I enjoyed the Akari arc but I am glad to see that we are back to the MC and can't wait to see what this arc will turn out to be.

The manga does not really seem to have been going anywhere for a while. I have been waiting for a really interesting arc to start. I would like to see Kyoko return to the story at some point as she has been absent from the narrative for a long time now. I feel that her role in the story is not yet at an end.

I don't think it's going to nowhere. The pace clearly slowed down, but Rei is going to face Shimada again in the next chapters. I don't know if he'll already win this time, but I don't think it'll be an easy game for Shimada like the first one. Also if I'm not mistaken he's 5-1 this season in B2 right now. Maybe the decisive game for promotion will be against his father, which would be interesting for plot development.
