Pretty interesting that Kayoko's problem wasn't conveniently solved in 20 minutes. Is this just "hikkikomori are serious business" or will there be a sequel to this episode?

I thought Doremi-chan had opened the girl's mind enough so that she could return to school |: apparently that was not the case.

Kayoko is not a hikkikomori for Christ's sake. A hikkikomori is someone who refuses to leave their house and Kayoko was perfectly fine going to the library by herself and interacting with other people. Her only problem is that she has panic attacks when she sees the school. Please, if you don't know what a term means, don't use it for God's sake.

Open her mind? Were you actually paying attention to what you were watching? At the end of the episode, Kayoko was actually looking forward to going to school and befriending Doremi but had a panic attack as soon as she saw the school building. That was an unconscious response, and you can see how sorry she was to not being able to go to school by the letter she sent to Doremi. Her problem is actually pretty similar to Onpu's mother's childhood trauma featured last season if I remember correctly.

It was interesting to see a case where the problem isn't magically solved. I really hope they expand on this in the future episodes, since Kayoko was an interesting character.

Wow, that was an interesting depiction of an anxiety attack and the stresses some people come under. Kayoko is also obsessed with certain subjects whilst she doesn't do too greatly in other subjects or has to be heavily dependent on other people on certain subjects. Which were interesting details to add. I'm glad that it just wasn't magically solved. This is a very real issue for a lot of children and I thank this series for actually having the balls to take it on.
I hope this is further developed upon.

A really good depiction of anxiety disorder in a kid's show.

Doremi is such a kind person. I love seeing her character development in this series. But still, it’s pretty sad Kayoko has such severe anxiety about going to school. Kids can be so mean sometimes, and she unfortunately got the short end of the stick.
