the people of the Moon need breathing devices? It wasn't clear earlier.

It was fun to see Loran learning "lady manners" but I still don't get why nobody seems to remember him when he outed himself as the pilot to Harry. Can't he at least recognize Loran's voice? I guess he pretends he doesn't now. And Guin is also pretending to not know a lot of things he does. He clearly wasn't happy to hear about the party.

We are yet to see what those 2 Earthling officers were planning.

When they said make the cake *blank* feet big I expected this to happen, basically like a trojan horse except with a cake.

Initially I thought Guin might have behind the attempted assassination but considering the assassins had that breathing device it might be a fraction of the Moonrace that wants Dianna died.

This was a really good episode, i didn't quite understand the crossdressing but it's ok.
The show is starting to show political intrigues and i love It.

The first few episodes were enjoyable for me, I enjoyed the world building, but the last few not so much. The narrative feels like its spinning its wheels, rather than just getting to the point with efficiency. I don't think I can tolerate anymore of this lackadaisical pace, as I'm more hungry for impactful and visceral Gundam entries that ruminate on the horrors of war, like F91 and War in the Pocket.
"I'm starting to think mal is run by Xinil generating electricity on a bicycle." - idklol
