The movie itself isn't that bad. But there is some PowerPoint presentation too if you like it. 6/10. Probably because not a huge fan of this series so... Even slept a little during the movie

Just came from the cinema and... While I really like Tensura, I expected more of the movie...?

It was great seeing Tempest and its members again, the animation were good where it should be (the fights, the parkour of Gobta lol) and the insert song with Towa and the tiara was great.

The story is a normal one at best and the ending... we sure needed a happy ending I guess. Oh well, at least Season 3 got announced!

I just got out of the theater for this movie. Saw it in Shibuya. The whole thing with Towa and Hiro was obviously filler. It didn’t really develop too much. I didn’t really like the end. It kinda just ruined the emotional scene that was going to happen. Would of preferred it if Hiro just died there would of gave a good conclusion. Then Towa battle rezzed and died then that one demon was like yeah no I’ll just battle rez you.

Animation was iffy in places for a movie. Felt like a glorified TV episode.

5/10

Filler movie, also of note theater was not very packed for a movie that just came out a few days ago. Surprising. At least they gave a free manga book. I wish more movies did this in america.

Needed more Rimuru.

Great animation at points, loved the relationship between Hiiro/Towa and when Hiiro reunited with his fellow Oni. The ending, however, kinda ruined quite a bit of the emotional buildup. While it's true that everything, including the Tiara's powers and the break in the contract, was foreshadowed, it kinda made it seem a bit cringy when both Hiiro and Towa were revived one after the other... You will be spoiled - it touches one some of Rimarus character development and new character / old ones that changed

I would say watch Season 2 first, the movie itself was pretty mid tbh so not worth getting spoiled for

Just watched it earlier in the UK - Vue

Gotta say, for a non-canon but still written by the author it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. I wished it was canon though as there was great potential for the characters shown and how it affects past-ogre tribe.

Anyway, there was NO POST CREDITS, so there's no confirmation of a new season in the making.

Also! I watched the sub version and for an officially subbed movie, they lacked on the timing or rather, failed to move the subs to the top of the screen when multiple characters are talking in the background. That was so unprofessional for something that is officially released.
Kudos for all the fan-subs out there that have done great for free, but also the translation was good so there was nothing to fault in that front (they could still have put that -mild spoliers- he said Violet in the subs so the public can acknowledge that Rimuru did hear that name, but since is non-canon there was no point I guess?)

Movie started off a little slow, and no one really fought to their strongest, was kinda hoping for more out of the Diablo fight when it happened. While i liked it overall could have been better.

NGL, the tensura movie felt like just an excuse to go back to the world and see the characters. The plot was woefully weak, the romance was mediocre and the main villain motivations had me cringing the entire time. The asspull with Towa and Hiiro at the end was.. odd too. 7/10.

That said; I think the comedy was well done, some legitimately hilarious moments in the movie like shion cooking making the dragon pass out lmao

I can only say this: fun things are fun. Despite most anime isekai being bog-standard and plagiarised from one another, at least Slime entertains, has a colorful cast and an interesting world. I wish the story was more serious (like the opening sequence) and wasn't always on easy mode for the protagonist, but I can't complain too much. The fights were aplenty & varied.

Just watched this. I would say it is better than the past 2 seasons for story since they were able to progress faster, had better action, had more emotional stakes, more unpredictability and rimuru didn't just carry the story like he always did.

The visuals won't be as good as jjk0, progressive etc, except for the chase scene. But I say having a self contained story benefit it never.

I would recommend people watching while you can. Since they don't tend to play these movies for long and will take while before it gets pirated or streaming

I will say I read the reviews beforehand saying it was mid so I came in with low expectations and I came out very satisfied. It definitely had its problems such as: weak romance, weak emotional climax, and rimuru nerfing himself so the main villain didn’t get wiped in the first 5 minutes. But at the same time, the animation was pretty good, the comedy was really fun and it was just great to see the whole gang back together in a fun comfy story with improved animation. Music was also great, particularly the insert song 👌. Overall if you like the show you’ll like the movie!

I went into it hoping to see something that was nearly as impressive as the high points of Season 2, like the Clayman or Hinata fights. Hell, any good fight from the entirety of the show would've probably sufficed. Sadly that never happened. Rimiru was relegated to more of a side role in the movie and didn't really have much of an impact on the narrative. It feels like the main purpose the movie serves is to introduce new characters. Whether or not they'll have a recurring role in the future is beyond me.

The story is easily the weakest point of the movie, especially the ending. The movie feels more like a 3-4 episode side-story than an important arc. I don't even mind filler stories so long as they're memorable and bring something new to the table. It's not outright bad in any sense, but it certainly isn't anything to get excited for.

Well, you can argue that Shizue was the main catalyst to progress the story itself. So her death was necessary. Other than her, I believe no one from our core cast so far, has ever died(with the exception of Shion and her Yomigaeri).

I watched it last night at the cinema, it was the first time a theater I went to was playing anime movies. It was pretty meh to watch but it's exciting to watch weeb shit at the local cinema, eating tendies, drinking a couple of beers and relaxing... fun stuff. Honestly though what a generic movie, antagonists sucked, wasn't built up, no real character development, Rimuru didn't really get to do anything important and

But hey ho, we're able to watch isekai at the cinema now bros :D

and why the author does not like to kill a lot of people even more characters that the fans like and like One Piece from the group there that it is important that no one has died yet

It was kinda slow-paced at the beginning and at some parts, but the dynamic between Rimuru and his friends was still there so that made it great! Plus, Diablo still not getting the much wanted love and praise he seeks from Rimuru, but it's alright, we all know that Rimuru appreciates him lol

Now, will another season be coming out after this? I sure hope so! I have a feeling that Viole (or however you spell her name lol) will play a part in Rimuru's life.

saw it in-theater English dub, USA, last night. enjoyed the HELL outta this movie. i've been watching anime since 1990 and this is only my 2nd in-theater anime movie experience. SAO: Progressive Movie1 was my 1st. if i can get time off work SAO:P Movie2 will be my 3rd.

if you want to read my review, i just posted one here on MAL so i'll just say... FUN movie!!! if it is near you, watch it. if it isn't near you, find it online or on-disk sometime in the future. i gotta agree with many folks talking here, story/writing wasn't awesome. art and animation were just about as good as S1 & S2 but it wasn't 'anime movie quality' work. i do own all of Monogatari, InuYasha and Bleach's movies on-disk. so i do have a 'little' experience with anime movies.

as to the commenter(s) mentioning where to place this movie 'in franchise' for TIMELINE PURPOSES ONLY... definitely AFTER the last episode of S2. there are SEVERAL Characters as well as Skills/Spells/Abilities used/shown on-screen that were anime-canon AFTER S2 events. i have NOT read the WN/Manga/LN though. i'm pretty much a 100% anime-only otaku. :)

i hope i've been helpful to the TenSura community at large here on MAL and if you've any other questions don't hesitate to contact me. i'll do my best to help out some more. :)
just an ol school otaku enjoyin the life. don't sass me kiddies, i've been otaku probably since before you were born. leave me in peace and i won't bother you either.

This movie is pretty standard milquetoast shit. Me and my friends saw it in theatres last night and constantly laughed at the end by how absurd the power of love and friendship was at the end of the movie. The amount of fakeout deaths and fake tragedy would make Shakespeare blush. If the two main new characters never show up again in the future, it would’ve been more poignant if they died died.
Anyways, it was Pokémon movie tier.

Except the thing with Diablo/Noir and the other colored demon, not much about the movie stood out. Wasn't bad. Wasn't amazing. Was just like an elongated ova with slightly better production imo.

Honestly, would have been perfectly fine if not for the villain and the forced attempt at some emotional ending.
Terrible, generic villain design with ridiculous motives and a fight and demise that wasn't satisfying.

Then some double uno reverse bs with the emotional ending which completely ruined the scene imo leaving most the audience just dumbfounded.

Production was as expected of Tensura + movie. Aside from a few incredibly weird transitions and kinda lackluster music, not really much to say.

Tbf, overall just a fun movie experience but definitely not a must watch or anything. Kind of unfortunate since I really think they could have done a lot more with Rimuru, Milim, and Veldora rather than trying to introduce half a dozen new characters, a new nation, and try for some half-baked emotional ending.

Average movie as expected from a typical theatrical version of famous anime. I like the happy ending though. Hiiro is a hot new character in addition of the already hot cast, I hope he'll appear in the TV season soon.
