This movie is the most conflicted Gundam has ever made me. These characters alternate between behaving incredibly stupid and just plain nuts. The animation is also all over the place. But the passion of this anime shines through the whole time, and when the animation is on point, IT's ON POINT!

So I thought about giving this anime a 9. But then I compared it to other Gundam anime I reviewed and gave it an 8 instead. If you loved what you watched in this movie, I get it. If you hated it, I also get it.

Also to it's credit, I didn't fall asleep like I kept doing watching the anime this movie was based on. The story, while often very dumb, was something that mostly made sense.

Since I was actually awake and aware, I now know why the proton torpedoes are held in such high esteem by Gundam fans. If you make it far enough into this movie, you will too.
