| At this point I am hoping for anything suggestive of a happy ending. I'm afraid there might not be any marriage scenes at the end of this play, and perhaps not even the suggestion of a romantic pairing. Will Matsuri just go off to university and leave Miss Sunflower behind? Will Ayame and Himawari-san forever be best friends but not lovers? I'm not opposed to the idea of lifelong platonic love affairs, but I really would be grateful for just a hand-holding-sharing-an-apartment-together kind of final scene. |
