---(Volume two, Chapter four; the eighth numbered chapter in total)---

Well Menou, that's a problem... xD

Another healthy dose of grim and dark happenings, heh

Manon's motivations got explained out and while maybe not the most enthralling of motives, the finale is at least decently played out despite the battle with Menou being surprisingly short. As was the case with Orwell, Menou gets subjected to another final exchange that forces her to consider her way of life. It'll be intriguing to see if/ how much these exchanges affect her spirit and soul as the story progresses. Whilst Manon is on topic, I'll admit I had a bit of a weird time gauging whether Manon is an anti-hero or villain, given the various different motivating forces and who she chooses to eliminate (though I guess the extensive use of Original Sin would unquestionably make her a villain)

One suspicion that I had from the previous chapter that would explain Manon's abilities related to Original Sin, is that she shared a guiding force connection to Pandemonium. A suspicion that grew when Manon was able to overpower Akari's Pure Concept. Lo and behold, the chapter ends with a development that suggests this suspicion might not have been far from the truth. Good luck with that one Menou; fighting an enemy from your own world is one thing, fighting a world-renowned human error is an entirely different ball game...

We did get a little more information on Akari and it turns out that she might not have had the adventure with Menou just once previously, but multiple times in fact; globally regressing to the beginning of the adventure on each occasion where it ends in disaster (presumably Menou dying before killing Akari)...

Thankfully, barring any complications, it appears Momo will be back in action in chapters to come, which is a relief, though not entirely unexpected :) (What would Ashuna do if Momo dies so early in the story, I wonder xD)

Onward, to the final chapter of volume two!
