Me too, djinn. The dialogue and characterisation seems really superb for an anime that's superficially all about the action. I wonder if Guts might leave the Hawks to become Griffith's rival? Another duel between them would be enjoyable. ^^

Superb episode. It highlighted the depth of Guts' character so well. His speech thing towards the end had me mesmerized.

Epic shit. One thing thats been bugging for a while is that why isnt Guts caught yet after the murder of Yurnis (sp?) and his son? The guards saw what he looked like and his sword is so distinctive, surely they can tell who he is?

Because he killed all the guards who saw his face. So far Berserk has impressed me with it's excellent characters ( Casca has come a long way) and it's willingness to not be just another dumb action show. Sure the show is violent and disturbing but this episode is a fine example of how excellent Gut's is as a main character. He loves to kill, but the way he is portrayed makes him so much more.

Fantastic episode. Guts is fleshed out a lot more and Casca finally gets to understand him a bit better.

Exactly, what a great analogy, everyone bringing their own little light to the grander fire of Griffith's ambition.

The greatness of this show has really sneaked up on me. At first I was kinda indifferent, but now I can't wait to see what's next.

Everything has already been said about this episode, I can only praise it some more, pure brilliance. Guts is one of the "brutes" with more depth that I've ever seen, what a character.

I am really enjoying the dialogues. Great. I wish the animation was better. But, however, it is unique and characterized with the anime this way.

So, now that Guts has gotten all carved up fighting 100+ men, Casca loves him to death and wants him to stay with the Hawks. Didn't she just say a few eps back that she didn't care if he dropped dead on the battlefield?

Haha, you actually thought she meant that? She said it in the heat of the moment, she was angry. People say things they don't really mean in anger all the time.

Wow what a nice heartfelt episode! Guts is a great character.

I wonder if Griffith is genuinely a good guy, or if he's just a master manipulator. Plus he doesn't seem to age so obviously there's something up with him... Also a great character

One of the best characterization episodes thus far. I was surprised Guts talked soo much to Casca. I guess that's why she got the hint that he may want to leave. But he reassured her that he will stick it out until the end, but for whatever reason she doesn't believe him.

Also it seems Casca has dropped the warrior attitude for a moment and has become more feminine. I suppose that time alone together has shifted her attitude about Guts.

The next episode title is intriguing. The decisive battle.

He's a master manipulator. Light Yagami needs to find this guy and have a talk with him in the land of nothingness.
And still, Bill will live on.
He will befriend the next inhabitants of the earth, beings of light who revere him as a god.
And Bill will outlive them all... for millions and millions of years...exploring, learning, living,
until the earth is swallowed beneath his feet.
Until the sun is long since gone.
Until time loses all meaning and the moment comes that he knows only the positions of the stars
and sees them whether his eyes are closed or open.
Until he forgets his name and the place where he'd once come from.
He lives and he lives until all of the lights go out.

Dragging a comic relief character's story to three episodes. These three episodes made an inconsistency in the tone of story. But that last episode is something worth ignoring some parts.

It's also classic cheese.

I liked how Casca managed to fight back a bit before getting rescued by the band. I would've thought that they would reach Guts in time, to help him slay some of the enemies, but the fighting was already over once they got there.

Is that Coborlowitz dude dead now or did he run away again? Because they didn't show him explicitly dying, I assume the latter. Guts gets (lol, guts gets, don't know what the linguistic term is for that but it sounds nice) brought to the camp and healed up, but the doctor recommends not fighting anymore. Fat chance.

Casca gets fairy dust from Judeau (so now demons & fairies are confirmed in Berserk lore I guess) and rubs it on Guts' wounds. Guts doesn't really say it, but Casca gathers that he wants to leave the camp.

Could it be he wants to do that, so Griffith would consider him his friend/equal? Or is there something more to it? I guess we'll find out.
