With under a thousand users having seen this OVA, its come to my attention that this show might be underrated...

As a fan.....just wanna spread the word that if your a lover of harems, ecchi, subtle romances, mecha, martial arts, comedy, or one man armies....watch this show and rate it!

I know fansubs have been slow to take this one on, but I believe most have been subbed now..

I completely agree with you. I just finished watching it and I think it's one of the best harems out there and am surprised that trash like Omamori Himari or Ladies vs Butlers gets so much more attention than a well done harem like this one.

Only episode 13, the last one, hasn't been subbed yet; I hope they do it soon.

tell me about it! Omamori was 'so-so' and Ladies vs Butler was a total disappointment...and sad thing is, over 5000 users have seen both!

as for the last few harems that's come out in the last few seasons, they've all been let downs and waaay overrated....

than Isekai comes along which actually has a story line and even a plot twist(which for a harem/ecchi show would be like finding a needle in a haystack), and you only have under a 1000 users....well at least the 900+ who have seen it have rated it well...

I really hope a sequel comes out for this OVA

i think the 45 minutes each episode is what separates this from other animes, but sadly thats what also keeps it from being watched. i have to say i really really enjoyed this series but a monthly ova doesn't really capture many ppl's attention. heck i didn't actually kno about this series until i saw sky7anime update their list and was just curious to see wat it was

It's not so much underrated as much as not many people know about it. It's got a score: 8.271 (scored by 1609 users), so it's pretty high.Spread the word out to make people watch it.
I'm a huge fan of Masaki Kajishima, who created Tenchi Muyo, so when he announced this show over 10 years ago, I was all over it. But the wait for it was long as hell. If this gets a sequel, don't expect it any time soon.
Also, it has plot twists and has good characterizations. They build on the characters really well. I liked this anime because it has the feel of harem anime's before year 2000, because after 2000, you have an overabundant amount of harem anime's. Those before year 2000, director's crafted harem anime's really well, like Martian Successor Nadesico and Vandread. Isekai has the feel of those great harem anime's of the 90's.

No its not. The anime story fails completely after the first attack on the city. Fighting a war and you don't kill your opponents? Allowing them to come back specifically with the intention to KILL you? Wow, the thnking is magnificant.

Its not even like the enemy did not kill anyone. Frankly every one from baba to doll to kenshi are irritating. I don't remember Tenchi Muyo ever being such a complete failure.

It's a question of both visibility and availability.

Shows that get episodes once in a blue moon and subs at an less of a regular pace tend to fall out of people's "care-list" if they aren't important enough (ie. Queen's Blade, Black Lagoon etc.)

It is true that the show fails on answering a lot of questions and some parts of the plot were just plain dumb or absurd, but that doesn't mean the show was bad.
8/10 is a good score imo.
- Awesome battles. The animation quality is truly amazing.
- Ridiculously hilarious. The harem theme will always be funny, but they manage to add so elements of the absurd that make it quite especial in this series.

Sadly there are some parts that just don't add up of the show (won't give examples do to possible spoilers) but that doesn't means it wasn't fun watching.
Watching this show was quite the experience and i would recommend it to anyone.
huh?

I don't think either that Isekai would be underrated.. rather unknown.
I myself am not familiar with the main series this was a Spin-off of really and it still didn't make me not to like it as in the matter of fact I liked it very much but as choyos said before me.. there were some parts in the plot that didn't quite add up and it was rather confusing.. especially at start of the series. I was rather confused of Kenshis origins and wtf he really was at some points to be honest.

I picked this series up rather randomly as I was browsing through the top anime's list of different genres and Isekai was at the top of ecchi series :DD it sounded weird and I didn't have anything better to do so I decided to watch it even if it could have been bad.. I just wanted some anime to watch to kill time :D But I was really pleasantly surprised with the plot, comedy and their good balance with the ecchi/harem parts as they didn't steal the spotlight from the plot.. and rather that it was a good plot that I really wasn't expecting from ecchi/harem series tbh :D

When watching the 1st ep. I was trying "not to like it that much" at first since I really didn't like Kenshi's character styling and mechas also looked stupid and little too extravagant.. with the giant horn in Kenshis Seikijin for instance.
But after a while I started to not care about it and after that actually like them, as the story kept "sucking" me in little by little :D
Though I still don't like Kenshi's hair D:

At close to the end of ep 1 I just then realized that the ep's were over 45min long and not 20-25 as normal anime ep's are as I wasn't paying any attention to the time and I thought it was very good thing that they lasted that long :D it felt good to know even when you were at ep 10 you still had allmost 2½h left to watch :D

The only thing that left me bothering me was the start of ep 1 and end of 13.. wtf were those text dialogs? If it has something to do with the main series, could someone tell me :DD

This. The graphics and battles were top notch. However, the entire series was literally a land fill of fillers all the way until at least episode 9. Episodes 2-9 were just Kenshi meeting girls and getting into harem themed situations. Granted the situations were funny at times, it got repetitive, dragged out and ultimately ruined the entire series for me.

All the plot holes also tested my patience with this anime. I never drop animes but this one seriously had me contemplating on it. An example would be why? Why is the Holy Island getting attacked? Because of your 'ideologies'? Would you at least take some time to tell us instead of bombarding us with panties and breasts? Also, as would be expected, no one dies in this anime. They just keep on coming back and back and back and back.

Another one would be that the timing on the music is horrible. Though the music (BG music) itself is not bad, the timing is horrible. Did I just say that twice? Well let me say it again. The timing is absolutely horrible in this. I could tell when they tried to make a 'situation' seem serious or dire only to be ruined by the music. An example of this would be on episode 13 when the students of the Holy Island are trying to take back the land. There's some fluffly music playing that could easily be used during one of Kenshi's Harem situations. Everyone is laughing and having a good time even though it's the last episode. Instead of laughing and smilling, at least try and keep a serious face.

I can say after finishing this OVA series that there was literally no character development. The only 'development' I saw throughout were characters becoming tsundere and just becoming an outright harem.

For me, the only time this anime for me gave off a sense of seriousness was when Kenshi's seikijin went black and white and went berserk. That and in the beginning of episode 1 when Kenshi was on the swan trying to kill that princess. Not even the climax could be taken seriously. Kenshi wasn't even breathing hard during the final battle even though Gaia was many times stronger then him and he wasn't even trying his hardest until Chiaia threatens to take away his gems??? What the hell? He had a harder time compressing his sword then fighting Gaia. Mediocre until the very end.

After the Holy island is taken over, for some reason NO ONE cares that all their material possessions, everything they've owned is being pillaged by the thieves and all they care about is catching Kenshi's attention and being infatuated with him. Completely ridiculous. I know this is an anime, but can you at least make an attempt in trying to make the situations they're in at least seem realistic, having some type of impact on the characters?

This anime, barely being able to keep my attention I may have skipped on some points but I'm pretty sure I nailed the major flaws in this anime. Giving this anime even a 5 would be too much. I rated this a 2, which seems just about right when the plot is a complete mess, riddled with plot holes and too many fillers. I seriously can not recommend this to anyone. However, if you're into harems and don't give a damn about plots or character development, then go ahead and watch this train wreck of an anime.

Note : Typing out only what had came to mind, this post is a complete mess. I seriously disliked this anime so much I even went and typed this Wall of text out. If I had more time I would've seriously written a review on this and made this at least planned out with more examples. But whatever.

It's over-rated by franchise fans i thought the show was going to be an outstanding fantasy show from the initial episodes, but it really lost it's way as it progressed.
