| So this season decided to adapt that part of the manga huh. Its integration is a mixed bag, since it's longer than in the manga, where it was presented as soon as the time skips happened, not now that they reached that floating city. And this remake already introduced the overall lore in its first scene. Why show that at the beginning if you are going to adapt that scene from the manga anyways? On the positive side, it was better connected with what is happening right now in the plot, whereas in the source material, the exposition just kinda happens as a scene transition from the first arc into the second arc, basically used instead of a "2 years later" line. As with anything else in this franchise, the lore itself doesn't make sense, how do you create magic with science? But leaving it as a legend instead of a known fact works in its favor, even more considering what this story that was talked about will turn into later on, this way it won't feel blatanly rewritten later on. |

| I loved this episode. The backstory was animated nicely. And the Dark Schneider-Vai stuff on King Crimson Glory was gold. |
| So we finally got a detailed backstory on Anthrasax and the old world. I don't remember if this was in Season 1. But I think it was definitely in the 90's OVA. But here it was explained in more detail and I loved it. Explaining old-world science as magic is interesting. It makes sense to people with actual magic. I assume orcs, trolls, and other magical creatures were probably created by mutations kinda like in the Fallout universe. Another great episode. But I don't know how I feel about the love rivalry between Vai and Dark Schneider. It makes no sense. A show like this doesn't really need a love triangle with 2 men and 1 woman. Especially when the MC wants to create a harem. Dark Schneider is made up of little people. Wtf. His body makes 0 sense. But what the heck is that raccoon tail thing? Holy shit. Dark Schneider is blind. He was too OP so I guess that's why he got nerfed. Lmfao. |

| Lore dump! Some of it we saw in season 1. To get a sense of scale, between the end of human civilization and the present setting, the Elves' own advanced civilization came and went. Vai and Dark Schneider boast about how far they went with Yoko with her being right there. The dragon recognises Lars as one of its own. Dark Schneider remains cool and acts like nothing's happened when he's going into battle blind. |
