| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Well that was......something -How fitting that after I just got finished with Highschool of the Dead, I get another episode focusing on the dead coming back to life, though this is less zombie and more,well, occult. I have to say though, I very rarely get shocked watching anime but when the principal's head got cut off, I wasn't expecting a shitload of wrigling Gummi worms to come sticking out -I guess this is something atypical of anime-original projects but as of now, I have absolutely no idea where the story is going. It's like there's time travel and psychic powers and the occult and supernatural stuff and you know what, I'm going to just watch without questioning anything. -My god, I haven't seen an anime ED song with real people in it since I think that last Shugo Chara series. OP song wasn't that great though. Smile's method for taking out lamies (i.e. punching them in the face) is awesome. |

| This was quite a pleasant surprise. Definitely looking forward to more of this, to see how this turns out. :) also towards the end when the guy came down from the sky you could see his penis in the shadow, made me laugh.;p |

| Well that was a pleasent surprise! Genre savvy, doesn't take itself entirely seriously while keeping it serious enough that you care about what's going on. Also Maya's one piece dress is such a constant tease. Good stuff! Maybe we'll finally see an Anime no Chikara anime work? |

| My impression of this first glimpse leaves me with high hopes. Maya feels far more real than your average main character and with the pacing, this episode was smooth. I scoffed at every joke in this season thus far, but I laughed at every attempt in this. I hope this isn't a train wreck waiting to happen. |

| This looks really nice. horror and humor, what more can we ask for. And 1999 is a great choice, they where paranoid at the time about the world ending during the year change to 2000 at that time. There also was a great fear that computers would fail, because of a internal system in each computer which wasn't changed since the 60's, it was probably just a attempt to boost the economy tho. Back to topic: That school looked really beautiful. Character design looks very nice as well, and i liked there personality's. Especially the main character seemed very interesting. The humor was also great i had a good laugh. Will enjoy watching this. |

| Well, this series totally took me by surprise. I wasn't sure what to make of this show when I first read the preview, but once the OP began, I knew that I was going to be in for a treat. I'm really digging the basic premise of the story, Overall, it reminded me of Ghosbusters, (which isn't a bad thing), and I can't wait for the next episode! |

| Oh god, this was just too fun XD I had no expectations for this show seriously, so the comedy kinda blew my mind there :D Somehow this episode entertained me from beginning to the end, even though it was fully packed with every cliche that is out there. Anyone thinking of Matrix at the beginning or was it only me? XD |

Horrible Subs have SD and HD verions of their anime, it it really is great 720p video, so dont hesitate to dl them.....except for their HOTD video, they aren't great quality, just pick some other subber for that, but for everything else so far, the quality is great ^^ |

| YES. OH GOOD GOD YES. I had a good feeling about this series and already it's exceeded my expectations. I love Maya <3 only the first episode and she's already had some awesome character development. Great. :D I like JK and Smile too, especially JK-you don't see guys like that in anime very often. Not as main characters, anyway. Especially not as anything more than comic relief. It worked well because it didn't take itself too seriously (unlike Highschool of the Dead, which is ultimately quite a ridiculous show playing itself completely straight...) Character designs are quite lovely. At first the style looked a bit Bakemonogatari-esque, but by the end of the episode it seemed closer to the original anime designs for Kure-nai. also, THE GUY HAS NIPPLES, OMG. (As well as a shadow-penis. Lolol.) That's another plus. I can't stand Anime Anatomy, but normally it's just something you have put up with, so it's niceto see it averted. Btw, I don't think Anime no Chikara's been a failure so far. I haven't seen Senkou no Night Raid, but don't be hating on Sora no Woto. >:| It was a great show that never managed to live up to its full potential. also this >>>>>> Highschool of the Dead. |

| Well, that was... weird. I don't really have a definite opinion on this. Some of it was kinda cheesy, I guess. It's certainly interesting, though... I'll say it's one to watch, really. Just gotta see where this is going. Not a bad first episode, though. |

| Will omit relating this to HSotD. Moving right along... Well we know Maya wants to take down the school, but we don't know the goal of those 'men in black.' Good that we have some idea... Scratch that, a naked boy just descended from the heavens but still. I didn't expect this to be very serious, and i was pleasantly surprised how smoothly the transition between chopping heads to cracking jokes was. I actually laughed during the tape recording though,somehow surprised me. |
| This just seems fun, hopefully it wont take it self to seriously later on, dont really get the plot, but still I love Maya and thats good enough for me to keep watching. Most will compare this to HOTD, but nothing to do with each other, this is playing to different strenght which I actually enjoy. |

It hasn't won over me yet, but it's pretty intriguing so far. I thought this series was going to be all "srs business" so the comedic scenes were a nice touch. I think Maya's pretty cool too. A bit too stand-offish but she may turn out to be a great character. |

| Great start, imo better than Highschool of the Dead (which I didn't even bother adding to my list after 1st episode). Halfway in and I'm already loving Maya and the setting. This indeed might be the first Anime no Chikara project that will go well. |

| This was soooo Awesome! It was so refreshing to see a comedy that wasn't vulgar and is well, actually funny unlike the other summer anime. Maya is already a great character who managed to get introduced pretty well into the first episode. It blended the serious stuff quite well without it feeling forced and melodramatic. Great artwork and character designs, love the dark and gothic look it's got going on and the bgm was great too! Great OP/ED! Will continue watching. Definitely needs more love... It's officially THE anime of the season! (IMO) |

Unless you believe in them...." hahaha.. fitting disclaimer message at the end.. for now, this is the strongest show for me this summer season.. i thought i'd only be satisfied with HOTD but that expectedly did not have much originality unlike this one.. now the only problem about this is as an Anime no Chikara original anime, the concept would have to be backed up by good storytelling in the latter episodes which might be a hit or miss depending on the writers (yep, no other reference materials).. anyway, i really like the start and Maya's character a lot.. hope the other main character also blends with her.. |

Visually impressive art and animation, a unique plot, they had the decency to introduce the character(s), high school students that actually look like high school students, and a female lead that was seductive even without balloons the size of her head. This is also the first summer anime that I actually enjoyed the first episode of as well. (After having seen more) ...Action and a backstory? *weeps* I can't believe it, a good summer 2010 anime! |

| Alright! There really IS something I'm excited to watch this season. I was worried for a bit that summer 2010 would be a complete dud. B/G work is pretty sharp. Character design, very A-1 pictures - ish. |
